Congratulations to winner .Tressa enjoy
Maria, hope you feel a little more comfortable today, don't belittle your pain, it is as real as anyone else's .
Rosemary, the meds need time to settle you down, you are right not to let it take over your life. Good on you .
Karen, hope the op went well. And that you are feeling more comfortable today.
Donita you do see the colourful side of life in your job, you make me smile.
Carmen, have you heard his the kid is doing it has he moved too far away.
Margaret Driscoll, I totally agree, I don't like this old age lark at all, it is a real pain.
The twins arrived back yesterday, they have had a lovely time in the Lakes, came over to see me with the puppy Dave who is turning into a beautiful little thing.it was lovely to have them back.
Daily hugs to all, especially our poorly and missing friends, still no news on Stehanie, hooe she is okay.

Dear Sue and the Bobbin' Robins

Very clever, cutting out the robin so he pops. Could somebody explain what robins have to do with Christmas?

Tressa, I never knew it was a cola company that turned Santa from green to red. And congratulation on becoming the latest owner of a genuine Sue Wilson card!

Goodness gracious, Barbara Macaskill, what a word! Christmasalisciousness!

Rosemary Powell, I hope you'll be gentle with yourself while coping with seizures and new meds. Yet you can still send out compliments and hugs and love.

Crewe Trish, Izzi and Maureen Killen, thanks for enjoying the landlady story.

Pam, it still makes me laugh that they named the puppy Dave. As funny as a cat named Larry.

Best wishes for a happy weekend.

Love,
Donita

Hi Sue, love this gorgeous card, Christmas wouldn’t be Christmas without robins on a few cards. Really like the way you have cut out just the centre piece as it makes it stand out so well.

Donita – there are lots of explanations for robins at Christmas. In the early 19th century British postmen wore bright red uniforms and were nick-named Robins. Some greeting card artists illustrated their cards with the delivery of letters and one decided that instead of drawing a postman they would draw a robin with the cards and letters in his beak, hence robins on cards.
Another story surrounds Christ’s crucifixion. As Christ was dying on the cross a little brown bird flew beside him, trying to comfort him with its song. The bird clamped its beak on Jesus’ thorny crown, trying to remove it, and although the bird was not strong enough, as it attempted to pull off the thorns, a little bit of Christ’s blood stained his breast red.

I have always known both of these stories but double checked with Wikipedia in case they were just family stories :-) I hope I haven’t bored everyone.

Tressa – Congratulations on being this week’s Wednesday Winner, enjoy your stunning card.

Wishing everyone a safe, happy and pain-free week-end.

Frances

Hello Sue,
I had to pop in earlier to prove I don't go Night Clubbing!!
I have watched the video - I don't have the Tobin but I do have the Poinsettia Stained Glass Die! I'm all ready to go - it's just that time seems to run away with me!
I love this technique and thank you for the tip about cutting it out twice! The effect is beautiful!
Tressa - many congratulations! I really love that card and I'm sure you do too! Enjoy!!
Frances - I knew the first story but not the second! Also robins are seen regularly in gardens in winter long after others have gone to warmer climes! Going " off piste " here - robins nested in my wellies which were upturned in the welly boot rack! It's right outside our back door! They survived humans moving around and my boots!!!
Pam - so pleased the twins had a good holiday and Dave too! Bet he is in loads of photos! Take care.
Love to all, Myra ( Friend of Maureen!). Xxx
PS if I'm late tomorrow - it's because we have the family visiting for the day!!!

Hi Sue,
Love all your stained-glass dies, and this one is one of my favorites. Lovely card, beautiful colors, great technique and video. Thank you for the inspiration.
Congratulations to Tressa!

Fluffycat - Thanks for the stories. I didn’t know the connection between the robin and Christmas.
Maureen - You seem to be almost in your top form, right?
Pam – Glad the twins had a great time with their father and came to visit you. Hope you feel better. Take care.
You asked about the Kid ... he called me yesterday evening. He is doing fine. The new job is less stressful than the previous one. He sounded happy and healthy. Another scan is scheduled at the end of this month; hopefully the result will be good. He will try to visit us soon. The Kid wanted to know everything about my vacation; if I liked Montreal because he lived there before to move to Toronto and he really loved that year spent in Quebec (now I understand why). We had an enjoyable conversation (not like others, I don’t say names) and he promised to be in touch. He sent hugs to all my co-workers (he didn’t talk to anybody since he left) and he didn’t forget about all my blog friends either. So hugs from him for you all.

Have a lovely Sunday,
