Thank You

Hello there my crafty friends!  I have a simple garden sort of card for you today!  I started by cutting the Family Tree die in a piece of coconut white card to create an aperture.  I glued a white backing card to it so the shape was cut out and still showing.  I added some very light inking in the background to look like clouds and cut a few birds and glued them in place.    I selected several autumnal shades of card and cut the matching leaf shapes, then paper pieced them into the leaf shapes in the aperture.  I cut the Family Tree again in sand card then glued into place over the leaf shapes, into the aperture.  Next I cut several sections of the Garden Gate and fence out of chestnut brown card.  I used one gate and lined up the fence pieces to the width of the card and attached them with mounting foam, leaving the gate to open if desired.  I cut the grass sections in a couple of shades of green card and glued them beneath the fence.  I left a small gap in them at the gate so it could be opened, by drew in some grass there with a marker.  I cut the Thank you from the In The Garden Shadow box in white and brown and shadowed it, then attached it above the gate area.  The card was completed with white mats and layers.  The finished dimensions are 7" x  71/2" in size.  All for now, Sue x

Lovely card Sue, so gorgeous. Happy Friday to you.
Crafty Jo, so you are a biker bird, much braver than me, I think you should be as disgraceful as you like. You enjoy your bike.
Laine, good to see you back, glad you had a lovely birthday. Never mind the age, it's how you carry it that counts.
I'm so enjoying all the memories of the cars owned, brings back many hapoy times. Yorkie girl, think you have me mixed up with Isadora Duncan, lol.
Elaine, hope the test run on the rally wheels went well. Hugs to Andrew and Heken.
Yvonne, your poor Mum, floored by a blueberry, thought they were good for you, super fruits and all.
Pat, hope the wedding goes well, you are very talented doing the flowers, enjoy the day.
Well, think the proverbial has hit the Work fan, have to fill in a accident form at work today regarding the dust I may have inhaled then I will be seen by the Senior Management team. Oh heck. Watch this space.
Hugs to all, especially our poorly and missing friends, take care all.

So pleased to see you do that card Sue. I've been wanting to do a card with the tree and fence on, but didn't know what to do with the background. I thought it might look odd just on white, but you've shown me that it doesn't look odd at all. Good idea inking the clouds.

Really great card, Sue, do love the tree die - it's in danger of being overused here. Nice touch with the opening gate, too.
Pam, so they're taking you seriously at last, perhaps your colleague too? Thanks as ever for your summary and echoing.
Well, sports cars! In our pre-marriage days, Mr P had a Fiat Oska Cabriolet which are quite rare, and sold it as he couldn't afford to maintain it. He shortly after had the opportunity to buy another for restoration and we have carted it around through 3 house moves and it's currently in a barn (overgrown with all sorts) and won't EVER be attended to, but he has a great affection for it. Plus it's got a super number plate too - not connected to him - which could be worth loads of dosh. He still dreams!!
Laine, sorry you've been poorly. Also apologies for not mentioning your birthday, did realise that your bestie was stirring it!
Hugs.

Good morningn Sue and the happy band of Wilsonettes,
I love this card but for me the best part is the fact that the gate opens up to let you into the garden. Hey we all know that simple things please simple minds and this is a simple thing but oh so fun. This would make a lovely card if you were having a family reunion and you could add in extra branches and leaves to make the tree grow as the family grows or as you go back in time researching your ancestors. This is one that has got my wee brain in a whirl now Sue at all the possiblities and combinations that it can be. Thank you flower for another fantastic card with many opportunities to make it into whatever you need or want.
Well we have a lovely day here at the Ochil hills today and it is so quiet and peaceful just being able to hear the birds tweeting away as they fly through the sky. O.H. has found that the top of his wood pile bunker is the perfect place to be able to feed the birds and it not collapse on him or them which is more to the point. Out here at Glenochil you are just far enough into the countryside to see a lot of nature living and going around it's day but near enough civilisation that you can get a loaf or milk with a 30 minute walk there and back or in my case as scooter ride although it is only for a few miles at most so might just be chancing my arm trying to go the mile and half there and back on my scooter.
Pam, more than most they have a duty of care to their employees and should know better. The gov is oh so good at telling all the other employers and making all these rules and regulations that must be adhered to, is that only do as i say and not as i do scenario i wonder? They will be frightened that you might sue them over their neglect to make sure that working environment was safe to be in. Don't let them frighten or bully you flower and it's obviously not just an isolated case if one of your team mates is suffering from the same symptoms, but it does make me wonder how many more people in that office has the same symptoms as you both? Sending you hugs to keep you going and your spirit up.
Elaine, i hope that your John gets on fine at the opticians but see when his catarrachs are "ripe", the lazer treatment is amazing at restoring almost 20/20 vision. So i hope that it won't be long until he is at that stage because it gives back so much that you only realise when you can't see, so the wonderment of seeing bright and beautiful, small and intricate is brilliant. Glad Andrew and Helen are both feeling so much better in their own way.
Laine flwoer i hope that you are feeling a bit brighter because it's lovely to see you back again even if PP does need a big wooden spurtle to stir it up, i think she just loves to torment you, lol. Did you have a good birthday though? i do hope so as it is the one day in the year that is truly yours and you should be spoilt. Sending you hugs flower.
Ok that's me washing done and out, Rory at college, with only the big kid left in the house and oh how it can't come soon enough for him starting back his work. Sending hugs to all the Wilsonettes that need, want or could do with them, they are yours for the taking,
Love and crafty hugs

Hi Sue, I really like this card. The tree is so versatile and I love the paper pieced leaves. The fence with the opening gate is lovely and I agree with Donita - there should be a little cat sitting behind the gate looking at a bird in the tree. I wonder if the ones in the 3D Window Box & Accessories set would fit?

