You Are So Sweet

Good Sunday morning all!  I thought this lovely sunflower was the perfect thing for a lazy sort of day (Sundays always seem a bit lazy to me).  For today's card, I started by embossing the background using the Large Polka dot mask on coconut white card.  It is a 6 x 6 size, but I left the area below the mask open for my sentiment later.  I matted the piece with some tan card and began work on my focal element.  I used the Filigree Delights die set and cut it out of white card.  I added small pieces of foam mounting tape to the back of it for dimension.  Next I stamped my sunflower from Justrite's Sunflower Vintage Labels Five set on another piece of white card.  I coloured it with Distress markers and used a blue pencil to scribble some colour behind it. I stamped the head of the flower a second time, colour and cut out just that part and mounted it on foam on top of the flower, but I offset the flower just slightly so it looks like there are more petals on it. I added some white gel pen highlights and some Diamond Sprinkles for some bling.   I mounted the Filigree Delight die cut over the flower, but slipped the edge of it under my second flower head so it is just peeking over it.  I added a matching thin tan mat and mounted it in the centre of my embossed background.  I stamped the sentiment from the Bold sentiment set by Creative Expressions and cut it into a banner. I used the fine tip on the Distress marker to add some yellow highlights to the wording.  I matted it with a matching tan mat and added it below the flower.  I tied a messy bow out of white seam binding, adding in a yellow Bakers Twine bow before topping it with a tan Dazzler.  To finish the card, I added my usual pierced white double mat and some white 5mm flatback pearls to my focal element.  Finished dimensions are 7" x 8 1/2" in size.

Sunday Smiles to you Sue and all Wilsonettes. Congrats to all 10 lucky ladies today, enjoy your gift : )
Welcome home Pam. Thinking of you. Tina - hope you managed to find the enthusisam to get your MOTB outfit yesterday : )
Kitty - its always nice to see you comment, just remember, although we cant see each other, we are all a big group of friends with Sue as our Bedt Friend, as without Sue, we wouldnt have each other.
Well its cold and grey in Lancashire (maybe thats where the saying comes from "Its grim up North) Im sure they didnt mean the well known fairy tail writer !
So, how chuffed am I ? REALLY chuffed, why ? I went to my local little craft store yesterday, and there before me was a wall (which use to hold lots of ribbon.plus other 'stuff'.I have no idea how to use most of it, but it was gone : ) and was replaced with..... SUE WILSON dies, and stamps that match, now Im not sure who this designer is but there was loads and loads of wonderful, mouth watering goodies and there was more to come can you believe : 0 I then told Lyn my craft shop owner that I loved her but left it there, didnt want to go OTT with my emotions ! Of course I HAD to mention this find to Mr Lancashire ready for Easter (boy he better NOT buy me an egg, not with all those dies waiting for a home) !!! : )
You may remember a convo with her Sue, apparantly she went on n on about Christening items !!! ?
I must say - WHEN do you have a 'lazy day' Sue ?! I dont believe you ever have chance ! Your beautiful sunflower brings the sun into our lounge this morning, it really is full of Sunday Smiles, thank you.
No lazy day for me although my body wishes it could curl up and stop hurting already I just HAVE to put my mask on and push through, hohum.
Hope you all have a good day (if you can)
Hugs to all.

Good afternoon Sue and my fellow Wilsonettes,
I love the happy face that the sunflowers always put on. Their colour brightens up the dullest of days and reminds us of the loveliness of the sun shining brightly down on us. I think Janet(Ecco)we will dedicate today's beautiful card to cheer up your youngest daughter. I hope she gets on the road to mend soon.
Ohhhh thank you girls for indulging me in where you all are, as i can now visualise the different parts of our little island and beyond. I used to love traveling around in the holidays as we seen so many different wonders. I loved going to like the model village and down to Devon and Cornwall where there was this place that had these funny statues of like the tax man on your back and many others that knocked a rise out of the government at the time. Pebbles was always our first stop where we parked up at the burn behind the church who had the loveliest ringing bells on the Sunday morning. I got my drindle skirt there for my 2nd year disco(for all of you youngsters of later years i don't know what it would be called now)but it was dancing and i loved it. Normally first up on the floor and picking the grumpiest looking partner to get things started. First up and last off, happy days where i couldn't dance to say myself but i loved every minute of it. Hee!hee!hee! great fun.
Back to present day and congratulations to all of this weeks winners, enjoy your prizes when they arrive.
Kitty, i just type what i say out loud flower and it's lovely to hear what is happening in everyone else's lives. We speak to each other through the wonders of the internet just as if i could see you face to face and like you do with your normal friends that you meet and chat over coffee(Tea). So you just type whatever you want to tell us as if we were in the same room. This is my special time with my friends that gets me out into the land of the living that i can't do any other way. I know that for a number of us, this is our life line and sanctuary that we are welcome in and not left feeling that nobody cares, because in here i think all the prize winners of caring and sharing are in this blog, which i for one is so very grateful for.
Hope the weather continues good for you all where ever you are and it decides to improve in Central Scotland.
Love and crafty hugs
Norah (Glenochil)

Hi Sue,
Hi Everyone,
Oh Norah, great post as always - but did you get the outfit! We're all waiting with baited breath!

