Wednesday Weekly Card Giveaway

Hello my friends!  This will be the last Wednesday card giveaway for 2013.  If you would like to be a part of it, just leave me a comment.  We will pick them back up after the new year, but the blog schedule does get a bit confusing in December.  A delightfully simple card for the giveaway but it is very pretty in real life.  I started by embossing a piece of coconut white card using the Wild Holly embossing folder by Couture Creations.  I extended the pattern to do a larger piece which was easily done since the pattern was repeatable.  I cut a wild strip of Mauve card and paper pierced the long edges with my piercing ruler and pokey tool.  Next , I cut a smaller coconut white card strip and stamped the flourish on both ends from the What Defines us set by Becca Feeken using a black archival ink pad.  I cut a Vintage Labels 5 (from Justrite stamps) and highlighted it with Dusty Concord Distress Ink while still in the die, then mounted it with foam between the flourishes.  I stamped my sentiment in black (also from What Defines Us) and cut it out with a smaller die from the Vintage Labels 5 set.  I inked it lightly before removing it from the die as well.  I cut one of the tags from the Vintage Bracket and Label die set and added it behind my sentiment.  I layered up all the pieces to create my focal element .  Using the Bitty Blossoms die set, I cut flowers using both the light and dark shades of the purple felt from the Blossom felt pack.  I rolled the flowers, added a flatback pearl to the centre and attached them around the sentiment.  Finally I finished with a double white mat with a pierced inner layer.  The finished dimensions are 8" x 8 1/4" in size.  The winner of this card will be posted in the Saturday blog post!  Don't forget to read all the way to the end of the post then!

On another note, I see that we have reached a new blog candy goal of 4700 followers!  I will be doing the drawing before the end of the week and I will post it in a separate blog post so be sure to check back!  All for now, Sue x
