Good Sunday morning all! Today's card showcases one of the stamps to die for range that coordinates with the
Alexandra die set. I started by embossing a piece of
wisteria card with the
Bed of Roses embossing folder for texture. To that I added two of the
Corvus Gemini die cut in white and backed with
Wisteria card, raised on foam to the sides of the card. For the focal element, I stamped the
Alexandra's Tea Rose stamp in black and used coloured pencils to colour and shade the roses and butterfly. I inked the image lightly while still in the die with
Tumbled Glass Distress ink for a soft blue background. I stamped the sentiment, then cut it out with the oval from the
Zoe die set and mounted it on to the stamped image. I completed the card with a pierced white mat, a wisteria mat and another final white mat. The finished dimensions are 7 3/4" x 8 3/4" in size.

this is such a beautiful card Sue with the stamped image of the roses and the way that you have coloured them in to take on such a life like look. I wonder if you had as much fun and relaxation in colouring them as i do with my pencils and pens. It is the one thing about stamping that i love and that is i can go back to my childhood pleasure of colouring in again. A gorgeous, gorgeous card Sue and so worth a day on the blog to let us see it in all its glory. The colours that you have used are so soft and would suit so many events just because of it's content and colouring. Thank you flower for bringing us such a beautiful piece of inspiration today. I hope that you are managing to struggle through as some days i know are just so hard but i am sending you hugs to keep you going and hopefully let you know that you are thought about oh so much.

Well it's another rainy day here at the Wee County where the mist is sort of hovering over my beautiful hills to prevent them from shining through but it makes all the colours nice and bright again when it stops which is always worth a second look. I hope that all you are having a good Sunday where ever you are and that what ever the weather you have some reason to have sun shining out from your hearts. Always nice to see you get back to your stamping roots because you do it so well, I'm really impressed with your colouring skills, you have added great depth and texture to the flowers, they are simply stunning. The soft purple tones of the flowers work so well with the wisteria cardstock, a lovely combination. The Alexandra and Corvus dies work beautifully together and manage to make a statement without taking the focus away from the main event, the stamped image. Another triumph Sue, thanksxxxx
Apologies for my absence these past couple of days, I wish that I could say that I had been whisked away by George Clooney on a romantic break in Paris....ok, he's happily married but this is a fantasy after all:-).....where he wined and dined me, took me up the Seine on a cruise and drove me to Versailles by stretch limo.......when the reality of the situation is that I've had a chronic migraine since Friday that is refusing to budge despite my insides rattling with Tramadol and paracetamol! I wouldn't mind so much if I had done something to necessitate it like drinking another bottle of champagne through a straw, but no, I've been as good as gold.
So my best intentions to get back into my craftroom this weekend have fallen by the wayside- I really need to rediscover my mojo in time for my friend Gills craft afternoon when we will be making our Mother's Day cards....what would we do without Sue and her endless supply of inspiration?
Alison, I do hope Scamp is on the mend and not too distressed about her confinement, I would be beside myself because they are as good as babies to us and it hurts to see them suffer. Cats are very resilient though, and I am sure that Scamp will rise to the challenge. When Brodie was a kitten he had a little accident where he pulled some muscles in his back legs after an over zealous jump and he was confined for a few days too,and daft though it may sound, we never left him alone and slept on the couch next to his cage in shifts:-) big hugs to you and Scampxxxx

I'll have to look into purchasing the Alexandra's Tea Rose stamp. It's what stands out when I look at this card. As lovely as everything else on this card is, for me it all pales into insignificance next to the Tea Rose.
