Wednesday Weekly Card Giveaway

Hello my crafty friends!  Today's card giveaway is from the gorgeous Hydrangea set by Justrite and I think it is a lovely set to make cards with as well.  I started by stamping the Justrite Tufted Background on to periwinkle card using a clear Perfect Medium pad.  I heat embossed it with gold embossing powder for a regal look.  I used the matching Vintage Labels Seven die to cut an aperture in the centre of the card. On a separate piece of white card, I stamped my sentiment and embossed it in gold.  I lightly inked around the sentiment with Weathered Wood Distress Ink to create a shadow.   I added some mounting foam to the background aperture and popped it over the stamped sentiment so it showed in the upper corner of my aperture.  I trimmed the excess away, leaving a very thin white mat.  Next I stamped the Hydrangea on white card with a clear Perfect Medium pad.  I heat embossed it in gold as well.  Using Distress markers, I coloured the flower and leaves, dabbing them with blues and purples for a more realistic looking flower and then cut it out by hand (I left in the small bits within the leaves).  I mounted it on foam so it was coming up out of my aperture.  Using a blue marker, I lined the tufted background lines to create the look of shadowing, then added small white flatback pearls to each of the cross sections.  I finished the card with a pierced gold layer, then added in some white and blue before finishing with a final soft gold layer.  Finished dimensions are 6 1/4" x 7 1/4" (a real baby size for me! LOL)
If you want to be in the drawing to win this one, just leave a comment on the post today!  I will announce the winner on Saturday's post.  All for now, Sue x

another pretty card. I liked the shadow in blue, something I would not have thought of doing, but will try this method. Just a gentle request could you make a video of some of the cards you made with your own dies? I have one of the american dies and the lace flowers. These dies cut out so well. Kind regards sandra kent

Absolutely stunning today. The gold accents the gorgeous periwinkle card beautifully. But it's always the little details that you add that get me. With this one its the blue marker on the background that sets it apart. Fantastic!!! Vicki x

Dear Sue,

What a stunningly beautiful card this is!

It's absolutely amazing and gorgeous. I adore this card.

The very pretty hydrangea stamped image in blues and purple compliments the periwinkle card wonderfully.
The pearls and gold embossing gives an opulance to this card and enhances the beauty of this card.

How you keep coming up with such beautiful cards I really don't know except you are marvellous at it.

Best wishes from Katie-Louise sweetlove

Hi Sue,
Loving the hydrangea stamp, the periwinkle blue is such a soft colour that goes extremely well with the gold. I have just bought a new hydrangea plant for my garden, I just hope it comes out as beautiful as your one.

Rich, regal-looking card. Such a lovely sentiment.

I like your smaller sized cards as I only have an A4 printer and have to down-size your cards to give a finished size of A5 to go with the inserts I print.

I love the card. Thanks for the opportunity.

Wow! Wow! Wow! This is one of the most stunning cards I've seen you do Sue. I have to say I fell in love with the Hydrangea stamp the first time you used it but this card has just confirmed that I MUST have it! I love the shades of blue used with the gold. Anyone receiving this card would think it had cost a fortune as it looks so opulent. Beautiful work! Thanks for sharing Sue.
