Just For You

Hi crafters!  I just love this new Feltmark textured card and Old Rose is my go to at the moment!  I started by cutting the Matilda Border die.  I used coconut white as the top, Powdered Pink as the second layer and Old Rose as my base.  I cut two of these curved borders and added then with foam mounting tape to the sides of my coconut white card background.  For the focal element, I cut the Vivian die out of Old Rose card.  I backed it in Powdered Pink card and used the two outer cutting edges with the thin circle centre to cut a frame to go around the edge in white card.  I cut the Just For You sentiment then nipped it apart to use it in a stacked orientation in the centre of the Vivian die.  I cut two Petite Forget Me Not flowers out of Powdered pink card and edged them lightly with Victorian Velvet ink before assembling.  I added the flowers in opposite sides with white leaves as accents.  The card was completed with white, Powdered pink and Old Rose mats and layers.  The finished dimensions are 7"  x 8 1/2" in size.
I have decided to add a little something extra to the blog every once in a while in the form of a question for you to answer in your comments.  Also, it just let's me know you are actually reading the blog and not just looking at the pictures! LOL  So for today's question, if you were stranded on a remote deserted island and could only have one song that you could play over and over again, what would it be????  If you are struggling to come up with an answer, which song is the first to pop into your head, that should make it a tad easier (plus I won't hold you to it if you are ever stranded on an island, it is just a bit of fun, no stressing over it!  LOL)  All for now, Sue x

Great card and a great question. There are so many songs I would class as my favourites. Think I’m a believer by The Monkees is something I could listen to over and over as it has a good beat to it

Morning Sue. A new week and a beautiful sample to start it with. There new colours are absolutely delightful and when used with your dies, they compliment each other gorgeously.

My song would be - Lean On Me by Bill Withers. I won't go into detail because you've not asked us to, but it has such a back story it's so powerful to me that although I cry whenever I hear it, that's my song ☺
I wonder what your song would be lol. Sending love and hugs to start your day xxx

A beautiful card and the colours are just right as always. I love the shades of pink which are so femining.

I rarely listen to music these days because of my deafness but if I had to choose it would have to be a choice between YOURS by Vera Lynn or Maggie that is now playing in my head.lol Hugs to all.

Hi Sue
Oh yes, old Rose and Powdered Pink are such gorgeous colours. They are on my hit list. Matilda is now one of my friends (thanks to my boys on Mother’s Day). She is a star and alongside Vivian (an equally beautiful die), this card is wonderful. The Victorian Velvet ink on the Forget me nots is a perfect match for those colours.
Just the one song - that’s like asking you - if you could only ever use one of your dies for the rest of your life which one would it be?! I can think of so many songs from different times in my life. Ooh which one? I think it would be Hold on by Wilson Phillips. It holds a special place in my heart and never fails to make me sing along at the top of my voice!
A hint of blue sky and the sun is shining this morning - hopefully no more frosty mornings - it is the middle of April after all!
Happy Monday everyone

Well the song has to be ...We'll always be together .. Forever in Electric Dreams ... which has been recently used in a UK tv advert, much to my delight !
The song would give me hope, that i could maybe get away? back to some other familiar place and loved ones one day ! back to reality i suppose.
as pretty as the island might be? i'd get fed up of all the hot weather? x
Do look for escapism often though as we all must do sometimes but i think i'm more of a countryside/beautiful garden type place than a beach/sea scene ? x

A gorgeous card and I am loving that dusky rose shade. Ok I admit some days its just a quick look, but I do usually read Sue. It would have to be an old Barbara Dixon one called Caravan, it speaks to my soul. Difficult to choose a favourite song I love so many but the first one that popped into my head was When a man loves a woman by Perry Sledge But maybe if I was stranded on a desert island Help by the Beatles would be appropriate! !

Love your rose coloured card, I've not heard of felt mark texture card before, will have to look that up.
Nutbush City Limits by Tina Turner has always been a favourite of mine or possibly All Right Now by Free, can't choose between them.
I think we might all be giving away our ages a bit depending on our choice of music! LOL!

Hi Sue, as always a beautiful creation in soft lush colours. I think I'd prefer to have a audio book (they last longer than a song) and are what I craft to on a regular basis - I get the best of both worlds - crafting and a book at the same time! WakeyL

My song would be Bridge Over Troubled Waters by Simon and Garfunkel. Many years ago, I had this on a continuous tape and used to play it over and over while doing the ironing, a job which I hated but made more tolerable with this playing!

Hi Sue,
Beautiful card, love the Rose cardstock. And the Vivian die, Matilda goes to frame it beautifully.
My song if I got stranded: I heard it on the Grapevine performed by Tina Turner at the last show in Wembley (before it got pulled down, as a fitting end to her big concert. Boy that was a magical night.

Hi Sue, I love this card and I am not surprised that you turn to the Old Rose cardstock so much, it is gorgeous. Well you have certainly got me thinking about a song, there are just so many that I love. Anything by The Carpenters, The Beatles or Johnny Mathis' 12th of Never would do but my all-time favourite is House of The Rising Sun by The Animals. The organ intro gets me every time. It is interesting seeing other people's choices and just proves that there really is a song for everyone.

Another beautiful Sue Wilson creation today. You never disappoint. I do appreciate the time and efforts you go to for us crafters to share your vision of design with your line of dies and embossing folders, etc as well as sharing card design creations. I am a better card maker because of learning from you. I am with you on the Old Rose colored card stock. It's so dreamy. If I was stranded on an island the song I would play over and over again would be "You Look Good" by Lady Antebellum. This song makes me smile and I can not help but dance. I just get lost in the rhythm and lyrics. As "they" say: "dance like no one is watching!" I can just visualize me dancing down the beach at the water's edge. Unfortunately the radio station I listen to is no longer playing this upbeat song.

Morning Sue and all Wilsonettes, sorry not been on blog for a few days, been on a parchment retreat, only got back last night, the wifi signal was almost non existent. But I have managed to see the pictures but not read the blog.

This sample using the lovely 3d dies is gorgeous, love the colours you have chosen, brilliant.

The first song to spring to my mind was, "We'll meet again", it ties in with the sentiment, and was and still is our families favourite song.

Stay safe, healthy and happy, hugs, June Smith xxx
