Wednesday Weekly Card Giveaway

Hello crafters!  It seems like a fair bit of time since our last card giveaway, doesn't it?  Today's card is a silver and white number with a paved pearl edge on it.  I started by embossing a square of coconut white card with the Snowflake Mosaic embossing folder for texture.   Next I cut the Snowflake Flourish and Corner die out f silver pearl card.  I cut four corners and four of the border flourishes.  I glued the four corners into place and connected the four border flourishes to create a square shape.  I mounted it in a diamond orientation in the centre of the card to a smaller piece of white card.  I cut the Let it Snow Snowflakes and attached it to the centre die from the Holly Lattice Frame die.  I cut a second one in silver and nipped it apart to provide a shadow for the sentiment.  I added mounting foam to the entire piece to raise it and added it to a wider piece of coconut white card.  Leaving about a half inch gap around the topper, I used that area for my Paved Pearl technique (see tutorial at the top of the page).  I used Cosmic Shimmer white PVA glue to create this, then added a double white mat to complete the card.  The finished dimensions are 8" x  8" in size.  Leave a comment to be entered into the drawing to win this card.  The winner will be drawn and announced on Saturday's blog post.  All for now, Sue x

Sue what a gorgeous card, perfect for the Wednesday giveaway. Very festive, Someone will be very lucky.
CraftyJo, you have Sussed me out, no I don't sleep well. Always wake between 3 and 4 that's why I like to start work early. Leave just after 6 am.
Laine, so sorry to hear about Yvonne, hope she is starting to feel better. Please pass on my good wishes to her.
Myra, I too love Frys Cream, both the blue and green packs. Many any years ago,my beloved elder cousin used to eat Frys Cream sandwiches, I tried one and it was delicious. It brought back a lovely memory of Our Edie, who died a long time ago, so thank you for reminding me.
I too agree with the comments regarding the Anonymous post, not worth getting upset about, cowardly way to do things. Let's just keep this fabulous blog friendly, supportive of alland esoecially our wonderful Sue.. We all love our craft,we also can be kind generous, friendly and supportive, what's the harm in that. As has been said, read the comments if you wish, if not Walk On By.
Maureen good luck with the kitchen renovations, look to the future when it is all beautiful.
Hug basket is full and ready to go, passing some in to poorly and missing friends.

Morning Sue. Not only does this generous giveaway sample look beautiful in your chosen colour scheme, I love to see your samples made by fb and blog user's in lots of various colour schemes, its just amazing how a slight change in colour can change the complete look. As I've said in previous comments I've not been able to buy any of this year's festive collection but I love to see both what you and others make with them. Thank you for the chance of being a proud owner of this delicate beautiful piece of Sue Wilson. Cowardly messages are not worth reading although I did - if only there was a way to stop this intrusion, I don't see this happening on other CE blogs, so why here ?
Sending my usual love and hugs your way Sue and hope your day is a good one xx

Dear Sue and All Assorted Dearie Pies,

Once again, I'd like to remind you that I should have immunity from the debossed Poinsettia Border and corner, and the Let it Snow Song. But still you continue to make them increasingly hard to resist! I stand resolute, at least until the new year.

Today and yesterday, my dies from the launch arrived. So happy to see what they look like in person.

Myra, Mark Twain might be where I learned most of what I know about German. Much of my background is German on my father's side, and Scotch Irish on my mother's.

Maureen Killen, six years seems like the too short a time between kitchen renovations. I've gone without vacuuming for longer than that. And I'm dejected at being taken off the list. Is a virtual card the same as an imaginary card? I have to know so I can decide whether to be devastated.

The anonymous complaint seems to have been removed by its author. I'm nodding off, so may your Wednesday be amazing whether you're holding up a fellow blog commenter or floating on our love.

