Wednesday Weekly Card Giveaway/ It's A Two- Fer

Hello all!  I have a double card giveaway today.  Since I am no longer doing any of the Heartfelt Creations shows, I thought I would offer up a couple of the cards for the giveaway this week (and maybe next week too!)  We have one white and one black card, just for a bit of variety!  For the background of the first card, I stamped the Majestic Morning flowers all over using a Clear Perfect Medium.  I heat embossed them with white detail embossing powder for a tone on tone look.  In the centre of the card, I cut a Stately Circle die, giving me an aperture to use.  I added mounting foam to the back to raise it for dimension.  I added it to a thin periwinkle blue mat.  The Stately Circle cut earlier was recessed back down into the aperture, showing the blue card through the cut outs.  I stamped a sentiment from the Creative Expressions stamp set called Nature's Sentiments and cut it out with a smaller die from that set and added it in the centre.  I stamped the Majestic Morning flowers in black onto periwinkle card and cut them out with the matching die.  I added black glitter to the edges of each of the petals after assembling each of the flowers.  I tied a messy bow out of black seam binding, added some white tulle and pearl strings and seated the largest flower on it.  I added a few more flowers on the opposite side of the sentiment.  I made a stick pin using beads from my craft stash and added it to my bow.  I finished this card with a double white pierced mat layer.  Finished dimensions are
7 1/4" x 8 1/4" in size.  Scroll down to see the second card on offer.

Card no. two for today's giveaway.  This one was a demo during my last Heartfelt Creations shows in January.  I started with a piece of black card and stamped the background using a Clear Perfect Medium pad.  I heat embossed it with gold.  Using mica powders, I made a paint by adding some water and coloured all the flowers with it.  Mica powders really pop against black card, giving a cloisonne look to them.    I used a small circle die to cut the opening in the background area.  I masked some of the vines on the stamp and stamped the sentiment and cut it into a strip.  I tucked the end into the opening and gave it a bit of dimension.  I made a scrunched flower using the Majestic blooms cut out of lavender card.  I added the flower with a black jute bow to the corner of the sentiment strip.  I matted the background with a thin lavender mat, then added a black mat edged in Midnight Snow before finishing with a double gold pierced mat layer.  Finished dimensions are 6 1/4" x 7 1/2" in size.

If you would like a chance to win either of these cards, please leave a comment on today's blog post.  The winners will be drawn and announced on Saturday's blog post.

A couple of quick announcement to make too today.  Firstly, Julia Watt's showtimes have been changed for today.  They are now 10am and 1pm today so don't forget  to tune in and set your recorders!

The other thing that I wanted to say was a great big thank you for everyone that took the time to go vote for Nick!  Although the outcome wasn't what we had hoped for as C & C cancelled the competition before it ended.  While Nick does maintain an address in the UK and C & C emailed him to say that that was fine, there were others that complained, so they decided to just cancel it.  So many of you have emailed me about sending donations directly to Nick to help with his club and that is fabulous, but it is very expensive to ship to Bulgaria.  I know this first hand as I sent him a parcel last month.  He would be grateful for any donations and has said that I can even give out his address, you just need to email me.  Someone else suggested doing a donation in the form of vouchers for Joanna Sheen's website as she ships internationally for free.  I think that would be a better way to go and probably less expensive in the long run if you would like to help out.  Nick would even be able to pick out the consumable items that he needs the most for his craft club too that way.  He was so overwhelmed at the response from everyone and is just humbled and pleased that so many people want to help.  I told him that my blog family is like that!  (I am such a proud Mom!)  All for now,
Sue x

Love both cards but my favourite has to be the periwinkle blue one. That said I'd be happy with either ( that should read ... more than happy to have an original card from Sue Wilson, in fact ecstatic).

Hi Sue

Two really beautiful cards today, I like them equally for the different techniques used, and as all your blog family I would love to own a Wilson masterpiece.

