You're So Sweet

Good morning all!  It is all about the Spanish Collection dies for this card. I cut the Spanish background out of coconut white card, leaving a wide background which I paper pierced with my piercing ruler.  I mounted it up on foam for dimension over another piece of white card.  Using the Seville die, I cut one in aqua card and folded the die in half and cut off a portion of it then placed the two halves back together to form a square shape.  I cut a Galicia die and did the same thing, creating a smaller square shape as well.  I layered the two dies up so that they were offset.  I stamped my sentiment and cut it our with the Spanish tag and inked it lightly with Aqua Adirondack ink before removing it from the die.  I mounted it in the centre of the die cuts and created several Faux Quilled blooms to use to hide the cut area of my dies.  I seated them with some pastel Bakers Twine.  Flatback pearls adorned the corners and flower centres.  I finished the card with another pierced layer in white, a thin aqua layer then a final white mat.  The finished dimensions are  7" x 8 3/4" in size.  All for now, Sue x

My brother will be here in approx 3 hours, so excited to see him. He had a 2 hour plane change in Dublin, so will be pretty tired, methinks.
Meg, my love to baby Leo and family, Julie Laz, so many positive posts for you, please take heart, you are so brave, don't let the chair defeat you. Steph, hope you ans MIL are well, poor Andy must be so worried about you both. Loving hugs to all Wilsonettes, Tandy, Tres, Tina, Wheelybad, Norah, Heather T, Yorkielass, NannaTina and anyone whose name I have forgotten to add, love you all.

Hi Sue
Wow a beautiful card, love the colours I have yet to get the dies used.
I would like to thank each and everyone of you for your comments on loosing our beloved Max it will seem so strange not having a dog in the house.
Julie I have used a wheel chair on and off since I was 26 due to various operations I ignored the bad comments and focused on the positives and learnt to love my 4 wheeled friend, I even got my Dad to use it he called it his pushchair and he was a very proud man but knew the only way he could be out and about with the family was to use the chair x
Pam you must be so excited enjoy your time with your brother.
Norah I come out in those colours not a flattering look, I think I must have been in the ring with Tyson in the night as I now have a swollen right eye.
Baby hugs for little Leo.
Steph I hope your MIL will be home soon big hugs to you all
Love and big hugs to all the Wilsonettes and thanks again for all your comments my blog friends they are a great help.
Love and hugs
Happy crafting

Morning Sue and all Wilsonettes
A really lovely card Sue, I love every one of you dies, they are so versatile and a great size too. This could be adapted to a Christmas card.
Enjoy precious time with your brother Pam. I spent the evening with my sister and nieces last night. I only have the one sister and we are very close.
Tina, we went four years without a dog after losing our two Labradors very close together. We swore we would not go through the pain of losing them again, but then Meesha came not our lives unexpectedly a year ago as a rescue dog. So we now share our home with an eight stone gentle giant who we love with all of our heart.
I hope everyone has a good day, I have a wedding card to make, so housework will get left again, still the dust will be here after I am gone and I enjoy crafting much more than housework.
Love and hugs

morning Sue

WE HAVE SUNSHINE THIS MORNING!

Today's gift is just the one to finish the working week for those who still have to adhere to that dreadful word.

I just love the softness of the blue and the simplicity of your format today. I tried cutting a die down into a square the other day and wasn't all that impressed with my effort and so will be trying once more and no doubt once more again. You know if at first you don't succeed....

Pam - I can feel your excitement here in Burgundy so deep breaths please.

Nanna Tina - Just remember all the wonderful days you had and all the love you received. I know it's very difficult but both of you gave your all to each other.

Julie Laz - As I said in my post the other day re chairs with wheels (as my two girls used to say when they were little and were going to Nans. They never knew Nan on her feet)a chair gives you freedom and enables you to enjoy whatever you wish to do and wherever you want to go. My youngest daughter is a PA to a lady who has some slight mental difficulties as well as physical and she always says to cashouts etc - 'It's not mine' and so they have to attend to Margaret. She also tells people to ask Margaret if they ask her any questions as again she says she doesn't know. They soon get the message.

Norah - hope you're feeling better. The colours never match anything you have to wear do they?