Love,
Donita

Well I'm so glad I waited until I could see this card on my desktop. I have to say that on my iPad it looked so dull and dreary that I thought everyone's comments were just being nice. Now however I can see it in it's full glory and it's gorgeous. Whoever wins this one is going to be so pleased.
Hope everyone has the best day possible. I agree with you Pam. Yes it is the crafting that has brought us all to this blog along with supporting Sue but we can still be caring. I do remember Sue's comments at the end of last year and I agree with her that the comments had become rather morbid but I'm sure that at the same time Sue would not want us to stop caring. Morning Sue, what a beautiful 'give away' card. First of all there are give away dies from your launch followed by your weekly Wednesday qiveaway card. You are so generous and thoughtful. I love your paved borders, especially on this card. I keep trying to add one to some of my special cards. However, the last time I did one, I got so excited because it was looking great......then I stuck my hand on it turning the card around for my last side. Oh well! These things happen. Hi Sue, I think that this is one of those cards that look so much better in real life as I don't think the photographs do it justice - and that is no slur on your abilities, I promise. I think it is very clever to create a whole card using just one die and even with the paved pearl border it will be good for posting.

Laine - please pass on my best wishes to PP when you speak to her on Thursday. The pair of you have really been through the mill lately.
Elaine - hoping that Andrew is feeling a bit better today. Enjoy playing with your new machine this afternoon.
Jess - did you not know that cats are psychic? Hope you managed to capture them :-)
Rosemary - you made a pig from card? This could be a new venture for you lol

Hello Sue,
Isn't it wonderful what we can do with corners and the marvellous dies? This is an example of simplicity except it requires careful placing, imagination and a steady hand for the paved pearl effect done with the cosmic shimmer, it's super!
Oh I've had some laughs and uplifting moments on here this morning - better than a tonic from the GP. Keep up the good work ladies!
Pam, I wake up a lot during the night but don't get up. I lie there and stew ha ha.
Nanny Joo Joo from Sunny Scunny, in some parts of the World die and day sound the same. As in have a good day when in Australia ha ha.
Donita, my son in law is obviously bored in between renovating houses, so my daughter and him have decided to "update" us by causing havoc here. Still, it's only (ONLY!!!) the cost of materials and not labour. As for hoovering - who does such a thing ha ha. You continue to stand resolute until after Christmas as I've put a bet on you to "fold" then!!!
Elaine, I'm starting pole dancing classes next week ha ha. That's another one in my dreams as I'd be unable to walk afterwards!! Hope all is well at your end. Turn the boards so that the bottom becomes the top!!
Rosemary, wish I could make a whole pig, I always make a pig's ear of things ha ha.
Laine, sorry to read about Yvonne, please give her my love and tell her that I'll leave off ringing until next week when, hopefully, she will feel a lot better. I hope your mouth is less painful.
Saba and Myra, you get all the fun. I couldn't find the anonymous comment but surly you will tell me about it ha ha.

Hello Sue,
I do love the paved pearl technique - mine isn’t always successful but I’m getting better. I don’t have the snowflake borders and corners but have the Sentiment! How very remiss of me! Lol. I have the Poinsettia ones though so can’t have everything! All in all a lovely card today once again . Really like it. Thanks Sue!
Pam - you seem more relaxed and I hope that’s the case! Isn’t it funny how small things like a bar of chocolate remind us of special people!
Laine it made you remember too! I’m a bit odd - ok - it’s official - I don’t like ice cream very much. In fact I only have it if it comes as part of a dessert . My Dad always bought me Fry’s Cream when he bought everyone else an Ice Cream. When I was a small girl there were no freezers so ice cream was something you had when you were out! Nardinis in Largs was our local favourite . Anyone been there?
Elaine - sorry about Andrew not feeling so well. Yes keep turning those plates whichever way is necessary - you will soon know what I mean! You also have a rubbery black magnetic sheet! Make sure your Dies aren’t facing down on to that! You will end up with lots of fridge magnets.!! Guess who did that?
Sam - I agree - whatever did we do before iPads etc! Glad it was just an Internet problem as I missed you yesterday.
StephanieK - hope you have a lovely Thanksgiving Day tomorrow! Trust me - you wouldn’t be happy on the beach here just now! Enjoy!
Laine - sorry to hear about our Princess , Yvonne. Sending you both lots of love and please tell her she is missed. ( if you get a word in!) lol.
Nanny Jo - so pleased you haven’t been banished !!
Jess - please tell me you aren’t in the cage instead of the cat!
Think I’d better go!

