Can't Wait To Share

Hello bloggers!  I have been very excited to share with you something completely new for me.  I have had a go at designing my own paper pad and it has just been launched at our trade show this past week.  I didn't get to see it until I returned home recently and I have to say that I am over the moon with the way it has come out!  I had a bit of time after the trade show and sat down to create a few cards with it to share with you.  Here is the first one featuring the soft blue colour and one of the pattern designs.  The pad is called Classic Elegance and consists of three major patterns that have three coordinating patterns so six in total and they are all done in four colour choices, with four of each to use.  They are all pastel backgrounds with patterns printed in white for a very soft look and they coordinate with our Foundations card very nicely too.  There are 48 sheets in total and the pad is 8" x  8" in size.  It is now available to ship to your favourite retailers, so if you like it, please ask them to carry it!  I have included a picture at the end of the post of what it looks like too.  For today's card, I cut an aperture in the upper part of the blue patterned design using the Lauren die.  I cut the decorative part of that die out of white card and added a piece of white card behind it that I had glittered with Diamond Snow.  I raised the background piece up with foam for dimension and added the decorative piece behind.  I cut a white on white Ravello Striplet to use under the focal element.  I tied a messy bow out of white seam binding and then created a flower using the same decorative paper as the background.  I used the Complete petal Peony for this and added the matching white edge to it.  I seated it on my bow and added a few Lace Edged Leaves around it.  I stamped my sentiment and cut it with the smaller oval die from the Lauren.  I cut a glittered mat for it to sit on using the slightly larger oval from the set.  I cut two more smaller flowers out of the decorative card, with matching white edges to seat on the top of the sentiment.  The card was completed with a pierced white mat, a thin blue mat and another white mat.  The finished dimensions are 7" x  8" in size.  I will try to get another sample up for you this week showcasing a different pattern and colour from the paper pad.  Well, what's the verdict (she asks sheepishly), do you like it?  All for now, Sue x

Hi Sue. Gorgeous card and of course I love your paper pad - need you ask!!! At first glance at the card I thought you'd made your own background by stamping and embossing, to find that it was your new paper designs was brilliant. The patterns are subtle and very usable, I don't think it will be long before it sells out. Sue XXX

Hello Sue and all
Very pretty card and yes, the background papers are lovely, soft and pastel to use in our favourite Sue Wilson style cards. I have to agree I am not into the bright background papers and have quite a stash from mixed pads I have bought over the years which I may never use. Will be checking to see if I can get these here in Oz.

Hi Sue
Lovely card. Your paper pad looks great, such nice soft colours and double sided too!
It's great to have papers with small patterns as they can be used on any size card, sometimes big patterns just look wrong on
small cards and overwhelm it and as someone who generally uses 6 x 6 cards this is just perfect. Thank you Sue, will be keeping my
eyes open for your pad on my favourite online site. x

Good morning sue and the wilsonettes,
This is a pretty, pretty card Sue, so soft in colour but so pretty. I have the Glasgow show this weekend coming so i am on the look out for a few dies of yours, but top of the list is the Lauren as it is so beautiful and maybe a few more besides, hee hee. I notice that you have made your paper pad a decient weight so that it can be multi purpose and not that thin skinny stuff that to me is printer or photo copier paper. At this weight it is lovely and malable for the flowers but also heavy enough to use as a backing paper although i would take the middle out of the hidden mat just so i wasn't wasting it, but hey i'm a Scot so what else would you expect. Thank you Sue for such a pretty card and the inspiration that you set alight inside of me when you show your wonderful creations.
Well folks its short and sweet this morning as i have to go to Stirling so i will wish you all a good day and sending hugs to all that need them

Hi Sue, a very pretty card and I love your new papers. I like using papers, mostly for background interest, and these colours and designs are right up my street. Congratulations on a job well done.

Alison - what great news about Scamp, their powers of recovery always amaze me. I am so pleased for you both.

Tracy - hope today's planning scan went well and I'll be thinking of you tomorrow as you go through your last chemo.

I agree Lorraine we get other big companies but not creative expressions. That's why I stopped going to the show. It's getting smaller every year. So I save the money that I would've spent traveling, lunch, entry fee etc and treat myself to a new die! Lol

Did sue and Julia not do a class at craftworld? In Hillingdon a few years ago on a craft tour? I missed it as usual I was raging!! Lol x

Good evening lovely Sue and her crafty crew!

Is there no end to your talents dear Sue? I find it so endearing that you still have doubts over how well your innovations will be received, we are your adoring public and you can do no wrong in my eyes. The papers are candylicious, I love the soft pastel tones and the delicate design is so appealing- I don't often use patterned papers anymore but these could definitely convert me back to using them again.
I love the design of today's card, the Lauren die is stunning in its intricacy and the Ravello striplet is a beautiful touch- I love the patterned peonies and the new lace edged leaves, they really add a stunning finish and I am so glad I bought them the other day.
Well done Sue and good luck with your new range....not that you'll need it:-)
After teasing me all weekend I finally got my new dies today and the orange blossom stamps:-) I get such a sense of satisfaction unwrapping them, arranging my die folders and putting them on their magnetic sheets in the right folder....I have fifteen folders now, mainly SW stuff, and each holds a certain category such as the noble collection, finishing touches or striplet and Gemini collections...a bit OCD I know but it gives me a warm happy glow to see them stored properly. I wonder if there is a collective noun to describe a group of metal die enthusiasts? If not, there should be, it could be Wilsonettes in honour of the best die designer in the known world, what do you think?:-)
I can tell that you think I have too much time on my hands, and you'd be correct because I am twiddling my thumbs waiting for something exciting to happen instead of being productive and actually using the dies!??! If it wasn't for the daily inspiration I get from Sue I would be a sad, hopeless case.....
Lots of news on the Hochanda front, Crafters Companion are jumping ship from C&C and so is Debbie Shore! It seems that they must be just as fed up with the saturation of Tattered Lace and Hunkydory products and the focus on hard sell rather than informative demos as the viewers are....is this the beginning of the end for C&C I wonder?
Lorraine and Tracy, I too would dearly love for Sue and the CE team to travel North of the border- having to travel down to London and Birmingham isn't easy and I would love to meet the experts personally, maybe they will consider a trip if we beg them enough:-)
Tracy, thinking of you for tomorrow, what a momentous day, it's a huge hurdle to overcome so well done you sweetie, onwards and upwards! Have you any nice plans for your birthday?
Alison, hope Scamp is well and managing to be sensible and a good girlxx
Lorraine, hope you are okay, it's been a while....hugs to other absent buddies such as Yvonne, Beth, deb c, Rebecca, Saba,Maria , and Melodyxxx
Extra hugs to Pam, Wheely Bad, Theresa, Lindaxxxx

Sue, your new papers are wonderful. Hope I can get them in the USA. Your card today is beautiful. So many elements in this one. I am working on Easter cards now, and I am using your dies to do so. I started with your resist technique. I could not find my crayons, but remembered I had household "clear" wax in bars for using on top of jelly. Guess what? The wax bars work just fine and I was able to do the resist. Yeah! Now if I can "see" the recessed areas correctly to put my layers together on the card, I will be very pleased with myself. Wishing you a peaceful and wonderful week.

The Lauren die is so pretty & delicate, definitely one for the ladies.
Together with the decorative Ravello die & beautiful Peony flowers & leaves adds the perfect finishing touch to another 'Sue' creation.
Love your new paper pad designs & the colours are perfect plus being 8 x 8 the perfect size & must get a couple of those as soon as I can find to buy.