Pam - I will be watching :-) It's good that they are taking you seriously and I hope that they do something about it and soon.

Laine - good to have you back and I'm glad you had a lovely birthday.

Hello Sue,
Great card today, I do like that tree die and it's shown in all it's glory here.
Pam, try not to worry as hopefully they will be wondering if you could sue them for unsafe working practices! Hope your chest is much better.
Elaine, glad to see that Andrew and Helen are feeling better, good luck to John - they don't make you wait until your cataracts are ripe up in Newcastle, if you need them done, they do them.
Rosemary, enjoy your company - 37 years eh, there'll be some changes!!
Yorkiegirl, for some reason your Biggles mention brought to mind Russ Abbot with the scarf which stood out at right angles!!!
Alimecca pet, you might feel like a beached whale - but I look like one ha ha.
Laine, who is this PP, with friends like that - well, what can I say!! Glad you had a lovely day and would like confirm that there is no truth in the rumour that I'm jealous because you are so young grrr lol.
PP, well a few of us swallowed Laine's age hook, line and sinker you little devil ha ha. I fancy a trip to town and must keep an eye out for giant blueberries!! Alas, I fear it will be another month or more before I venture that far, but I'll surround myself with foam rubber just in case!!! Is it this weekend that the wrinklies are visiting?
'P' my son in law has been "working" on their MGB for over 20 years. George reupholstered the seats and inside of the doors (his occupation before retiring) and son in law has done all sorts of mechanical and electrical things so it does look great but it only comes out now and again for a "run around" and it's main function is to take it out of the garage, polish and buff it, stand back and admire it, and then put it back again!!! MEN lol
Love to all, especially those who are poorly or lonely and their carerss.

Hi Sue

A very different design from you. I like it. It is lovely. Love the paper pieced leaves. Thanks for sharing.

Laine – Welcome back, Sunshine! Glad, you had a lovey day.
Elaine – Hugs for you all.
Pam – Hope everything goes well. Good luck!
PP – P from Pinocchio?

This week was a roller coaster for me so far:
Wednesday – happy day, two sellers sent me emails to let me know that my orders have been shipped out (one from US and the other one is the only Canadian store that carries SW’s dies and stamps).
Thursday – I checked in the morning both orders, to see the status of the them, the one from Canadian store suppose to be delivered yesterday. My jaw dropped when I read Canada Post’s message: the parcel had been sent back to the seller due to incomplete address! I sent an email to the seller; no answer so far.
The order from a US store, very small order, looked OK till I saw the weight: 20lbs (equivalent of 9 kg)! For this one I have to pay additional taxes, customs fees or brokerage fees upon delivery and charges are calculated based on the weight of the total package, so I sent them a nice little email. Their answer was not to be worried because the package has the right label with the right weight 3.4oz = 2lbs. To be or not to be worried? I am.
And the cherry on the cake was the mail from my bank. They decided to do some changes effective as of June 1 … they added a 2.5% foreign currency mark-up rate to foreign currency transactions you make. That means they will convert the transaction into CND dollars at the exchange rate, plus in addition to the exchange rate you will be charged another 2.5% for each foreign currency transaction. The life is getting better in Canada!
Friday – a different day, hope for better news. What else to do?

In this note,
Happy Friday everyone!
Still a newbie to Craft / Not longer the newest, or the only Canadian Wilsonette

Evening Sue
Absolutely wonderful. Simple but utterly stunning. And this is another card that can be used for those awkward men x
I do have the family tree die and it is a beauty and definitely not the one trip pony that one might expect from a tree x
It cuts beautifully and is perfect to add delicate foliage to any cards if the leaves are used. It can be bold and bright or soft and subtle depending on which colours or mediums are used x
Thanks for sharing this beauty Sue x
Well I hope you will excuse my little prank at Laine's expense yesterday. I hope it caused a little laughter. I thought it was hilarious and it got her back on the blog even if it was to defend her reputation. I know she will attempt to get me back. For the record I will be 49 in July and will be celebrating my fabulous 50th next year with bells on x
Pam - I hope everything went in your favour at work x
Elaine - glad Andrew is going well and Helen is improving x
Norah - I don't use a wooden spurtle for my stirring and mixing things up - an industrial strength mixer works much more efficiently for my mischievous meddling x
Tracy - I may be naughty and even nutty but I am really nice - honest. Go on admit it - it made you smile x
Maureen - it's not the blueberries you should worry about - it's the melons - they're like space hoppers x
Carmen - how frustrating for you. Maybe you should move over here. And by the way P is for princess (obviously) as well as perfect, pretty, prudent peachy and phenomenally pretty - and I know fine well that Laine will do her best to tell you otherwise x
Laine - am I forgiven? I just couldn't help myself. I bet your mum thought it was funny x
Well my firstborn, my angel, my little baby boy Jake is 25 tomorrow. That thought is more daunting than my 50th! Where did that time go? He doesn't know what he's doing but the family tradition of a takeaway is a definite. Suits me - let's me off the hook with the cooking x
OK my lovely fellow Wilsonettes. Happy thoughts and lots of love to you all, especially my blog besties and our absent friends x
Take care
