Good morning Sue
What a fabulous card you've given us this morning. I've just watched the video and seen how easy it is to make. Your right the dies do all the work for you. I love how you've used the corners it enhances an already beautiful die. I forget to use my smaller stamps in this way thanks for reminding me. Lavender is such a pretty colour especially when it's with white.

Morning Sue
What a beautiful gift to start a very dark and cold morning and in your lovely craft room too.
Today's gift has all the combinations anyone could want; lavender in colour; beautiful dies and just that touch of 'Sue Wilson'. Who could ask for more!!
As you say a very generic piece of art and definitely one which has gone into my 'must do' file.

Now; my day yesterday trying to make candles with candle wax that I'd got from burned out candles went not too bad to say that it was the first time I'd tried to work with wax. I was surprised just how small the amount of melted wax I got from the mountain of solid I had but I got three medium sized pots. The thing I didn't do was to save some liquid to top up as the candles cooled down leaving a dent in the middle but I'll know next time. Now the only thing to do is light one and keep fingers crossed that they burn ok.
Well after that it's back to what I know and so it's a paper crafting day. I'ved started my G.Grand-daughter's first year book so have to continue with that and hopefully do better with that.

Norah - missed you yesterday - hope all's well with you and yours and that Kirsten got the keys to her new house OK.
Sandra - Yes I do remember the programme 'The Good Life' and thoroughly enjoyed it. I have to admit that I do like to find a new life for things which have come to the end of their current lives if possible. Perhaps it's because of how I was brought up where things had to be re-used because of the lack of money. I'm sure that's where my eldest daughter gets her ways from as she tries to find a use or a home for just about everything. Not a bad way to live I think.

I hope everyone is managing to keep warm and dry having seen some of the pics of the weather you're having. I'm certainly better here. It may be bitterly cold and not getting above freezing with some winds but we have not had any snow yet. (perhaps I souldn't have said that)lol.

To anyone suffering or in pain I hope your day gets better. To everyone please take care when out and about and stay safe. See you tomorrow.

Gorgeous card, Sue, at first glance thought uh oh - another of Sue's lovely pieces of matching patterned paper but NO as the video showed, and it's created a really lovely edging to the background. The frame is also inspired with it's extra corners added. Altogether just lovely.

Hi Sue,
Thank you for a very informative video explaining how you made this lavender beauty. I Especially liked the way you mounted up your sentiment and then trimmed off the excess, I had one of those -:"why didn't I think of that" moments when I watched you do this. That's one of the reasons we all love watching your videos, whatever level of crafter we are, there is always something new to learn from watching you. So thank you for sharing.
The card is gorgeous and I did have a go at emulating it when you showed it on your November launch, but now, having watched the video I think I will have another go and see if I can improve on my first attempt.

Good afternoon Sue and the wonderful Wilsonettes,
this is so pretty today Sue, so delicate looking and in such a pretty colour scheme. What you could do to this card to make it suit a special occasion or in a particular colour favourite with the person to make it personal to them. Thank you Sue for bringing another beauty to us today.
You know how we never make a mistake just a crafty inspiration well i think that was me last night. I had taken a topper out of one of my Hunkydory kits and the background card to match and had a brainwave. So i cut the sentiment out of the topper and mounted it on gold and then had it standing proud of the topper which i put on foam squares as well and added it to a third of the background card and this is where the brain failed considerable as i didn't cut down the length of the background and when i put 4 of the New York corners on with the borders, it wont fit in an envelope OR on a card base as it is too big, so i cut a piece of white card and stuck it on the back of my work of Norah and made it into a little wall plaque instead. Not quite the card i had intended but it would have been a shame to waste it as it looked so pretty. Ok everyone, i've owned up to my disaster, how about you? I was too tired to start over afterwards so the card is still not made. It was nice to wake up this morning with no baked alaska for hills like i have had for the last few days. Made me wonder how you can bake ice cream in an oven without it melting on you, answers please on a postcard to the Glenochil Yokel. See the random thoughts that go through this mind of mine on a daily basis and sometimes i just don't know what starts them off on the road.
I'll tell you Mrs B, it must be one of the few times that his mind has wandered in my direction in a long while as normal he can't understand how i can be so tired or sore.
Kirsten is getting stuck in today again with her MIL who has taken the day of her work to help. She came home to borrow one of her dad's hammers(I didn't ask)but i did warn her not to use it on her FIL as in her words doing her nut in. She is wondering who promoted him to chief gaffer of works. He had come in on his lunch break to be director of operations and hover over Kirsten and his wife Marie to the point the pair of them told to go back to his work out of their road before they got taken up for spousal battery charges. He is trying to tell my Kirsten how she doesn't need to do this and that as it just creates more work, only Kirsten was far too long in her granny, grampa and my company to take any notice and do things the lazy way as she knows that it would just need all redone again. See when you think they don't take a blind bit of notice of what you say, something always comes along to prove you wrong and gladden your wee heart.
Hope that your day has been a good one for you all and sending you all hugs
love and crafty hugs
Norah (Glenochil)

Hi Sue & friends,
Such a pretty feminine card, so versatile too, from a birthday card to a get well card.
Its great to see new ways to use the dies too. Can I please make a request Sue???? Could you please make a video tutorial of all the different ways to make up the different flower dies you have bought us, from the classic rose to the faux quilled and the camelia dies too, I think it would be great to get some inspiration, I have seen you use them all in different ways but it would be great to have them all I one place.
Janet, how did candle making go? I am not sure if I am alone here, I think it may be a sign of age, it relates to the Good Life comment from yesterday, I seem to have developed the habit of keeping plastic pots and jars, we get yoghurt in these little buckets and I cant seem to throw them away, I am turning to a hoarder! I fid myself saying I'll keep that just in case'!!!!
I hope that all of our lovely Blog family are warm and safe from, these gales are terrible again today!
Huge hugs to all,
Sandra xxxx

Not sure how you would bake ice cream either, but here in the south, we do fry ice cream. My California sister in law swears we'd fry anything in the south, and I guess she's right. People at our state fairs fry Twinkies, bubble gum, chocolate bars, etc. and enter them in contests, then they have booths where you can buy them. It's a coveted title if you're the winner.

Norah, yes I know what you mean about baked Alaska. Beth thought the Lomonds Hills looked cruel today.
And good for Kirsten sticking to her guns, she is so right do a job properly the first time. I will look out for the headlines on the scottish news of one FIL found with head injuries hahaha. Hazel x

Another stunning card, I am glad I watched the video as I thought this was going to be more difficult than it is.
Amazing effect you get from mixing the dies up I think I need to be more daring and try.

Hi Sue,
Really pretty card, love the lavender . Really good video too! Thank you.
Janet, pleased the candles came out quite well and at least you know what to do next time. Theresa, hope you got some joy about your appointment for ultrasound. Hopefully it won't be too long. Norah good to hear from you. Well it's been a lovely day here apart from the strong winds but it now seems as though they have changed direction and are now straight on the back of the house, so a disturbed night me thinks! Still better than the snow and ice we had yesterday, - ended up going sideways on one of the estate roads and nearly ended in someone's front garden! Fortunately managed to control the skid before that happened! Sending everyone love and hugs , Alison xxx
