GM Sue. Very lovely indeed. I made 2 of your teared tissue backgrounds yday following your blog post. I managed to find some blue tissue I knew I had somewhere in my stash that hasn't seen the light of day for a while! I left them to dry overnight and they look good this morning. Just need to put them under a book today to flatten them out a bit and tomorrow I look forward to gilding them as I am busy doing other things today. Happy weekend.

The ruby red and white together produce a sharp but elegant card. I have filled in with red berry pv glue to get the red colour but think I prefer this method, it certainly is faster. Thanks for showing how to do it.

Hello Sue & WW!
Another beautiful card! I agree it might be too time consuming for batch cards, but so worth it for a special few! You are so smart Sue to think of embossing onto the red card to use as a cutting template! I love the poinsettias with the blinged edges! I have this striplet die so I'll be giving it a try (that is when I finally get started on Christmas cards....I know, some of you are already finished...I'm just not disciplined enough to get things done ahead of time :-( I also have the holly mini striplet and this technique would be pretty with that too.
Jan from Long Island, in reference to your comment: I just saw a bumper sticker the other day with the phrase "fight like a girl!". At first i was a little offended because the phrase has always been used in a derogatory way, but then i saw the pink ribbon and immediately got it. i really like it! Us "girls" are incredibly strong and resilient! whether we are battling cancer or other illnesses ourselves or caring for a loved one, we go toe to toe with it and come out as winners. It doesn't mean we don't have times of fear and doubt and anger and sadness and even lose some battles- but we keep getting back up and fighting the fight. That is what makes us winners! We don't ask to step in the ring, but if thrown in, we come up swinging! Tracy, Melody - we're in your corner cheering you on!
Melody, we share a birthday! if at all possible, treat yourself somehow today ok? maybe with a little extra sleep or some cuddles with Milly?
Laine, i didn't regularly watch St. Elswhere, but happened to catch one memorable episode in which Mark Harmon's character got a certain body part caught in his pants zipper! Caught my attention! (his gorgeous face is what caught my attention of course) and i've been a fan ever since. I love Abby too. I'm a big fan of Bones as well, maybe even more than NCIS (but NCIS is my husband's favorite). Kathy Reichs has been one of my favorite authors for a long time so i was already familiar with the character of Temperence Brennen. The show is different than the books, but very enjoyable in its own right. I like crime shows (and books) too-something about the bad guys getting caught draws me in!
sorry for all the typos and missed capitalizations I'm using my ipad and obviously dont have auto correct on. i guess i've come to rely on it more than i thought - on my phone and on a regular computer!
My hubby wants to take me up to a pretty, little tourist town in the mountains for my bday and since he much prefers to be a home body, i better get some sleep so i can get up and ready before he changes his mind!
heartfelt hugs & happy crafting to all...Rebecca in Colorado
almost forgot...congrats Carol! As long as you give the card a good home, i'll try to only be a wee bit jealous :o)

Good Evening Sue and fab Wilsonettes,

What an eye catching yet elegant card, definitely one for the must do list. I haven't managed to watch the video yet but I can tell that i am going to enjoy it as I have done with all of your Festive themed demos. I have this particular striplet so it may mark my very first Chrimbo card later this week:-)
I'm fashionably late with my comment today, had another hectic day shopping and visiting an old antique emporium in Doune, Stirling- it was a lovely place but antiques aren't really my thing I'm afraid, my OCD doesn't feel comfortable with the thought that somebody I don't know has already owned and used it. I did see some old postcards of where my Nana used to work and the street I went to primary school on before the school was built in 1888. There were also some half crowns from Charles I I 's reign and the original drawings from the 1970 Laura Ashley clothes collection. Felt quite tired after 5 long hours, only to return home and let Brodie out by accident as my Dad left:-( Didn't have the energy to chase him so sat at the window watching for 1hr 30mins until he sauntered back home, I was a nervous wreck by this stage but oh so happy to see him.
Melody, such a shame that you've slept your birthday away but you obviously needed the rest, hopefully you'll feel the benefit tomorrowxx
Rebecca, hope you have a lovely day in the mountains with your hubby, happy birthday!
Frances, many congratulations on reaching the 45 yr mark, what an achievement!....my mum and dad would have been married 46 yrs this year....if they hadn't got divorced:-) But seriously, well done, hope you had a lovely day, and maybe a Sue Wilson goody from your hubby?
Think I'll get an early night after I've given the babies their supper, more M&S prawns! See you all bright and early tomorrow xxx

Love and crafty hugs,

Laine1972xxx

PS. Congrats to this weeks winner of Sues gorgeous card!Me?Jealous?......xxx

Loving the red and white as it's so crisp and clean.
A different style which is lovely.
Bought a new die today the Pyxis, going to have a play tomorrow so can't wait :)
It was brilliant to get out today. I have Fibromyalgia and spend most of my time at home which is why crafting is so important to me.
Sending love and hugs to all in need