Sandra - hope you're feeling better and you're getting some benefit from the meds. When do you depart for Spain? It's the mad mad weekend here in France as they all start the annual hols. So it's keep off the roads weekend.

Hope all are ready and -feeling a little better = for the Weekend and any festivities/plans you have. Please take care and see you tomorrow.

Hi Sue. Morning all. Firstly, I want to apologise to Nana Tina. I couldnt carry on after reading your post yesterday as Im still feeling our loss terribly and although its been a year, he was my life and world for 15 yrs. So reading your post shattered me. But it wasnt about me and Im really sorry I put your feelings aside (it was your way of coping)
On the other hand I was so thrilled to read of such improvement with Robbie dear Pam. Enjoy your time and personal catch up with your brother (when he feels human again) what an emotional day for you - maybe he can leave a wonderful momento on your bright pink 'beast' lol
It really is a sad time here at the moment so how happy am.I to see such beautiful soothing colour's on this stunning card today. I do love the aqua card, I really must order a pack, and soon while I have the funds !
With the small amount of dies I have from the 1st collection, I have looked at them in different ways thanks to your tutorials Sue. By cutting them down and re sticking you help us make more out of our dies, with newer mats to use. Im so looking forward to learning new tips and idea's from your new video tutorials.
I hope you are well and happy Sue.

Norah - as for phone calls to wards etc I worked on a ward for most of my working life until health stood in my way, plus been on the other side numerous times, so I know all about the 'why's and wherefores' regarding patient confidentiality. Its a personal thing only, but its not always a good thing to be able to take calls as a patient especially if you feel quite poorly, or maybe sleeping, and worst of all, should the consultant be with you (not everyone thinks or has the manners to turn off their phone) when the dr's enter your room or space, especially when they are 90 yrs of age !!
Anyway, she is fine, nothing to worry about or panic over, its a mixture of age and not thinking about drinking more in all the hot weather we've just had !!!
Well, I better send my love to my lovely friends that are down or unwell. Tomorrow is another day.
Love you.
Lancashire Steph xxx

Buenos Dias Sue & dear friends,
Targets de hoy es bastante, (today's card is pretty)!
You are right it is all about the Spanish, lovely country, lovely dies, amazing results, love it! X
Well thankfully the antiotics have done their job and the infection is disappearing! Which is a good job as i have lots to do before we leave!
Janet we leave next Thursday so hope lily most of the local folk will have arrived at their chosen destinations!
The place we stay in Spain is very quiet, a lovely campsite right ion the beach, with a pool and a freshwater lake (nature reserve) to sail on! We are a bit boring as it offers us everything we need we have been returning every year, since before the twins and they are 14 !
Pam, I bet you are so excited to see your lovely brother, hope you both have fun!
Nana Tina, I promise it will get easier, at first you miss everything from coming home to no welcome wagging tail to feeding time, but as they say he has crossed the Rainbow Bridge to happiness, where he will feel no pain, big hugs xxx
Norah or should that be 'floora' how are your bruises, aches and pains? Try and do a little less and stay upright! Big hugs to you xx
Sue (mrs B) thanks for your lovely thoughts, I am missing you already, if I know you, you will be busy doing things for others, hugs xxx
Pat (Witney) thanks to you too for your lovely words, how many weeks to next coffee morning?
Myra, than you so much for your message, I do hope your back is on the mend, so that you are ready and able to fill your lovely new things, how many out of date things did you find? Or am I the only one that has them!?
Margaret (Corgi owner) thanks to you too for the lovely message, I have been an avid drinker of cranberry juice for sometime now, as part of the huge messed up hip operation left me with hardly any sensation of needing to 'go', therefore bacteria build up and the infection kicks in! Your message gave me a 'virtual hug' thank you, so sending right back to you xxx
While I have been convalescing, I have been reading about the exploits of Mr Grey (as in 50 shades) so it wasn't just the infection wasn't the only thing to make me 'flush with colour) haha it is hilarious! I do love the story line though! I have been looking for some light reading for holiday , any suggestions ?
Julie, have you been out in it yet? Please try, nobody takes any notice now, apart from when we use the Blue Badge, people assume that as I look ok and I am not that old that I am parking in a disabled bay because I am lazy, I soon wave my badge under ther noses! Stop caring about what other people think, do it for you! Then it's mobility scooter, the biggest bonus for me was that my husband could walk beside me once again (rather than behind)!
Sending big hugs to you all
Sandra xxxxx