Good evening lovely Sue and her crafty crew!

Yes, you’re right, it does seem ages since we had a Wednesday Giveaway and what a fabulous card to offer us on its return:-) i just love the pave pearl technique, the effect as a background is magnificent.....just be sure to keep it well out of the way until it dries, i learned this a little too late when Brodie jumped on the table where it was sitting, freshly done, and promptly stood in it!:-) As you can imagine it was ruined and we had cosmic shimmer paw prints all over our wooden flooring. That being said, it is definitely worth the effort because the results are so eye catching and add texture to the card. I like the silver card, its much nicer than mirri card which i find a bit garish, and the dies used work so well together, what a beautiful composition.
To all cat lovers on the blog, Darcey may be getting her confidence back, she asked to go out at her usual time and came home 90mins later to tell me she wanted to go a walk with me....yes, really!....it turns out that she had been crossing her legs until then and did the toilet during our walk which was just typical of cat behaviour, awkward or what:-) Fingers crossed for tonight but it appears that I am now permanently roped into nightly constitutionals with my fur babies , if it makes them happy then so be it however they benefit from a fur coat which protects them against the chilly winds, i on the otherhand have a nightie and fleece dressing gown, no comparison really.
Myra, i’ve Been to Largs as a small child and sampled the ice cream at Nardinis my Mum informs me, they are famous on the West Coast of Scotland. The one thing I miss living in Stirling is the coast, I was brought up in Troon and Ayr and really took it for granted, its a lovely coastline. I’ll pass on your love to Yvonne tomorrow too,
Pam, hope your BP is improving, could it interfere with the plans for your operation if it remains high? Life at work should be much improved for you though which is a massive bonus. Frys Cream sandwiches? Am i the only one who finds the thought of this repulsive?:-) It sounds worse than beef dripping sandwiches though i’m Sure my Dad would have loved it.
Jess, hope you managed to catch your pussies today, yes, they have a sixth sense when it comes to the vets, Brodie quite happily gets into the cat carrier but Darcey is an altogether different kettle of fish.....:-) Hope they are both in good health.
Donita, resistance is futile, believe me i know! Just let your impulse take control, it will make you so much more happier.
Maureen, thanks for the warning, i will tell Yvonne to turn her phone off next week just in case:-), the last thing she needs is a conversation with you when she’s feeling under the weather:-)
Elaine, hope you managed to get a play with your new machine and dies. Thinking of Andrew, hope he picks up again soon, big hugsxxx
Rosemary, my mouth is more or less back to normal now but i’m Not looking forward to having to go through the whole process again next week, root canal treatment is pants! Hope you are feeling well honeyxxx
Saba, well spotted, it made me chuckle as well, I don’t take these occasional negative comments to heart anymore, they’re not worth bothering about really because there are far more lovely people using this blog whose opinions actually matter to me:-)
Love and hugs to allxxx

Hi Sue. Beautiful card but the colours on my iPad don't do it justice. Better in the hand I think.

Hi Sue,

Beautiful giveaway card. Love the embossed background and the paved pearl edge. I had no idea how you made it. Thanks for the great tutorial, very useful.
Good luck everyone for the draw.

Elaine – Sorry about Andrew not feeling so well. Hugs for you all.
Maureen - Is only the kitchen that you plan to renovate :)
Saba – I know I do lots of grammar mistake, be gentle please.
Laine – Please be kind and pass my good wishes to my friend and ally PP.
Diane Green - Do you always see the half full of the glass?
Frances - I didn’t know that you have a great sense of humor.
Donita, Myra, Maureen & Saba (not necessarily in this order) –Thank you for the daily dose of laughter.

Hugs to you all,
