Thinking Of You

Good Sunday morning crafters!  Only a few more sleeps until Christmas so I hope you are ready!  Slowly but surely I am getting there, just need to finish up all the wrapping today!  Today's card is a little aqua and white number using the stamps and dies from last Sunday's show.  I started by stamping the Lavish Corner Background on to vellum with a clear Perfect Medium pad.  I heat embossed it with white detail powder.  I glued the corners to a piece of aqua card with the embossing on the inside (it shows through the vellum but has a softer look that way).  Next I used the new Vintage Labels Six die from Justrite Stamps to cut an aperture in the middle of it.  I really liked the aperture as it had those interesting looking pieces cut out, not just an oval shape.  I added some mounting foam to the back of this piece.  On aqua card, I stamped my sentiment from the Bold sentiment set by Creative Expressions, using a clear perfect Medium pad and heat embossed it in white.  I centred my aperture over it and attached it.  I used the Timeless Rectangles and cut two of them to make a lacy piece to use behind it.  These fit nicely around the Justrite backgrounds to add a bit of a frilly edged look.  Using the jade felt from the Blossom felt pack, I made a rolled flower with a pearl centre.  I added it atop a messy bow tied from white seam binding and an aqua Baker twine bow.  I finished the card with some flatback pearls in the corner and a double white mat.  Finished dimensions are 6 1/4" x 7 1/4" in size (just a baby sized card for me, huh!)

We have a double lot of winners in the Comment Game this week!  I am so pleased that so many of you still take the time to leave comments this time of year.  I know we are all so busy with preparations to attend to, so thank you so much, I really appreciate the effort!

This week's winners are:
Sue from Wiltshire!!!
Nancy D!!!
NannaPat!!!

From the extra qualifying post of Wed. Dec. 18th, the winners are:
Nicola Belshaw!!!
Steph from Lancashire!!!
Aspiring Crafter (Ruth)!!!

Congratulations all!  Please email me at americansue1@gmail.com to confirm your address and claim your prize!  All for now, Sue x

Hi Sue,
It's a lovely card - was not sure at all about the colours when I saw it on my screen. Like Patricia, thought it was pink and grey but aqua and white is a winning combination. Love the design and the idea of having the embossing showing through the vellum for a softer look. Makes sense now that you point it out but again, wouldn't have thought of it by myself.
Well done you for being nearly there as regards preparations, despite having only just come back from FL and three shows under your belt, plus all the other things you've got going on.
Luckily I only have a couple of presents to wrap, so that's done.

Hugs, Rose

GM Sue - love this especially the Timeless Rectangle frame - I dont have the background stamp or the focal die but going to improvise with others when I try making this in the NY - so it's a must try! Enjoy the pressie wrapping - it never fails to get me in the festive mood. We are all done now apart for getting some garden centre gift vouchers and mince pie making on X-mas Eve. Food shopping all done - it's war out there though! I had a call yday to say my cheese order I'd made in October from a local shop had been taken by another customer!!- I was not happy - but then a couple of hours later they rang to say they had found my order - it had been hidding apparently. So all is well and we have the cheese we wanted. But I am told cheese order thieves are out there if they can't find the cheese they want on the shelves, then then go hunting in customers orders - nice ehh.... Christmas just brings out the best in some folks!

Phew, ok, a few hour's on from my shock and emailed Sue. Not sure if I've calmed right down yet though ! Many congrats to the other lucky ladies and to those longing for this day and not seeing your name, here is the proof it WILL happen and now I almost feel guilty for deafening Mr Lancashire and reacting like I did earlier. Sorry ladies.

Todays card looks grey and pink on my screen also. Wondering Sue, would it be a candidate for a video tutorial one day ?
Im SO sorry, I forgot to send 'good mornings' to you Sue and all Winter Wilsonettes ! Cant imagin why !
Im sorted for Christmas all be it a miserable, very sad time only which dog addicts here will appreciate (going no further with this)
Im hoping for more craft vouchers next whatever day it falls on, so I can spend many hour's in my fav craft store choosing a craft item or two (depending on price v vouchers) to boost up my stash : )

Hoping that all lovely Winter travelling Wilsonettes have got to their destinations safely and have days full of family fun. To my other Wilsonette homies hope your day is a good one and as stressless as it can be. And if all else fails - KICK BUTT

Love and best wishes.
Hugs.

Good morning Sue and fellow Wilsonettes,
Another winner Sue with lovely quirks to it. I thought it looked different in the soft peach and jade until i read it and it was white. It's not until the last picture when it looks winter white that you see the true beauty of the card. Mrs W. what is happening to you, small cards!!! Please you are the only person i know that does my size of cards. Its like a piece, you need it big enough to hold in both hands to eat it. Well cards are the same for me, you need the size so that you get the maximum impact, or i just can't seem to get my head around teeny cards.
I am so chuffed for all the winners, but especially for you Steph, you deserve a win and what better time of the year than now. Enjoy it flower when it comes. You cheer up an awful lot of people each day and somehow its fair that you experience a wee bit joy as well.
Love and crafty hugs
Norah (Glenochil)

P.S. Sorry forgot for people that don't know i'm Scots and don't know what a piece is, it's a sandwich. Bye, take care everyone

What a gorgeous card, love the colours. I would never have thought of turning over the embossed vellum and using the 'back' but it looks really lovely. Hi Sue. This is a lovely card today !! The colours look like grey and a very unpleasant shade of pink on my screen unfortunately but I can imagine them being white and aqua instead !! The lavish corners background stamp looks really lovely, especially on vellum. A great card Sue.
Congrats to all the winners but especially to Lancashire Steph !! I love to read your comments every day Steph, you really cheer me up and make me laugh even when I feel really down. I am so very pleased you are one of today's winners.
Lots of love to every one, love Tres x x x
