Never Far From Home

Hello bloggers!  Today's card showcases a bit of stamping for a change.  I started with the background and embossed the Quilted Flower in coconut white for a bit of texture.  Next I stamped the Tulips in black and coloured them with Distress markers, using Milled Lavender and Forest moss.  I cut the flowers out with the Auvergne die, leaving in the die and inking the edges with Milled Lavender distress ink for a soft frame effect.  I cut a piece of mauve card using the larger die in the set for a mat.  I stamped just the tulips again, coloured them and cut them out to add on to the original flowers with mounting foam.  I shaped the flowers a bit with a stylus too to give them dimension.  I stamped my sentiment and cut it out with the Justrite tag die from the  Vintage Labels Seven die set.  I shaded it with Milled Lavender too before removing it from the die.  I mounted it across the stems with foam.  I added an Itty Bitty Mosaic and Classic bow made out of mauve and white card.  The bow is just the right size for these flowers, don't you think?  I cut an Austrian border in white and added it below my die cut for a little extra detail.  I mounted this piece on a wide white border and filled it in with my Paved Pearl technique using Cosmic Shimmer white PVA glue dots in varying sizes to achieve the effect.  A thin mauve mat and a finally white mat completed the card.  The finished dimensions are 7" x  8 1/2" in size.  I hope everyone has a great weekend!  All for now, Sue x

Morning Sue
It's lovely to start the day with a bunch of flowers and what could be better than a beautiful bouquet of Tulips just to remind us that Spring is coming despite all the horrible weather at the moment. I love your colour palette today so soft and gentle and yes your tiny bow is just made for such a wonderful finishing touch.

Nana Tina - many congratulations on your new Granddaughter.
Saba - The good old Royal Mail just is anymore. We have realatives who live in Holland and have stopped sending parcels to them as we have had so many never arrive. My daughter posted my Bday Present to me here in Burgundy last year. It never arrived. It did turn up 9 months later back at her post box. It was in a right state - had been opened put in other packaging and minus one or tow pieces. Now she sells on Ebay and so is always very very care re packaging so the parcel hadn't been packed incorectly. I ordered from C&C on 1st Jan for it to be sent here and as yet it hasn't arrived. So I sympathize with you.
Steph - hope you manage your creation today for Mr.L.
Sandra - so pleased you three had a good day. I can imagine you all sat round a table machines at the ready cup of coffee to hand and then off you all go crafting and chatting.
Norah - missed you again yesterday. Hope all is well.

Well it's Friday again and so off to market we go. It looks very cold out there so will be wrapped like a Yeti to brave the elements.

To all in pain and suffering hope your day gets better. To everyone please take care and stay safe. See you tomorrow.

Hi Sue,

Pretty tulip and reminding me it'll soon be spring. Suffolk may not be the coldest of places but truthfully, it's too cold for me right now! Will get around to paved pearls but as I've only just learned to not make horrid splodgy messes with the stuff I think I'll leave it till I've had a bit more practice. I love the colour too.

Happy birthday to 'the other' Sue Wilson, many happy returns and enjoy your break in the USA.

Maureen, hope you're getting better too, hugs x

The workshop I was going to tomorrow got cancelled due to tutor illness. No bad thing in a way as I can finish that evidence for the paperwork, been feeling very tired of late, so an early night and I can get it done and onto much more fun things. Got the last little bit of a card to do too. I'm pleased with this one. A tidy up and onto Billys new bed cover after. Have some more crochet hats on the go. Keep getting orders!

The 'boys' are home from their evening walk so I must go. Stay warm and safe

Hi Sue,

Your paved pearls are a work of art in themselves. One day I will pluck up the courage to try it, but knowing me I would get to the last one and then smudge the lot!!!

Janet, do tell when your parcel arrives, I thought I was still waiting a long time but yours really takes the biscuit .
Alison, hope the steroids and antibiotics kick in soon and you get a better nights sleep but to add to your problem the pain from your rib won't help. I'm Asthmatic too so I know how awful it can get. Sending you loving healing hugs.

Good evening Sue and my Wilsonettes friends,
Another beautiful card Sue to be proud of in lovely colours and at least these tulips will never droop unlike their real life counterparts. I think the pave pearl look is the one kind I could achieve no problem as the regulated ones have no chance.
Sorry I have never halted the whole day and so hence the late contribution and the brain has went to sleep long ago just to get the rest of me to follow suit.
Oh Alison flower, I am so sorry that you are going through the mill the now and to have broken ribs into the bargain that hurt like Billy-oh. I am sending gentle hugs down to you dear lady although I know they can't do anything for you at least you know your friends are here in force thinking of you. Gently does it from now on I think and I hope you are feeling more like yourself soon.
Happy birthday to our other Sue Wilson, I hope that you have had a great day and been spoiled rotten.
Myra, seeing your post on ironing boards and getting the lighter one sooner, mum got given my daddy's Auntie Joeys wooden ironing board as a wedding present (don't know how long Auntie Joey had it before giving it to mum) and they would have been married 50years on 20th of March this year. It will NOT be going to Kirstens as you can imagine. It is old and rickety now and heavy so I will ask the V&A if they want it for their collection as that is probably the best place for it.
Anyway I will leave you all because the body is catching up with the brain and end by sending hugs to all the wonderful Wilsonettes on blog and not at the moment,
Love and crafty hugs
Norah (Glenochil )

Such a pretty card. Love the Austrian border over the lower part of the embossing. When I first saw the picture I thought you'd double embossed that part.
Take care everyone.