Good morning Sue and fellow Wilsonettes,
What a beautiful card you have made for our delight today Sue, in such a pretty aqua and white. I love how the detail of your dies is so deep and precise when it is embossed, and your dies emboss better than any other that i have in my collection.
Well having read all the fantastic inspirational comments from all my brilliant friends i just want to say you are amazing. Yes we can't do the same as all our "normal" friends, but we still want to live life to the fullest like anyone else. Julie please, we have all felt like and been where you are, but don't let small people dictate how you should live or feel. Give Lee the joy of taking his beautiful wife out for a walk or a meal or whatever you want to do. You are his world, his life, please enjoy that together as you are bigger than the few narrow minded people out there.
Pam, i bet you are still as excited as a child at your brother being here. Have a great time with him but be careful of the pot as you are on the home run now. Come on young Robbie, what are you going to surprise us and your Dad with next for when he comes home.
Meg, sending love to little Prince Leo and his family.
Steph, thinking of you, Mr L & Mrs L snr, i hope she is making good progress so that Mr L can breathe easier again as it is a worry when mum is getting to such a great age. I hope that you are feeling a bit better from Sundays stint as well.
Sandra, they do the same to me, look at the face and do the tutting that is until i try and get out of the car with the sticks and the body not working in tandem. Then it's do you need a hand, well no because i get there with causing the least damage. Really could do with a higher up seat in the car but i get there. Glad that the tablets are kicking in and you are feeling better in time to go to Spain, can i come in your suitcase, pleaseee? I'll be awful good, promise x
Nanna Tina, it feels like the No.7 bus has came along and hit me when i wasn't looking. But, now you going i 10 rounds with Mike Tyson during the night, you're always going to come off the worst. Is the eye a keeker?(sorry don't know the English word for it). Sending you hugs my flower and just sorry i can't make them real, but we're here for you.
whey hey you are spoiled this morning Janet, sunshine in France? Wow, i hope it lasts a good while for you. Although i firmly believe like my Nana that it's since they started putting up all those rockets and space capsules up that it has knocked the weather into disarray. Before they started going landing on the moon and all their high jinks you knew what kind of weather you were getting at what time of the year. Being a 66 baby, i think i was one of the last born that had the summers so hot that it melted the pavement. Fruit and veg had a time span until it was the next lots turn to come into flourish. Now we have the fruit and veg at what ever time of the year we want, but it doesn't taste the same as it used too. And Janet, are there any pastries called Strawberry Martans?(i probably watch too much Rosemary and Thyme).
Well we have a good day here at the hills so i will leave you all with hugs to everyone of the special people here,
Love and crafty hugs
Norah (Glenochil)

Hi Sue,
It's hard to find different words for gorgeous each day!
I love today's card it is so very very pretty. I love the colours you've used , the dies and how you've used them and the whole lovely picture. It is beautiful. There, done my best! sending hugs. Pre- ordered Angel!
Pam - hopefully by now your brother is with you. Have a really lovely time together. Thinking of Robbie too.
Anne - hope you have a lovely time with your family too especially your grandchildren . Hope the weather is good.
June - thank you , my back is a lot better but still stiff in the morning until I get moving - feel a bit of a fraud here as my trouble was self-inflicted! So many people on the blog have real pain and suffering daily.
Sandra - do I have to admit on this blog to finding out of date items in my kitchen cupboards? How unkind , Lol. Yes - I did! Not finished yet either. Small jar of glacé cherries - 2010 , unopened ! That was the worst.
Julie L - I do hope we haven't overwhelmed you - you take care. Sending hugs!
Steph - pleased about your Mum in Law - having family unwell at a distance never easy . Take care of yourself too.
Sending crafty hugs to all today, particularly those in pain .
Janet I know you wanted sunshine - but did you have to send your French rain here ? Enjoy the sunshine . x
Love Myra

