A Friend Is Like A Rainbow

Good Sunday morning all!  This card was quite a funky little demo I did on my last shows.  It is a great way to use up some of those extra scraps of card we all have (and boy do we!) LOL  I attached strips of yellow, blue and raspberry card to a piece of copy paper using some spray glue.  Next I randomly cut small frames from it using the Stitched Hexagons die set.  On another piece of coconut white card, I glued them into place across the corner of the card in a sort of honeycomb fashion.  There was no match to the colours at all, just random.  In the upper corner I added my sentiment which I stamped on to a separate piece of card, then cut around it using the inner die from the Lavish Accented Hexagon die set.  Then I added a multi layered frame around it using a wider white frame and one of the hexagons with colour on it.  I liked that the sentiment related a friend to a rainbow, which is just what the card ended up looking like!  The card was completed with white on white mats and layers.  The finished dimensions are 7" x  8 1./4" in size.

The winners of this week's Comment Games are :

Yvonne 19856!!!
Marleine Rayner!!!
Sunnybec!!!

Congratulations all!  Please email me at americansue1@gmail.com to confirm your address and claim your prize.  All for now, Sue x

Love this card,, it's clean, colourful and very modern looking.
Congratulations to comment game winners. Enjoy your prizes.
So many happy recipients of Sues generosity, we are truly blessed on this blog.
Ann Topcards, I'm so sorry to hear that your brothers treatment has been postponed. I hope he recovers enough strength to have his treatment soon. He is lucky to have such a loving sister to help him.
Crewe Trish, what a day you had. Hope Mum and hubby are feeling better now. Now you need a treat and Sues dies would be perfect for you.
Tracy, it's no wonder you are feeling tired honey. You have so much on your mind at the moment. At least when you get your new dies, I bought them too, you may have inspiration to use them. I'm going to use mine on mixed media too. Sending you lots of supporting hugs too.
Donita, loved your bubbles therapy, sounded so beautiful and relaxing.
Saba, no offence meant. My die set with the two cocktail glasses arrived yesterday, it's huge, beautiful and you would love it too.
Carmen, it must have been a huge wrench to leave your family and homeland to emigrate, you have done so well and made a wonderful life for you and your family. You truly have a formidable inner strength to overcome that and a new language to.
Daily hugs to all, hope you are enjoying your weekend. Special thoughts to poorly and missing friends and also the Wiksonettes who are daring for poorly family members.

Good morning Sue. Fabulous card, I saw it and thought how much patience you must have to paper piece the hexagons and then I read how you'd made it! Brilliant way of using up scraps of paper, and I love the sentiment too. Hugs to all. Sue xxx

Morning Sue. A colourful simple but happy kind of start to our day. Left over bits !!! Where do I start ? An old plastic small storage box with small leftovers separated into similar blues, shades of pink etc on the bottom of my cardstock shelf, I have an A4 cellobag where I 'play' - a disorganized mess where all sorts of leftover bits get thrown, and a hugh plastic box full, when do you realise its time to stop and have a sort out. Every little corner or strip I keep for tiny centre's of flowers or leaves, I even cut the excess card left from the negative when I've cut a die to use for the smaller daisy or peony etc and the once I did have a sort through, the guilt of recycling my card was ridiculous lol so yes we know what you mean about scraps 😕
A lovely sample with fresh happy colours.
Congratulations to the comment winners, have fun with your gift.
Sending love and hugs and thanks for sharing today's inspiration xxx

Morning Sue

I hope Thanksgiving wasn't a wash out.

Lovely fresh card today - and using leftovers as well. It just goes to show what can be achieved if you just give it some thought. I think Jan is right it would make a great trendy teenager card. This age range especially for boys I find is very difficult. It seems so much easier for teenage girls.

Congratulations to our winners hope you have fun with your prizes.

Happy Sunday

Morning Sue and all Wilsonettes, such a pretty sample this morning and as you say a great way to use up those left overs. I too have loads of them I try to put the left over bit back into the same packet/box that the card came from that way I don't have loads of different bits and pieces that I have to sort through, have you noticed how many different shades of white and card sizes there are, to me there is nothing worse then putting the wrong white on a card, it shows up so quickly. Anyway I digress, I really like the sentiment, it means so much to so many people.

Pam I reiterate all you have said, and I am giving away free lots of hugs too, just help yourself.

Off to a craft workshop all day today, lots of stamping, inking and flower making, it is our last monthly one of the year so we are having a little Christmas party as well, crafting to Christmas music, looking forward to it. I think hubby is going to put the decorations up today, he is like a little kid and always puts them up so early, but he loves it.

Stay safe, healthy and happy, hugs, June Smith xxx
