Hi crafters! Today's card giveaway uses the Faux Tile technique.
I started with a piece of coconut white card that is 6” x 6” in size. With a score board, make 2” score lines across and downward on the card (score at 2” and 4” across and turn the card and do the same again.) Using the Shaded Succulent Stamp To Die For set, stamp the larger flower randomly across the background with a Black Archival ink pad. Fill in some of the open areas with the same design in the smaller flower from the stamp set. Next cover up the score lines using a post it note on each square, one square at a time. Ink the edges of each square using Chic Viola Colour Cloud ink and a smoothie for blending. Move the post it notes to do each section in the same manner. Add a thin coconut white mat, an Iris card mat and a thin black mat and add mounting foam to the back. For the focal element, Cut the Samantha die in white and black. Offset the black die cut behind the white one as a shadow. Add mounting foam and add it to the background in a diamond orientation. Cut the centre die in the Samantha set out of Iris card and glue to the centre. Stamp your sentiment in black and cut it out with the oval from the Azores die set.
Stamp the floral stamps again on to Iris card with a black Archival ink pad. Cut each of them out with the matching Succulent Garden die set. Use a large ball stylus to form the flowers from the back of the petals and stack and glue them together. Add white pearls to the centres. Add the largest flower in the lower corner, seating it on a triple bow tied from black satin ribbon and add the two smaller flowers in the opposite corner. Add a white paper pierced mat along with a thin iris card and black card mat. Complete the card with a final white mat. The finished dimensions are 7” x 7” in size. Leave a comment if you would like to be entered into the drawing to win this card. The winner will be announced on Saturday's blog post. All for now, Sue x

Beautiful card on a very lovely morning. Love it. Perfect for the giveaway.
Carmen, so sorry for the Kid, I know the surgeon has to be on top form for every operation but as you say why couldn't they tell the Kid it may have to be postponed. Let's hope it is done today and all goes well.
Pat, you are such a good wife giving up your trip to Barbados, you wouldn't have settled if you had gone, although you might have considered the 3 wheelies to look after him. Let me think, you made the right decision.
June, you had such fun with your granddaughter. My only granddaughter used to love making cards with me when she was little, now she is 15 it is all makeup, hair and phone, treasure their enthusiasm whilst it is there.
Again nothing said at work, definitely the ostrich situation.
We had tragic news at the weekend, the twins paternal grandfather was killed in a Vintage Tractor Rally accident when it overturned and crushed him. As you can imagine, everyone is devastated, he was 64, the twins took the news badly, we are watching them and trying to get them to talk if needed, at 13 they tend to clam up and think they are too old to cry. Such a very sad event, Robs youngest child is 12 and such a Daddy's girl. How do you cope with that at her age, bless her.
My daily hugs to all, especially our poorly and missing friends, big hug for the Kid today.
Hi Sue,

My granddaughter finished the card for her other nanny's birthday yesterday, she loved running the dies through the little machine.

Morning Sue,
A stunning card today for the lucky recipient.
So sorry to read your tragic news Pam, children are resilient and they cope with such an unfortunate event in their own way which may surprize you how adult like they can be.
Joseph and Tiegan were 7 and 11 when Pete left us to dance with the angels and we were very concerned about their reactions especially as an autopsy had to happen first before the funeral arrangements could be made. It was especially harder for Joseph at first because he was with me when the Police came to let us know he had gone.
After the initial shock, we told them everything that was going to happen (apart from finer details) so they could understand it all and they chattered away how much they love (they never said loved in the past sense) their Granddad from fun water fights in the summer garden to trips out and his own special touch of magic.. reading them to sleep on stay-over nights. When the time came to inter his ashes I asked them to write him a letter of all the fun times just to remind him how fantastic he was which were then placed with him in the Garden of Rest.
Hugs to all those in need of comfort whether through illness, hard times or a loss.
Love 7 hugs

Good morning Sue,
A beautiful bright card using a clever faux tile technique that I must try myself. I love the stamp and die co-ordination. Once again thank you for the wonderful inspiration, you never fail to inspire. X
Wonderful card! Clever technique which gives such a lovely effect. Debra x
Fabulous card Sue, I was thinking about ordering this stamp and die set, you have made the decision for me, I have the other dies already, so be silly not to.
Annette x
WOW Sue, good morning, what a great idea. What a gorgeous card to start the day with, how perfect would it be to start every day admiring this gift for real, you have such a generous nature. The tile effect is brilliant so thank you for the dimensions as although I don't have this stamp to die for its on the list (in brackets along side the die) ☺ but I do have the Peony stamp that I could use to have a bash with, I've always thought that the co-ordinating floral stamp just gives that something extra to the die (Beverly F your floral work would look even more stunning if you collected the stamps too - if that's possible ) your flowers always look so amazing.
Your flowers today Sue just look amazing, I don't know if it's the colour or what, but they look so dramatic, can flowers look dramatic ? Whoever receives this stunning gift from you should not only count their lucky stars, but be extremely grateful, as there are no other designers that I've heard of that have such a kind generous heart like you have Sue. You deserve all the love n hugs I have to give as a thank you for being YOU. Have a great day xxx
Beautiful card Sue x xhazel

Hi Sue,
A really beautiful card, love the background and must have a go at this technique.
Thanks for sharing,
Heather
Dear Sue and Fello Wilsonettes,
This is interesting. I would like to see the spinner in your house, with all the techniques on it. I have just about succumbed to the succulents, although I want the Sweet Williams first.
Pam, I'm so sorry for your grandchildren who lost their grandfather on their Dad's side. Sounds like he was vital to the end.
And Carme, poor Kid, waiting all day for the surgeon who made him wait all day. They probably kept thinking the other surgery was almost over, and then it kept not being over, and then he was exhausted.
I loved the description of granddaughters being excited about crafting. And I'm glad you're letting them work with the real thing. Kids' supplies shouldn't be so awful if we want them to develop a love for working with their hands.
Love to everyone, especially those in need of consolation for not getting to go to Barbados. (That would be all of us!)
Love,
Donita
Good morning Sue,

Hello Sue,
Love the tiled effect card today, it's so beautiful.
Pam, I hope the ostriches emerge today and things are settled. So sorry to read about the tragic news and sending love and prayers. I think talking about things and being there to answer questions is really the best way, but I'm no expert.
Carmen, sorry to read about the Kid. I hope everything goes smoothly today for him.
Yvonne, how lovely to see you, even short and sweet is better than nothing until you get back to full steam.
Laine, hope you are feeling a wee bit better.
Pat L, you are a star thinking so much of Mr L, but don't cancel your trip to Barbados - just change the name on the ticket to mine, or I could change my name by deed poll if it's cheaper ha ha. No Elaine, my suitcase won't be big enough for you to come as well. Now where are my holiday clothes? Seriously, what a disappointment for you, but as you say you wouldn't be able to settle and you can always blackmail him with this in years to come!!!
Donita, love the last line of your post - so clever.
love to all who are poorly or lonely and their carers.