Still excited about yesterday and sending my congratulations to today's winners! Enjoy!

So pleased some of you have lovely sunshine - It's dull, grey and inclined to drizzle here in my corner of Lancashire! Steph too has a dull day and noticed dull in Chester too! However pleased that the sunshine is in the South which got such a drenching over Christmas/ New Year. Hopefully things will dry up more quickly for those who were flooded and still are!

Steph I'd love to know where your little craft shop is! It's so nice to support the smaller local shops.

Have a lovely day everyone , be it sunny or dull ! Never dull on this Blog!
Love to all, Myra

Hi Sue, back to dull and grey today in the Yorkshire Dales but the sunflower is very cheering.
Had a great day out in Carlisle yesterday via Settle-Carlisle Railway. Had scrummy fish and chips and then found super craft shop - was sorely tempted and ended up buying a set of dies.

Lucky winners - it's great to see your name there isn't it? I was drawn recently and it was fantastic.

Just had a quick read through the comments - so KITTY DAVIES, just say it as it is, it's all you can do. We get to know from a little to a lot about other followers' lives, and some who have real crosses to bear seem to develop a fabulous sense of humour that keeps us all amused. And in dark times you will have seen that there is great support from Sue and her loving-hearted band of crafters. It's a sort of family but with no falling out!! Long may it live.

Hellooo Sue and the Wilsonnettes! Whoo hoo, Sue, what a gorgeous sunny card to start alongside the lovely sunny weather we've had this weekend. Such a tonic! I love the layered sunflower and how you've coloured it in. Thank you for the reminder of highlighting with a white gel pen.....! Another beauty Sue! Hope you have managed to get a "lazy" day. You thoroughly deserve it although I imagine that there will still be inspirational things popping into your already crafty head! Lol! Lovely to see you again Pam, sending love and hugs to you x Janet, I hope your daughter is ok too x Tina, hope you got the perfect MOTB outfit. A beautiful day to look forward too x Kitty, bless you duck. I'm the same too with computers but you keep doing what you're doing and you can't go wrong.....hopefully! Lol! Nice to see you on the best blog ever!x Theresa, never say never and never give up! x Steph, I hope the pain has eased for you. I also hope Mr Lancashire does think twice about buying you an Easter egg......Sue's dies and stamps and things are the first priority.....take heed Mr Lancashire! There is a craft shop I go to about 6 miles away on the bus and, yes...they have your stamps and a few dies in there Sue. Just got to save some pennies (again).....Karen Lotty, thinking of you and to all of you that need a hug too. Norah, I used to love going to Devon and Cornwall. They're beautiful places. I've also been to the Isle of Man and the Isle of Wight. Had the first Hovercraft ride over there....many a moons ago....lol! I also love hearing the church bells. Even nicer when you know that that are being rung by bell people (can't remember the name!) and not by tape, but then that's better than nothing. Anyway, Take care everyone. Congratulations to the lucky winners! Wonderful! You'll love your prize! xx Love Karen xx

Hi Sue

Another beautiful card today, it mimmick's the beautiful sunny day outside, love the sun flower, even though it's now numb round the bum outside, ( how common of me, sorry! ) but it's turned really cold in Wiltshire. Sorry it's not been so nice for you all further up country.

Thank you my blog friends, I did get my outfit, just got shoes to get. The first thing I bought was my hat, earrings and necklace. I was really pleased and felt like going home then, but my daughter insisted I kept shopping for an outfit or she said she would have some really dodgy wedding photo's. Any ideas where I can get some beautiful shoes? I don't know if I am in a minority, but I hate shopping especially for clothes. I went out looking quite presentable and came back looking like worzel Gummidge, the lady kept bringing me outfits that had to be pulled over my head, I could hear my daughter laughing at my groans of " I've had enough get me out of here " I was cream crackered. Then she wanted to go for a late lunch, I looked a wreck but lunch was good.

Big hugs to you Pam, Steph I hope you don't hurt quite so much now, and hope you managed to get some more invites done. Big hugs all round to all my caring blog friends. Margaret thank you for my picture of the lake, I really can't wait to go back up to stay at Low Manesty. I look forward to towing the caravan and the crafting, while Paul goes climbing, then we walk around the lake in the evenings. Can't wait.

Congratulations to all the lucky winners.

Kind regards :-)