I ditto every negative thing said about C&C. I rejoined the C&C club back in January again. I had to get in touch with them regarding the paperwork and badge to show I was a member, only to be told I could'nt have another badge as I had had a badge when I 1st joined. 2yrs earlier. I don't need another piggin badge, but I thought that was part of the £20 joining fee. I think they have behaved appallingly towards Nick, but I think everything happens for a reason, and Nick will be happier with help from friends as opposed to a money grabbing company. I too will now get off of my soap box.

Steph if I lived near you I would be there for you in a shot, but I think you are like me. I had offers of help, but it was my my baby I took it on and had to see it through, does'nt pride knacker you sometimes. So sorry you hurt so much.

Big Big hugs to all my blog friends that still send me kind thoughts, big hugs Pam X. What a fantastic blog to belong to, Thank you SUE.

Kind regards

Tina X

2 Wonderful Cards! I couldn't afford to buy all the H C. Goodies that I would have liked but I did buy the Morning Collage ? Stamp and settled for cutting out the flowers , which is ok. Happy to help with a Nick donation when I know what to do . Hugs to all xo

oh yes please mom, i would love either of them. i have just today posted a card to mil with the happy birthday stamp on white though. i coloured it with the cosmic shimmer watercolour paints that look like mica powders anyway. that is spooky. it is a pity that you are not doing heartfelt anymore as they are very different dies and stamps.
anyway fab cards today. love your idea of glitter around flowers. to me it immediately said if the die cut isn't perfect you can camouflage it. cool! xx

Hi Sue
Two absolutely fabulous cards today they are so elegant and luxuriously beautiful. So pleased we don't have to choose. It would be worse than being on a diet and being asked to choose between ice cream with chocolate flakes and chocolate cheesecake! lol. Sorry Cameeli, so pleased you are improving, take care.
I do so agree with all the comments on C & C such a pity there is not another craft channel. Is it not possible and easier for Joanna Sheen if we just sent her donations for Nick with a closing date then he could choose just what he wants, when he wants it? I feel quite sure the lovely Richard with his computer expertise, could sort something out.
Take care those that are hurting including injured husbands.
Special hugs for Pam, Tina, Norah and Steph, just wish I lived a little closer then I could help you.
Sending warm wishes and hugs to those who need them.

Hi Sue
Two stunning cards today. I cannot choose between them! I've just bought some black ribbon and pearls as I've admired the way that black can lift a card. Off to experiment!
I feel so cross about the competition cancellation - JS vouchers would be great. Can we co-ordinate?
Best wishes

Both cards are beautiful we are so lucky that you share all your inspiration with us. Sorry to hear C&C cancelled the comp but it's what we have come to expect from them they don't care about their customers. I will be in touch re vouchers after we have said goodbye to my cousin. Love and hugs to everyone.

I also really love the second card with that wonderful gold embossing and mica powders background. Just fab !! I love your gorgeous blue flower to. This card looks so elegant and sophisticated. Another really beautiful card to Sue.
I would love to win either card.
Thank You Sue for every thing you do for us.
I saw Julia's first show and she did a great job. I have recorded the second one to watch another time.
So sorry to hear about Nick. At least donations of Joanna Sheen vouchers could get him the craft stuff he really needs for his craft club.

Sending love and hugs to all who need them today.
Lots of love to you Sue and all the Wilsonettes x x x

Second try at this as I've managed to lose my comment.

Just had a chance to read through today's comments and think the idea of some sort of pot for Joanna Sheen vouchers is a great idea. Perhaps Joanna could add an item to her voucher page - a "buy a voucher for Nick". We could buy a voucher in the usual way but instead of sending our voucher in the post the site could send us the unique reference code for the voucher by email. We could then email the code to Nick for him to use as and when. I've just looked at the site and vouchers are valid for one calendar year. Don't know if this is feasible.

I think the loser from the whole competition fiasco will be C&C. I like watching some shows (such as Sue's) but have been becoming disenchanted with their Customer Service for quite a while. I always seem to get the parcel that has something missing from an item and the only way to resolve the situation is to send the item back for them to replace it, if it is still in stock. At least I haven't had a prize that didn't show up (I've never won anything from them). Rant over.
