Happy Christmas

Hi bloggers!  First of all, my sincerest apologies that I forgot to mention on yesterday's post about my demo that day on C & C!  I did edit it to add it in but it was about 3pm UK time by the time I realised and did that.  So...  I did say on air that I would give this card away via a drawing on my blog!  So if you like this one and would like a chance to win it, then just leave a comment on today's post.  I will announce the winner on Sunday's post!  While you can still see the demo on C & C if you like, it was during Jamie Rodger's 4:30 pm show with Nigel May.  I will still do a quick recap of how it was made here though.  I started with a piece of white card and added Pearl Lustre Gilding Polish in a few swipes across the card.  I went back in with Frosty Sparkle Glitter Kiss and added a few more swipes for a real frosty look.  Once dry, I embossed it with the Falling Snow embossing folder for texture.  Next I cut the outer die from the Deco Trees Background, added a white backing to it and cut the centre out of it.  I glued a piece of acetate to the back then added mounting foam to raise it.  I attached the embossed background to it (I forgot to mention on air that you could add a bit of Iced Snow to make it a shaker card if desired too)  Next I cut two igloos from the Penguin Palace set.  I used a blue pencil to highlight all the lines, then coated it with glue and added Iced Snow.  On the second one, I just did the front portion of the igloo the same way, then cut it off and added it to the other one with foam.  I cut the Polar Bear and baby out of white card and used the blue pencil to highlight around the edge.  I used a black pencil for the nose and eyes and a small dot of Worn Lipstick for the cheek and ear.  I cut both the Happy die and the scarf from the Polar Bear Playtime set with a piece of sticky adhesive sheet added.  I peeled the backing paper off both of them and used the Ice Blue Shimmer Shaker on it for a soft frosty look.  I glued the scarf on the bear and added both of them to the frame with foam.  I stamped the word "Christmas and cut it out with the tag from the Happy die/stamp combo.  I added a black shadow to the "Happy" and glued it to the top of the frame and added the word below it with foam.  The card was completed with white mats and layers.  The finished dimensions are 6 1/2"  x  7 1/4" in size.  Don't forget to leave your comment and check back on Sunday!  All for now. Sue x

Hi Sue, don't worry in a way it's our problem if we don't check the days programs on that channel, I use to do it religiously but that's when you spent more time here and more time doing demo's on the show, but as you say thank goodness for catch up so I forget one will catch up on this made by your inspiration. It's got my most favourite folder that I use all year plus my favourites from the festive collection - all dies I'd really love to own before I start and get the orders through. You can't remember everything Sue it's just life don't worry, I forget lots of things every day, words I need to use, what I did when, 'my keeper' even finishes my sentences these days lol so heyho.
This is a gorgeous sample that will raise many a smile today xxx

Morning Sue and all Wilsonettes, oh my word, I saw the show and your demo was brilliant, You are the queen of demoing and showed us some great tips, love the blue pencil bit and didn't the igloo and bears stand out with it on. Yes a great tip for us all. You looked so well Sue, it is lovely to see you again, I remember often at the Ally Pally when we used to meet up at the shows, what a catch up we had and your demo area was always packed.

Of course like everyone I would love to have an 'original Sue Wilson' creation, so would like to go into the draw, but I do wish everyone good luck.

I have these dies so will definitely be making this one or trying to anyway.

Stay safe, healthy and happy, hugs, June Smith xxx

Hello Sue and all
What a fabulous way to show off dies from your Christmas release. I am about to start searching the web for some more of these including the penguins and polar bear, I have tried to resist but have given in to temptation - again lol !!
The gilding polish and glitter kiss look so good on the background, love the idea of the acetate and the blue pencil too.
Hugs

I just got through watching your demo on C&C, spent too much money but it was a really good deal.... my hubby won't kill me because he knows how much I love card making and it keeps me off the streets during a pandemic. I can't wait to attempt this card. Wouldn't my grandson love those sweet polar bears? Of course you did say we can send it to grownups also.
Best and safe wishes to all here,

I love all the touches you added to the bears to make them come alive and to the igloo to make it look like glittery snow. This is a delightful card that anyone would enjoy receiving. Thank you for sharing these tips that add such character to the card. You did a fantastic job on Create and Craft in showing us how you made the card. Hugs!

Hi Sue, it was lovely to see you yesterday and I enjoyed your demo. Love the way you highlighted the igloo and polar bears with a blue pencil, that and the glitter on the igloo made it really look as though it was cut from ice. Stunning card and I wouldn't waste it on a child - it would be for my girl friends!
