You Make My Heart Smile

Hello there my crafty friends!  Today's card was actually not going to be a card.  I was just given the new Opal Blaze products and wanted to see what they looked like.  These products are designed specifically to show up on dark card so I used a piece of black card and swiped a bit of each colour on it.  When I was done, I liked the look of it so much that I just had to use it as a background!  All seven colours of the Opal Blaze are on the background.  I decided to emboss it with the Dotty Flourish embossing folder for texture.  I cut the You Make My Heart Smile All In One in black and glued it to a white backing.  I added some Opal Blaze to a few of the fall away elements; two hearts and the word "my" and paper pieced them back into the design.  The card was completed with white and black mats and layers.  The finished dimensions are 7"  x  8 1/4" in size.  All for now, Sue x

Woah this inspiration is certainly making my heart sing too, imagine having products specifically for use on dark cardstock how brilliant. I couldn't even print white on black card for the blackboard look for A first day at school card for Lottie, so imagine what we could do with this product, the only problem I have is that I don't use black/dark cardstock very often usually just as shadowing so how often would I reach for this when there are dies and cardstock I need more. This die is just gorgeous Sue and I've seen so many beauties made with it.
Have a lovely day wherever you add your comment from in the world, but STAY SAFE STAY SENSIBLE xxx 💖

Good Morning Sue. Omg... What a stunning background... And so appropriate for these times of uncertainty.. As I look at it.. I see rainbows 🌈 in the opal blaze.. which we all now associate with the N.H.S. It always amazes me when we are trying something new out "just to see what happens" and that turns out to be just what you want. Great new product and a beautiful card. Thankyou Sue. Sending hugs and best wishes to everyone who needs them this morning.Kind regards Ann Toppcards Leeds.
PLEASE STAY SAFE EVERYONE 🙏 🙏 🙏

It’s amazing what “playing” with a new material produces. This background is fabulous and the sentiment stands out perfectly. Altogether beautiful!

Wonderful card. The new opal blazes are fantastic and I love this rich background. I have only one of these glazes, a sample(Gilded Avocado) that came in a kit and its sitting here on my desk waiting patiently for me to open.
Hope everyone is safe and well today.

Hi Sue, a great card and if you had a stash of backgrounds like this how quickly you could make a card with your all-in-one dies. The deep embossing shows how good these products are with no splitting or cracking.
