Happy Anniversary

Hello crafters!  Thank you for another very exciting Ally Pally this past weekend!  I saw so many familiar faces and met some new people too!  For today's offering, I started with a piece of Old Rose card and used the Swirly Swirls stencil.  I used silver Luna Paste through it and allowed it to dry well.  Next I cut a square out of the centre using the Double Stitched Squares.  I raised it with mounting foam, then cut the Anna die in white and attached it.  I cut one more Anna die in white and turned it to a diamond orientation and added the second layer of silver card to it and an Old Rose base.  I cut the centre out of it and added a silver mirror card  behind it with a pearl in the centre.  I used the Happy Anniversary shadowed sentiment below cut in silver mirror card with a white base.  The card was completed with white and old rose mats and layers.  The finished dimensions are 8" x 8" in size.  All for now, Sue x

Gorgeous, and it seems pretty simple, but then again you could make it even simpler using foiled card in your stash if you wanted. Love the rose card.

Good Morning Sue and all
What a fantastic card this morning , the effect created with the luna paste works beautifully on the rose card giving it a foiling effect. Love how you have cut a square out of the centre and raised it up which gives a perfect match with the pattern and saves on creating another background.
Crafty hugs to all , Wendy

Good Morning Sue. Hope your back and feet aren't aching too much this morning, that you're managing the jet lag okay but most of all, I hope you are still feeling the warmth and friendship from meeting your blog family.
I always take in the beauty of your samples before reading the method behind it and my first thought was that you had used some luxury cardstock from your stash for the background but when I read that of course YOU had put the background together well all I can say is that it looks stunning Sue. The combination of dies and colours used has resulted in the most gorgeous start to our day and week. Whatever your plans for the day hope it's a nice one. Hugs xxx

Hi Sue

A beautiful card. I love the colour card and the silver Luna paste. It does look like foiling. I bought some but have only used it with debossed die cuts so far. I need to buy some stencils I think.

Glad you enjoyed Ally Pally. I think everyone who went did. Glad you met new fans Sue, and of course saw familiar faces. I’m still amazed how you remember everyone’s names.

Gorgeous. I've ordered some Luna Paste and looking forward to using it. Thanks for the inspiration today. Yesterday I worked on your Sailboat stain glass die. I had made a big sheet using glue, pixie powder and gilding flakes for a swirly background. I really like this look for this stain glass die. I also paper pieced white clouds and sails with a red sailboat. Then I worked with the Hummingbird stain glass die. This time I paper pieced all the areas. I actually enjoyed doing this paper piecing due to the tiny bits not flying around my craft room. The "Press and Seal" plastic wrap really worked to hold all those pieces together and it was easy to see where they belonged. I used mirror, satin and glitter card for the paper piecing. It is a nice look.

Hi Sue. I really like that old rose coloured card and also that you have used mirror card (which is unusual for you!). Love the way you have used the die cut in both orientations and that stencil is going to have to find its way into my shopping basket.

Hello Sue,

What a beauty today. The Lustre gilding polish on the old rose paper is stunning and elegant. It makes such a beautiful background for the focal element. What a clever way of way of showing off the focal element by cutting into the background, elevating it on foam tape and then adding the focal element. Well done.