Evening Sue
Stunning, seasonal and exquisite card. This is right up my street. I have not got the Mini Poinsettia striplet but have got the holly one so will try and do a variation on a theme. The red and white is so striking. Have not watched the video yet but will look forward to doing so.
Loved yesterdays card and both colours are equally captivating. This is another technique I must attempt - I have all the 'ingredients'!
Congratulations Carol on your win x
Well, I didn't comment yesterday (Friday) as I managed to render myself out of action for the day. After appreciating the good weather on Thursday I managed to get a mountain of washing done, hung out, dried and I even bought it in myself - this is something that at the end of the day I usually have to rely on the boys to do, or it stays on the line all night! I managed to hoover (1 room) and prepared the evening meal and then managed to iron (only for 8 minutes). I should have known better as this kind of activity in one day is unheard of for me. Anyway, went to bed and just could not sleep. Decided to get up and have a drink and should have sat quietly.
Was feeling terribly proud of myself for having been able to tick off a large chunk of my to do list that I decided that I would have a go at Sue's fabulous paved pearl technique which has been put off for such a long time. After all - what harm could it do - I was on a roll!! Big mistake. I am terribly pleased to tell you that the results were rather good - far better than I had hoped but because it was so much easier than I had anticipated I got carried away and 2 hours later, many scraps of paper later and a dining room table covered in samples of every imaginable colour and size of said technique, I realised that I had overdone things!! I crawled back upstairs at about 4am and there I stayed until about 6pm this evening.
Could have been worse. If I had seen the scrunched tissue technique before this I think the temptation would have overwhelmed me completely and I would probably ended up in bed until this time next week.
I am feeling terribly satisfied after a marvellous dose of strictly. Apart from the obvious, (that being the fit male professional bottoms) I think we may have ourselves a rather good series. I am so delighted for Anton. It actually looks like he may have a chance of seeing the shows into November and possibly beyond! I do hope so. I really like him - he is incredibly witty and his dancing is not bad either!!
Need to split my comment as I just know that it is going to be far too long. Sorry!!!

Tracy - so sorry that your results were not what you and everyone else had hoped for. We are all keeping our fingers tightly crossed that you are able to deal with whatever lies ahead. Try and stay strong and be positive - although this is easier said than done I know. Sending love and hugs x
Rebecca, Alison and Maureen - NCIS - brilliant - Abbie is adorable. Mark Harmon - well all I'll say is - I would!!!!
Rebecca - this blog is a Godsend isn't it. Appreciate the little things and be thankful is my motto and I do manage it most of the time. Happy Birthday toooooo yoooooo x
Wheely Bad - it was lovely to 'see you'. Sorry you aren't feeling so good.
Fluffycat - Happy Anniversary. 45 years - wowee x
Lorraine - I remember St Elsewhere - I loved it. Mark Harmon was such a dreamboat then and got to say still is. NCIS is fab because he is in it but that aside it is a really brilliant show. Used to be an avid viewer of Bones but not recently. Which channel is it on - lost track. Love any of the CSI's but am now watching mostly repeats so know who did it!! I also like a bit of Vampire Diaries and the spin off show - The Originals. Sounds like all I do is watch tv but the reality is that as I spend so much time fatigued and unable to partake in activity, be it housework or crafting, then the tv is constantly on.
You got me thinking about all the brilliant programmes I used to watch - in my more youthful days. Does anyone remember a program called This Life? It was about a group of young lawyers all living in a house together. Fantastic. And does anyone actually mind admitting to watching Prisoner Cell Block H with it's wobbly walls? Lol. Sadly, I used to love that as well. So many more gems spring to mind but we can save those for another day.
But does anyone remember Spangles???
Battenberg and Arctic Roll - heaven. Sadly these can no longer be on my list of food to resort to when in need of comfort food. I have to follow a gluten free diet. I have found myself tucking into a large block of marzipan if things are really bad - and I am not talking about a little delicate bar covered in chocolate from Thornton's or M & S - I am talking the large block found in the baking aisle in the supermarket.
I must now stop dribbling. I agree with you - I do think Nadia could nail this years Bake Off. I really like her x
Melody - Hope you were a little spoilt as it was your Birthday. You are never far from my thoughts at the moment and I am once again sending you and yours love and hugs x
Sandra - where are you hun. Missing you. Hope you are ok. Sending you love and a big hug x
Ok - it is now early hours of Sunday and my eyes are refusing to stay open.
Take care everyone.
Nite nite
Crafty hugs
Yvonne

I love the poinsettia striplet die but disappointed because I thought there would be a set that would match the poinsettia's that you could cut out for behind the flower. I tried the idea on the video but could not get it to match. You should make a set that would cut out the flower behind it as well as for the holly striplet too.

Love your cards

Beautiful card and video. Haven't got this striplet yet. Maybe I can try something similar with one of the ones I have got. Then again I could just treat myself!
Congratulation Carol on your win.
Hope you had a Happy Birthday, Rebecca. Hope you had a lovely anniversary, Frances.
Melody, not the way you would have chosen to spend your birthday but you must have really needed that sleep.

Beautifully executed with the mini striplet three times across the background and the red placed behind each Poinsettia. Goes beautifully with all white. Brilliant and stunning Christmas card!
