Today's gift is just a wonderful creation. With new techniques and old makes a wonderful gift.
When I was a child we used to have this board but it was called 'scraper board' and I used to find it a magic board to use. I'm sure many Wilsonettes can remember it too.

Love the engraving card technique It reminds me of a time when at school we used something similar called Lino board (I think It was 50 odd years ago) and we scratched into it You used the technique in another card and I bought some of the board The pack you showed looks a lot bigger than my A5 pack so am now going of to Joanna Sheen to buy Later I'm going to have a go at the ribbon technique too!

Glenharon said...

Good morning Sue and fellow Wilsonettes,
Well another dreich day in Costa de Glenochil but the Ochils have decided to keep a low profile today.
Oh Sue, i remember when you did this technique and being a total crafter from any age at all (mum didn't believe in knowing how to do something and not pass it on. Why have a dog and bark yourself is her motto) any way this is one of the first crafts i learned to do as i was the one in the corner with the colouring book and pens or pencils, so this was a natural progression. I still have these on my wanted list but like Steph, things are a real treat. I love this ribbon technique its just the fingers don't or won't cooperate, but i'll get it yet. The ribbon that you have used is beautiful being two-toned, showing off its other side to it's best advantage.
Tandy flower, show your grandchildren the beautiful things that their mum didn't get to teach them. With going back to your crafting your are showing them fun, happiness (cos it doesn't matter if it doesn't turn out right
)it gives them an outlet for frustration, but most of all your teaching them good life skills that will see them through their lives. it also is very satisfying to see a youngster or any age completing something that they couldn't before. Their mum couldn't have left them in any better hands than yours.
Debs i am so sorry to hear that your beloved son is in hospital, i hope he is better very, very soon. the best thing about Sue's blog is we get to see beautiful creations like today being made and we have found a whole lot of new friends, who i for one are so grateful to each and everyone of you.
Good morning Steph, i think you and i had a rogue batch of the gliding flakes and glue as mine just wont do anything i want it too either. They go everywhere bar where they should be, on the card. I think this will be a long running battle which we will conquer. You give your lot a good talking to and so will i. we will not take or stand for anymore of their nonsense and disobedience. Hope you are on the road to mend after all the tests and seeing the vampires yesterday, take care flower.
See you all tomorrow hopefully,
Love and crafty hugs
Norah (Glenochil)
Can i pass on a tip for anyone who like me it goes Ops there's an error and you think it hasn't stored your comment and more often than not it hasn't. Once iv'd finished typing i highlight it all from the very end to the start and copy, so that if i get one of these times, i don't need to retype, i just paste in the comment again after checking at the bottom that it hasn't entered. Hope this makes sense,
bye

Hi Sue. WOW !! As always Sue, a fab video with lots of fab ideas and techniques. This is such a gorgeous card today !! It is funny because I have just finished making two cards for two men using my beloved radiant rectangle dies !! I used your sea garden background folder using soft gold card and went over the top with some cast bronze and then some enchanted gold gilding waxes. I loved the results !!
Your card today is just superb. I love the embossed black layer in the middle of the frame you created. I will definately be having go at that one. I really loved how you made the outside frame, backed it with silver card then used the next die size down to cut it out perfectly !! Such a simple, easy idea to do but as usual I would never have thought of doing that !! I will definately be pinching that idea to !! I loved you ribbon technique to but it is still to much for my brain to learn !! I have some engraving board so I will be trying your background out to.
Thank you Sue for more fab inspiration. Lots of love to Sue and everyone Love Tres x x x

Just to say Debs and Tandy I am thinking of you both. wishing you both lots of love and best wishes from Tres x x x