Hi Sue, A lovely intricate card. Whenever i have a go at cutting my die shapes up, I usually end up with a mountain of bits and pieces which i don't think even you could make something beautiful out of them . However practise makes perfect or so they say. Those little faux flowers are so sweet. Thank you for a beautiful card Sue. Hugs Pauline A xx

Hi Sue. Ooooh, today's card is just gorgeous !! Absolutely stunning !! I really love it !! The colours you have used are fab to. I tried one of your cards from your older series of videos called Spanish Rose and cut the Cordoba die down to make a square and I loved how it turned out. I think I have most of the dies to make this one so I will certainly be giving it a go. Thank you Sue it is so lacy and delicate looking. Very pretty. Wishing you a lovely day today love and hugs from Tres x x x

Julie Laz, I have had many experiences with wheelchairs, both within my job and now because of the illness I have. Please just go for it. It will give you so much more freedom. It is so much better than not leaving the house at all. Maybe your wonderful hubby might consider taking you out for lunch or dinner !! (Sorry Lee !! ) Take care love Tres x x x

Helloooo Sue and the Wilsonettes! What a beautiful aqua and white card Sue. I love these pastel colours, they look so gentle and soft. Just gorgeous Sue and I will try to do the "square" by snipping as I have these wonderful dies too! Oooo and the dies that I ordered off Joanna of yours are just beautiful. I'm loving the Calabria. I'm doing a few in mirror board, gold and silver, (they are gorgeous!) for a lovely lady that I know who is always making flowers for me with new dies that she has just bought. "Thank you Sue" for all the inspiration that you give us to think outside of the box. Hope you and your family are okay too. Sending love and hugs to you all. Also sending them to Lynne, Lynda, Yorkielass, Lyndsey, Julie, Norah, Pam, Myra, (it doesn't matter if it is self inflicted duck you can still have a hug!) and everyone who needs a hug today. I have so many I've lost count....lol! Julie, thinking of you and your thoughts of the chair. Please give it a try, even if it's late and dark outside to start you off. We go through a lot of "pride" things and it's so hard when you feel like you're not capable of doing things and have to rely on others, especially Lee. Then there's the actions of others at the back of your mind. I was ignored wherever my husband and I had to go when I was going through chemotherapy. I had my bandana on but whoever was serving completely blanked me and just spoke to my husband, even when I had the documents that we needed in my bag! It hurt, but you get over things in time. It's probably embarrassing for them but it's the same old thing to do, put yourself in someone elses shoes! I've done this all my life anyway and I go out of my way even more now to talk to all those wonderful, brave ladies who are going through the same. Don't let anything stop you from going out to do the things that you love to do or go to places that you want to go. Life is so too short. Take your time, step by step if need be but you WILL get there. If Lee was in your position, what would you want to do? xx The word is LOVE xx Thinking of you xx Take care Sue and everyone xx Love Karen xx

Hi Sue

Wowsers! There's so much cutting, chopping and changing of the dies in that card I lost track of what you'd done! But it looks absolutely stunning! The most I've ever done is cut a die in half to lengthen or extend it! Looks like I have plenty to try when I get the chance.

Quick one today you will all be pleased to hear. I'm having a lay down after we went out for an hour to collect the aftershave I ordered for Mr WheelyBad
Pam, enjoy the time with your brother, hug for Robbie, and I'm pleased that your Mum in law is ok Steph. Baby size hug for little Leo.

Hi Sue,
Hi everyone! What a blog - you are all super!
Magpie(Karen) thanks for allowing me to enjoy my hugs!
This is an amazing blog ! Now ladies - just to make you at the very least - smile! - my husband , who is wonderful was recently on a "speed awareness course" - ahem! He decided he would then go on an hours trial to see how his driving was! Sorry bad grammar! I could have given an opinion which may not necessarily have been helpful! Well today was the day! I was very relieved to see him return, the lady's car was left in our driveway. I'm safe he said!! Well, I said, she has only been out with you once and you were on your very best behaviour! Kidding! I love him really! I don't think I could have done that - you have to be over 65! Whew just made the cut . Good night all,
Love Myra
Ps. Wheelybad - I'm with you ! X

I have a question waht die sets would you recommend as a starter set?

This die would be excellent for more masculine cards as well. Which for some reason always seem more difficult to come up with ideas for.

Love the background!
