Ransom Note Birthday

Hi bloggers!  Our first sentiment die of the autumn release is up first today.  While it is part of the Expressions category, it was designed to work well with the Industrial Chic collection.  The goal for this one was to be a bit quirky, hence the ransom note design with the mixed fonts.  It can easily be cut apart to be used in one line or two lines and you may have noticed it on the Industrial Chic Frame and Tag sample done that way.  I think this one will be a real go to for your male oriented cards in the future.  If you would like to be included in this drawing, just leave me a comment on this post.  I would love to hear what you think of the launch so far!  The next blog post has been scheduled for 12 noon today.  I hope to see you back here then!  All for now, Sue x

Day 3 starts with a gorgeous card and die set. This will be so useful for the younger set too, quite funky.
This launch is certainly generating lots if varied interest and comments. You do like to stir our creative juices Sue.
Carmen, I think I named you well when I called you Dorothy, it has certainly caught on.
June, has Colin weakened yet.
Elaine, I hooe Andrew is feeling better, he is a very strong willed person. Hugs fir him and you.
Donita, how are things going, any sign of being reconnected yet, it must be so difficult for you, we take basic things like heat water and electricity for granted.
Ah well, I thought it was going too well at work,my manager handed me a letter yesterday giving niotice of a formal action meeting, next Wednesday.. She still says there are no such thing as Soecial circumstances so I to,d her I had spoken to the union and they say there is. Just when I'm trying to keep my blood pressure down, talk about stress.
My basket is full of hugs fir all, help yourselves to whatever is needed, some fir the poorly and missing friends too.

Morning Sue. Almost there ☺ I'm loving the background on this sample, I've raided our local Bernardo shop for books to rip stick and age with inks for a few cards .... hey, I'm a 'Grungy ' lol and the way the train comes bursting through like that looks amazing. So, I'm waiting with excitement to see what comes out way today before we pack up for a drive deep into farmland tomorrow to avoid all those horrible awful fireworks that frighten and stress our 4paws beyond belief I do wish the law could be changed to stop back garden type fireworks and leave it to the private displays - talking about gardens Sue ☺ .......

Love the background today.

Dear Sue,
Yup, had to get this one, too. It's especially nice without the exclamation point.

Pam, so sorry her error caused you any consternation. She is just wrong, and she might be sorry if there's a consequence for bullying workers. Still, my heart would be pounding if that happened to me. You always seem to gain strength from manager misbehavior.

Laine, you are a master of hyperbole!

Maureen Killen and Myra, Oh! You mean Guy Fawkes! I see what you mean about long memories. In looking him up, I also learned what the drawn part of drawn and quartered meant. One of the beach communities here has a Guy Fawkes day toward the end of the summer. Basically they have an end-of-summer bonfire. With a reenactment.

Power is still out. The estimate is Thursday at 2 p.m., about when I leave for work. It's really not so bad, but I rejoiced when an earlier estimate put it at 11:20 p.m. Wednesday. I'll be happy when it does come back on. One thinks of Puerto Rico. I have a lot of respect for the resilience of people coping for months without power or fuel or distribution systems.

Enjoy your Thursday releases and keep your embossing powder dry,

Hello Sue
I like the quirkiness of this die and the background is winning me over but the curled edges I can't cope with yet maybe one day.
I am off to the NEC today so elbow pads at the ready you need them to get near any stall that sells your dies.
Pam they are doing their best to make you go voluntarily so they don't have to pay you out make sure you have someone with you but but your health and sanity is more important Donita I hope the power is finally back on.Elaine I hope Andrew feels better today

Pam that’s the last thing you need so hope all goes well. I assume you can have your union rep with you at the meeting. Otherwise I advise you to talk to ACAS. They are very helpful and will only mediate if you request it but will give you plenty of advice.
Off to the NEC shortly for the Hobbycrafts show.

Greetings, whether classy or quirky, are always a great thing to have. This one does not necessarily need to be steam punk and would be great for teenage cards. Is there a railway engine stamp or dye coming up I wonder, oh I do hope so. Coming from a Railway family it would be a must have for me.
I am off on my holidays in about an hour so posts may be a little sporadic whilst I play catch-up in the evenings whilst I am away.

Hello Sue,
I have to admit that I love this card! I love the train bursting through the paper and the font on the sentiment is great, as ever! Someone else said - was it Izzy - that they collect your sentiments - I have nearly all of them too! They are all brilliant! They are stylish but are easy to read! I look at some from other designers and think - “ what does that say?” I’d use that exclamation mark with other Dies as well!
So sorry Pam! You don’t need this aggravation! Wow I did laugh though at the thought of all of us turning up! Lol!
Donita hope the power comes back later - yes, we are fortunate to live in a country where damage is repaired quickly and the infrastructure is there to help aid the progress! “Drawn “ - wasn’t nice Was it!! Mind you quartered wouldn’t have been fun either!! Lol!
To all going to the NEC have a great time! I went with my daughter in law two years ago and she loved it too. She isn’t a Crafter! I loved seeing all the Christmas ideas too! Enjoy! Safe travel!
Pat L - I think they paid Maureen to go out and leave them in peace!!

I spotted this die yesterday. I love the mixed mixed lettering and the size of the die makes it a focal on its own.
Pam, Elaine has the plan but until then take your union rep and daughter and don't let this old biddy upset you.
Donita, I am assuming...positive thoughts, that you have lights, water, warmth etc. Yes, the poor Puerto Ricans. I can not imagine going so long in such disastrous conditions.
Everyone enjoy NEC. I would love to be able to go to all the craft shows/fairs you all have. I think you live in a special crafty country.

Hello Sue,
Love this die, if ever a sentiment die could be said to be versatile its this one. Your background is amazing, the train looks like it's coming out of the page. Fabulous Sue, well done.
I'm on catch-up so will comment on today's goings on later!
Love and hugs for all

Hi Sue,
Love this die and the fact that it can be cut and replaced as you mentioned. The thing that really caught my eye though is that train. I love it and so does my hubby who loves steam trains.
Pam, so sorry that the Wicked Witch From The West (aka your manager) is back! She sounds like a real piece of work. You don't need this when you're trying to get your bp down! Make sure your union rep is with you and your daughter - please don't go on your own. Xxx
Donita sorry to hear power is still down, hope you are back on soon xx
Love and hugs to all, Alison( craftyAlimecca) xx

Hi Sue and everyone

I do like this bold funky Happy Birthday font used on the die. It doesn’t have to be used with steampunk either which is good for me as I’m not really into it. Looks great with the dragonflies.
