Wednesday Weekly Card Giveaway

Hello bloggers!  Back around to another Wednesday card giveaway, they do come around quickly, don't they? LOL  I started this one by simply embossing a piece of coconut white card with the Tulip Twist embossing folder for texture.  I rubbed over the top of it with Silver Dream gilding Polish, then buffed it with a piece of kitchen roll.  Next I cut the Infinity Striplet twice out of a piece of coconut white card using just the inner decorative die.  I backed it with a piece of Silver Shine card and added mounting foam to the back of it.  I cut the Cape Verde die out of Silver Shine card twice.  I cut one in half across the shorter part of the die and the other one in half across the longer part of the die.  I added the halves to the striplet so they were peeking out from around it on all sides.  I added this to the centre of the embossed background.  I cut just the centre section of the Cape Verde out of silver and backed it with white and added it with foam to the centre of the card.  I stamped my sentiment and ct the very centre die from the Cape Verde and used it as a frame around the sentiment.  I added that piece to the middle of the card.  Finally I added a floral element to the card by scrunching the Striped Nasturtiums cut out of white card.  Once assembled, I added the same silver gilding polish to the edges of the petals and seated the flowers around the sentiment.  I added leaves from the set as well.  I made two matching stick pins and seated the flowers on a thin white satin ribbon bow and attached the stick pins.  The card was completed with white and silver mats.  The finished dimensions are 7 1/2" x  9" in size.  Leave a comment to be entered into the drawing to win this card.  The winner will be announced on Saturday's blog post.  All for now, Sue x

A beautiful card Sue, quite lovely. Oh to be so lucky.
Tragic news from Manchester, one of the guys on my team, his daughter and friend were there but managed to get out okay and text her dad to let him know. Deepest sympathies for all the families involved. Once again, our emergency services were superb and also everyone who helped. I so admired the homeless man who went to help people and the car drivers who took people home to help.
What is this world coming to. I don't think any city or town large or small can be complacent about security now .
Pat, hope your poor hubby gets some good news soon, so disheartening, take care both.
Cheryl your walk sounded peaceful and stunningly beautiful. Warm weather always things look and feel much better.
My daily hugs to all, missing and poorly friends, carers too. . Take care everyone, stay safe.

Oh Sue. This gorgeous gift is just what is needed today, it's beauty and it's delicacy is beyond words, it's a 'soothing' type of gift which will help lift hearts and spirits, especially today, we lost 3 hearts from our area, the youngest - 8 - such a beauty.
barbiepinkfairy (Alison) was on duty as they bought children in for care at our local hospital not only a nurse but lovely mummy to a beautiful young lady, an age of those being cared for, what kind of friend would I be if I'd not thought of how she is after that shift !
So today's gift is a real gift and heart warming too, it brings a gentle smile to sad and angry hearts. Love n hugs to you Sue xxx

Another beautiful card! Love the scrunched nasturtiums and stick pins along with texture and shine. The infinity die is very romantic...or is it
The influence of being on holiday in Sorrento that makes it appear that way? Whatever it is the card is simply stunning and i would love to be in with a chance to win it!

Another classic, graceful SW creation. I'm wondering how to get gilding polish on the scrunched petals. They're pretty hard once they dry.
After watching Hochanda, I started getting ideas I wanted to try with the stained glass dies. Forgot I didn't have them.
There is so much sorrow in just regular life, never mind a deliberate evil act. Cards, even if we put our all into them, seem pretty small and ineffective alongside the mountains of pain and the depths of suffering. Maybe the only soothing or comforting that's possible is the love that comes through. I wish we could deliver enough to heal everything.
I used to imagine myself as courageous in the face of adversity, persistent when all seemed to be failing. Instead, it turns out, I'm likely to rip your face off if you say good morning. Actually, I have found it's a pretty effective way to deal with clueless people calling to complain. Found it out by accident. They sweeten right up if I am more angry than they are. Hope that doesn't backfire.
My engagement is ending, my cat erased all the saved messages on my answering machine, I lost my best watch, I'm missing work frequently, and everything seems too hard. So much for my heroic character. It's nice that all the flowers are coming out. My yard is mostly weeds and escapees, so I'm liking the violets, a buttercup, myrtle and wild raspberry blossoms. I should open the window next to the lilacs.
I hope everyone breathes in a little life moment today.
Love,
Donita

Love,
Donita

Hi Sue,
I really like this one especially the scrunched up flowers and the colour. I never have much success with the gilding polish either ( like the Pixie Powders!) - it never seems to go on evenly for me and I en up with it all blotchy! I'm just useless I know! Whoever wins this one will love it I'm sure.
My thoughts and prayers are with those who have been caught up in the tragic events in Manchester but especially to the friends and families of the victims- so awful.

Good afternoon Sue and the Wilsonettes,
Oh Sue, this is so pretty flower, so very pretty and i love absolutely everything about this card. The white against the silver sheen is so pretty and oh how i wish i could get to grips with the gilding wax as it makes a beautiful addition to the card. The stripe nastrutiums are going to be a must have i think as they look so lovely all scrunched up on the front. Just imagine this landing on your door mat, WOWOWOWOW and WOW Sue,oh just how beautiful is todays card. Thank you flower for such a stunning reason to look in.
Steph, Barbiepink fairy is just as beautiful on the inside i can assure you from personal experience of a beautiful lady. Her heart is as big as it could be, so kind and caring, understanding and thoughtful. Yes perhaps she is i say lightly here just doing her job, but this world would be a far better place with a few more people just like her. Barbie flower, i hope you have some "lighter" work soon, you and all your angel colleagues that are working tirelessly to help those in the most desperate of need of your services. Sending hugs down to you lovely lady.x
Donita flower, i know it is hard at the moment but you will get through this time and move on to better and more deserving off you. Sending hugs to wrap around you and hopefully help you get back that tenacious spirit that has just drifted off for a wee while, it will come back to help you get back to the Donita that is known and loved.
Well it's dry and the hills have decided to waken up from their misty slumber although i don't think the weather has a clue what it wants to do today, i will be happy if it just even stays as it is. Sending hugs to all that really need them for whatever reason as i think there needs to be a lot more of those in this world,
love and crafty hugs
Norah (Glenochil )

You can’t do all, but you can do your best. And don’t forget to stop and smell the roses or the lilacs:) The beauty of our life is coming from small things. Beverly - as you say 9/11 had a huge effect on all of us - even this side of the pond! We visited two weeks after - and I'll never forget the kindness we were shown simply for not cancelling our holiday . Will never forget that day and what happened in Manchester wasn't as big but it was the fact that children were targeted that hit me! Thank you.
We are fortunate to live in a Democracy - freedom is precious!
