For You

Hi there crafters!  A shadowed make for today's blog card.  I cut the Cathedral Background once in coconut white card and a second time in black card, leaving a wide border margin around the edge.  I glued the black die behind the white one and slightly offset it for the shadow.  I glued it to a piece of Blue Dusk card so it showed through the cut out areas.  I cut the centre out of each of them using the smaller oval in the set.  I cut the decorative centre piece out of a piece of white card, placed a sticky adhesive sheet on the back of it and glittered the front with Diamond Snow.  I placed it behind the aperture in the frame and secure it into place.  I used the two ovals to cut a thin frame for it which I mounted up on foam.  I stamped my sentiment and cut it out with the small oval from the Zoe set.  I matted it with blue and a black shadow and glued in the centre of the frame.  I created a seam binding flower by using the redline tape method and cut into the ribbon to create a fringed flower.  I topped it with a Black Dazzler in the centre and seated it on thin satin ribbon and tulle.  I made two matching stick pins as accents.  I pierced a white mat for it, then added a thin blue and black mat and a wider white mat layer to complete the card.  The finished dimensions are 7 1/2" x  9 1/2" in size.  All for now, Sue x

Morning Sue and all Wilsonettes, a lovely card today, I don't think I have seen you make the flower using seam binding (or was I asleep at the time), so I will have to check back through your video's to see if it is there. Unless you know exactly which one it was on.

Stay safe, healthy and happy, hugs, June Smith xxx

Good morning Sue and the Wilsonettes,
This is a lovely card in these colours for a man in our lives that minus the flower and ribbons but there are some, rare i know, but there are some men that would love this card just as it is. What a great unisex card Sue with just the minor of alterations that the other species on our planet would love equally as much. The way that you have staggered the black just to highlight or pop the design is my amount of black i think, lol. It would make a beautiful wedding card as well for art deco weddings and with the lucky blue in it would give the good luck as well as the wedding card. Thank you Sue for another WOW that we can play with and see what we can make differently with the dies. I hope that you are bit better but sending you some hugs anyway just to keep your chin up and know that you are thought about flower.
Well what a day yesterday turned out to be and i can only hope that i don't need to paddle amongst the wet and slush like yesterday that hardly got above freezing. My hills are so dark in their colours today with a tiny touch of snow shaken over the top of them. Anyway i will leave by sending hugs to Claire, Wheelybad and my other Wilsonettes friends that are going through a rough time at the moment and to any others that could just do with that hug.
Love and crafty hugs

Afternoon dear friend. Isn't it amazing just what a little black shadow can do to 'lift' what would otherwise be a plain card, plain, but still beautiful. I don't think I've seen you actually make that style flower before. I've seen you use red liner tape on sheer ribbon but it's looked totally different, this almost resembles your cornflower die without all the separate cuts if that makes sense !
I've actually been in my craft room for the first time since my similar nightmare at Christmas and in the middle of doing an adaptation of yesterday's card. I've used the same triplet one either side but just cut the small middle diamond die in the middle as my card wasn't cut big enough to accommodate the three cuts, but using the Montreal for the centre still looks nice. Just need to add a few flowers then it's complete. Used one of Phills papers beneath the triplet and it all tones in lovely, so thank you Sue for your inspiration.
I shall send my love and caring thoughts to you this Friday. Still on my mind, especially when that wave appears xxx

Hi sue
I'm late tonight. Lovely card as always an I just love the wee flower. Xx

Alimecca. Allison. Ur poor wee cat. An no it's not stupid to do this for a cat. I have no children yet and when I had my cat (cass) he was my baby and I did everything I could for him towards the end and he was nearly 16. I would've spent every last penny I had if I could've kept him going longer. But they can be just as much part of any family. Sadly he'd had good innings and it was his time but I still can't bring myself to bring a new one into my home and it's been several years.
So yes I understand exactly why ur doing what ur doing and he will thank u for it I hope he gets better soon xx
