Sneak Peek For Sam's Shows

Hi bloggers!  I thought I would show you a couple of cards that I made for Sam Poole's shows today.  When Sam was down over Christmas, she brought the stamps with her so I had a bit of a play with them and made five or six cards for her show.  These two are my favourites so I thought I would share them with you.  The first one showcases the doodle flowers and mason jar stamps on the shows.  I used the Interlocking Circle embossing folder to add some detail to the background.  Next I stamped the mason jar on white card and cut it out.  I added Iced snow to the bottom half of the jar so it looked like there was some water in the jar.  I drew in the stems with a green pencil.  I stamped the flowers on pastel coloured card with a clear Perfect Medium and embossed them with white powder.  I cut them out by hand and added a wire for a stem.  I did the same for a few leaves.  The wired flowers allowed me to give a 3D look to the framed flowers.  I stamped the sentiment and cut it into a tag shape and added it with some Bakers Twine.  To frame the flowers I used the Grand Rectangle dies.  I used an in between shape to add some detail to the frame.  I mounted it up on foam pieces for dimension.  The card was easily finished with a double white pierced mat layer and some flatback pearls for the flower centres.  Finished dimensions are 7" x 8" in size.  Scroll down for card no. 2.

Card number two uses Sam's Curly tree stamp.  I stamped it on coconut white card using a clear Perfect medium pad.  It was heat embossed in white powder and then sponged with Aqua Adirondack ink.  I used the Heart Circle die cut in red for the fall away hearts I have used.  I glued them all over the tree then used one with some black inked stitch lines to have it look like it was hanging.  I used the Grand Postage frame die to add a decorative feature to the inside of the frame.  The Grand Squares were used to create the frame for the tree.  I stamped the sentiment in black on a larger piece of card and mounted the framed tree above it.  I added some scattered pearls as accents and a double white pierced mat to finish the card.  How cute would this be for Valentine's Day!  The finished dimensions are 7" x 8" in size.
Sam's shows are on today at 11 am and 4 pm, do be sure to tune in to see them as she always has wonderful ideas, techniques and samples to show!

It is also time to announce the winner of the Wednesday Card Giveaway.  This week's winner is :

What a treat today two gifts and both adorable.
I love the flowers in the jam jar as they remind me of when I was a child and brought home wild flowers for Mum who would then put them in a jam jar and on the table - pride of place-.
As you say the apple tree makes a beautiful valentine card.
Thank you for bringing back happy memories.

Morning Sue, hope you have a lovely day planned for today : ) You have made one Wilsonette extremely happy today, CONGRATS Margaret, even the corgies are jumping for joy, imagin all those paw's high fiving, what a happy Saturday. BUT we too have been made happy by these two fab and oh so different cards from you Sue. I have the D-lite tree, so the idea with the hearts has come just at the right time as I HAVE to make a start on the Valentine cards (do you have anymore samples please Sue) ?
Both cards are so sweet and fresh looking, I must get that Aqua Ariondak ink, such a delicate colour - a 'me' colour (Im MORE girlie now than I was when I should have been girlie) !! Too busy training for my ice skating career ! Those flowers in card 1 are such darling little things, its such an amazing focal point (could also be used with red roses) for a Valentines, now the lightbulbs are pinging, lets hope the carry on pinging until I jot these ideas down, how my brain fails me now ! Oh and I beat the heck outta those pesky guilding flakes yesterday, the nack is, to go bounding into your craft space with confidence, chest out and up tall (if you can) !! And say loudly "right Im gonna getcha now, and you WILL co-operate, Im takin NO messin" see those flakes quiver in fear, oh boy did they quiver, just wish I had iced snow to see how the true fire and ice looks while I was winning, but the fine glitter dust looked pretty over the silver flakes and the singles swirly heart, its not saying I will have the same luck again so soon, so I'll leave it there while Im winning ! : )
Got todays shows ready to record incase I get held hostage in my little craft room.
So I hope all my Wilsonette friends have a lovely day and enjoy the shows today, and I will see you all tomorrow.
(hope the Wilsonettes looking for the Cascading Hearts folder have been sucessful in treating themselves)
Love to all.

Hi Sue. I love both of these! The doodle flowers and jam(mason)jar card is simply beautiful, makes me think childhood or camping when we always had/have a jam jar filled with flowers that the children picked. The tree is a great stamp, love the hearts on it. All really handy stamps that can be used in many ways. Will be watching Sam's shows. Take care.

Good Morning Sue and all the Wilsonettes!

I know I bet you are standing back Sue in a state of shock I have finally made it back on your blog! Phew! So much has happened since I last posted.

Hope all those that were flooded out at Christmas are recovering I can't imagine how that must have felt, though while I was away in the US over Christmas my home too came close as my village was very badly flooded.

So sorry to here of people suffering with their health hope all are now safely on the mend now.

Congratulations to Margaret!!

Now to today as I mentioned in my email Sue I have managed between things to catch glimpses of what you have been up to while I have been incognito and your cards on the CHA launch were stunning and I now have got the Majestic Morning and Raindrops on Roses papers to go with the stamps and dies from the launch so am a happy bunny now! :)

Today's cards are so pretty especially the first. I can't afford the new stamps on Sam's show at the moment but I can see how I could adapt a Spellbinder die and edge it in black for a similar vase effect until I can get my hands on the real thing!

Today's cards are so fresh especially the first which is my favourite the little flowers are so sweet.

Well you know how things are here at the moment so comments on your posts will still be intermittent for a few weeks yet but I will try and post whenever I get the chance. Take care all

Hi Alison. I use to break out in a sweat as I had the acrylic block hovering over the card I was about to stamp, the more I paniced the more my hands shook (and they already shake) ! But I then tried ROCK A BLOCK blocks, can order from C&C or craft shops. Honest, they help so much with your confidence, you cant NOT get a good impression (providing you use good quality stamps) wink winl : )
they have a little ridge all round that stops any misplaced ink goin g on your work, try them Alison, even if its just to get you over your 'worries' about stamping. They come in several sizes so all the stamps we see Sue use will fit.
Id love to know what you think about this idea.
Good Luck Alison.
Hugs.

Did anyone else try to make perfume in a jam jar - sure there are a few!
Crushed rose petals usually.

Amazing cards Sue!!!!!!!
Saw them on C&C with Sam and Leonie, both cards are so pretty and as Sam said not typical Sue style.
I had to get the curly tree and bird of paradise when I seen the samples. Your flower card is now on my top ten Sue cards as is the curly tree.
I was lucky enough to win a card from Sam and cant wait to receive it.

Good morning Sue

I did'nt realise it was so late. I kept meaning to comment all day ,but got stuck into crafting. I wondered why I was getting tired. Both of the cards today are very pretty and if I really had to choose, I would choose the jam jar and funky flowers.

Kind regards :-)
