For You

Hi bloggers!  A most unusual colour combo for me today, taupe and milk, although the pics make it look a tiny bit on the pink side.  I woke up one morning with this card in my head! LOL  It just had to be made, didn't it!  I cut four of the Ursa Gemini die out of milk coloured card using both of the cutting edges.  Next I cut four taupe ones, but without the centre decorative die, just using the two cutting edges.  I glued the pieces together and added mounting foam to them all.  I arranged them into a square, overlapping the corners slightly on a piece of milk card.  In the centre, I cut a taupe square from the Madison Square die set as a backdrop to my focal element.  Next I cut the decorative die from the Madison set in milk card,  I stamped my sentiment on to taupe card using a black archival ink pad.  I cut the centre of the Herald Square in milk and added mounting foam in thin pieces around the edge and mounted it over my sentiment.  I trimmed away the excess card around the edge and mounted it in the centre of my card.  I added some flatback cream pearls as embellishments.  I finished the card with a milk coloured mat, a thin taupe mat and a final milk mat.  I used the Cosmic Shimmer Ivory PVA glue dots all the way around the inner milk mat to give the card a nice framed look.  The finished dimensions are 8" x  8" in size.  All for now, Sue x

Hi Sue and all Wilsonettes. Boy its very white and bitter cold in Lancashire this morning. Mr L already out walking his 4 paws, poor crazy man !
What an amazing card this morning full of beauty. I just love the way you have used every die and the colour's you've used really show the delicate edges.
To our dear friends, a friendly plea. I know there is an excited frenzy re the 'suprise' but please dont give away what they are like, Im really looking forward to seeing whats in store for us and enjoy suprises so please dont spoil the excited child within some of us lol. By NO MEANS do I mean to sound stroppy, as that is not in my nature. Please be safe today if venturing out, we dont want any Wilsonette accidents.
Love and gentle hugs to those that feel unwell.
Love you.

Hi Sue
Lovely card the colour combination while different is quite elegant. Just reading some of the comments makes me feel freezing and I'm on the other side of world so hope you all manage to keep warm.

Steph Cotterill said...

A message for SHEEZYM - I dont know if you checked back at the comments after you posted your question, but this is my bit of advice and hope it helps.
Have you tried wax paper ? If you buy some wax paper (not baking greeseproof paper) but the wax paper you can buy from craft shops or Joanna Sheen, and use it between your die that gets stuck and the card you are using it releases the die a treat. You will need to use tape to stick down the wax paper to your die as if it needs turning for a 2nd pass your die may move. Make sure you have enough card to stick the tape to as sticky tape doesn't stick to wax paper very well.
Hope this makes sence to you and maybe other Wilsonettes may have some more advice that will help with your problem.
Have a good day.

morning Sue
This is a gorgeous way to finish the first months of 2015.
Today's gift is just wonderful and even though the colours are a bit wonky on the screen I bet they look lovely in real life. So much so that I'm going to try and use this combination. Here I have to admit that although I have a couple of your 'star' dies I have as yet not used them using both edges. Until this morning I just couldn't get me head around both cutting edges and so I've only used one edge. Just how daft am I. Well now both edges will be used in future (obviously my lttle grey cell hasn't been functioning 100%!!!

Steph - I'm in full agreement with you and my other Wilsonette Sisters.
SHEEZYM - I use tumble dry cloth to rub my dies that I have trouble with they also work a treat.
Wheeley Bad - sorry I missed your bday yesterday but stretch it out to today too and have a really super day. Your Cake sounds yummy so any going spare could have a home with me - wellfor a short time anyway.
Norah - I'm missing you. Hope all is well. Has anyone any contact with our lovely girl?

Well it's Friday and so it's market day for the last time this trip. Looking forward to my coffee stop this morning and of course other stops inbetween.

To all in pain or suffering I hope your days get better soon.
To everyone please take care and stay safe. See you tomorrow.

Hi Sue.

Such a clever card. Ths Gemini dies around the matting almost give it a round shape. I love those colours together. Not one I would have thought of but they'd be lovely as a wedding/ anniversary card. Very grown up and elegant. I wish I could just think up a card like that! I don't know when you are travelling back to the UK but I hope its an easy journey for you. It can't be easy leaving your family and friends, hugs to you Sue from myself and Billy xxx

The half inch of snow we had yesterday afternoon has gone, grey sky that seems will be staying a while. My weather app on my phone has a grey cloud symbol for the next 7 days. I told Mr W it was because it will be so changeable a grey cloud is an average! I know down here we are lucky to be (so far) unaffected by the snow. I know so many of you have had the wintery weather. Please stay warm and safe. Be care if walking or driving in icy conditions. All of us on and around the west and east coasts are in for some big winds, time stock up on those torch batteries in case of a power cut!

Norah, sending love and hugs to you and your family. I hope you're ok xxx

Having so many people wish me a happy birthday has been lovely. A symptom of not getting out much is that people closer to home forget so you've all made the day's (why have one day only?!) very special. Mrs. B, Janet Ecco, Maureen Killen, Jean Deane, Anne C, Sandy, Lynda, Myra, and Sandra- thank you for sending me such nice messages, plus the greetings I got earlier yesterday... I wish everyone at Particraft could be here to be fed cake ;-) I have rather over indulged though- he he he! Especially as after being in the fridge the cake came out more like a chocolate brownie... mmmm... Must make sure Mr W gets a good share of what's left, otherwise I will not fit in my chair! Poor Billy loves the smell of chocolate but as it's a doggy no go he has has plenty of his doggy choc drops, which he loves. He's been so good, not trying to pinch any. I made sure I had a selection of special treats for him. As nice as the cake is I must now go easy on it and burn some of those calories having a little craftathon I think.

Have a wonderful crafty day everyone. Sending hugs to everyone where ever you are with extra to help if you're in any sort of pain, having treatment or recovering. Stay safe and warm xxx

Beautiful combination!! I can often be found in my Craft Room in the wee hours of the morning because I will wake up with an idea and can't fall back to sleep until I get it started at least. I find that those projects are often some of my best creations!

Beautiful card Sue!
I like the majority of people have had emails about the new dies and have seen them all. It doesn't spoil the surprise at all as we have yet to see what you do with them and that is the best surprise of all. There are so many I don't have a clue where to start.

Lovely card. I really like the way you have used the Gemini die.
I keep getting an error message when I tick the "I'm not a robot" box. It's been happening for a few days now. Anyone else having the same problem?
