Double Noble Sunday

Good Sunday morning all!  I have a double bill of Noble dies for today's blog post.  First up are the Ovals.  I started by embossing a piece of white card with the Jacobean Floral embossing folder for some background texture.  Next I cut the "frames" with the oval dies in three different sizes, but with each one of these, rather than keeping the dies equal distance apart, I pulled one side together to create a sort of elliptical frame.  With each set of these, I inked them while they were still in the die using Barely Nude Colour Cloud.  I removed the dies and added mounting foam to each of the frames.  I seated them on  my background with the thinner edges on top of each other so they appear to be radiating outwards from that point.  I stamped my sentiment and cut it out with the Pierced Flags and lightly inked it as well.  I seated the sentiment across the frames then created a flower using the Perfect Peony die.  I inked the edges with the same colour and then "sugared" it with Iced Snow.  I seated the flower on the end of the strip with some Lace Edged leaves and Dandelion Clocks as accents. I added a side view butterfly from the Magical Butterfly set cut out of coconut white card as a finishing touch to the outer frame edge.  I completed the card with a white on white pierced mat and layer.  The finished dimensions are 8" x  8 1/2" in size.  Scroll down for card number two.

Card number two uses the Double Pierced Noble Circle Set B dies.  I started this card exactly the same way with a white Jacobean Floral embossed background (yes I do like that folder! LOL)  Next I cut a large frame out of black card using the Circles.  While the card was still in the die, I carefully moved it on to the Jacobean Floral folder with the cutting edge of the die away from the folder.  I covered it with a tan mat and several pieces of card as a shim and then added the raspberry adaptor plate.  Leaving the folder open, I ran it through the Platinum machine to emboss just the centre area on the frame.  Before removing it from the die, I lightly rubbed it with Enchanted Gold Gilding wax to enhance the design.  I added mounting foam to the back of the frame.  I embossed a piece of vintage gold card with the same folder and rubbed it with Midnight Gilding Wax.  I buffed it then seated the frame over it and trimmed the excess away.  I stamped a sentiment then created a frame from the Belgian tag out of gold and black card and seated it over the sentiment, then added it to the centre of the card.  As a floral accent, I cut enough Exquisite Poppies out of gold card too create five flowers and I arranged them on the circular frame, seating them with black jute bows and olive branch leaves.  The card was completed with white, black and gold mats and layers.  The finished dimensions are 8" x  8"in size.

Gorgeous cards, perfect both but no 1 is my fav, it would make a stunning wedding card.
Congratulations to comment game winners.
Elaine, I hope you feel better today, you and the family have had such a traumatic time, it will take it out on you, please take care.
June, good news that you are feeling less sore but so sorry you have had problems with staff, I wish some of them would remember that patients are there in pain and poorly and not just a number to them, thank goodness the majority of nursing staff have a true vocation.
Tina, happy news that Peter is regaining some of his mobility and has been back in his man cave.
Sharon, agree with physio, watch that wound but well done on progress.
Well wishes to all poorly and missing friends, Tina and Mick, Laine and Mum, Lorraine, PP, Betty, Wheeley, Lynda.
Wendy, good luck on job hunt but have some me time too.
Tracey, good luck for tomorrow, you will do great I'm sure but don't overdo it.
Hugs to all

Double Sunday smiles to you, you big tease lol. I need, I want, I must get as soon as my numbers come up both these dies. How long have I been moaning and groaning about how important these are to me (I know, far too long) but just look what you can do with them for goodness sake ! Oh Sue you have given us 2 gorgeous cards this morning, black and gold are meant for each other, but it makes me even more frustrated that I'm not going to be able to own any more of these Nobles until next year - boohoo.
So double hugs are heading your way, slightly damp from my tears of frustration, and I wish you a great day.
Many congrats to the 3 winning ladies enjoy playing with your gift.
Today I shall be back to my festive order - the cards I'd chosen to do for each order had been carefully selected from your inspiration but not a copy just to give me ideas have now completely changed lol and I thought I was so well prepared, oh well, isn't it a woman's perogative to change her mind ? Why do I not make things easier for myself ?!!!!
Look forward to tomorrow ☺ xxx

Wonderful cards, Sue, saw a sample you did on one of the shows similar to the first but with circles and loved it. Clever idea. Made me buy a circle set of nobles. Love the second too. All favourite colours so a great double day, thank you.
Forgot it was 'clocks' so have been up (like Pam no doubt) since 4.15, utter madness, especially as cats then think it's breakfast time. Not (but just a few treats to the pesterers!).
Tracy - will be thinking of you tomorrow - guess there will be a lot of happy colleagues and customers pleased to see you back. Just take it easy.
Well done to the three comment winners.
Hugs to all who need them.

What a fabulous idea to offset the ovals, I received my oval Noble Dies from SET yesterday so I'm lucky enough to own sets 1 of the round and oval dies, now saving for the sets B.

Morning Sue and all Wilsonettes, oh goodness 2 beautiful cards today, I so love all the noble dies and what you have created with the first one is my favourite, I must have a go at this when I get a chance. Perhaps you could do a video of it or demo it on Hochanda please.

Well breakfasted, showered and exercises done, it is amazing how every day you do something that you could not do the day before, night time sleeping is still not right yet but is getting there, thank you all for your kind thoughts and wishes. Theresa G they call me a tortoise but I will win the race you watch.

Congratulations to all the lucky winners, enjoy your prizes.

Tina T have you tried putting an ice pack on Peter's swollen leg and foot, they told me at the hospital to purchase a couple of very cheap packets of frozen peas and keep reusing them wrapped in a tea towel, it certainly brought the swelling down for a while, it might work or might not but worth a try. Also it was just 1 agency night nurse who hurt me dreadfully, everyone else were fantastic and I cannot fault them, shame that there has to be one, but in my opinion she should not have been on a ward at night if she could not help the patients, I think it comes down to money each time, anyway that is another story.

Tracey, Diane G hit the nail on the head with her comments this morning, have the tissues handy but more importantly know that you are one special lady and you will have a wonderful welcome back, enjoy but rest when you get home, your emotions will be up and down like a yo-yo. hugs xx

Sharon, well done on progress.

I haven't read all the comments either! God Bless Pam! She is a Star! Thanks again!
PP - you are just above me , so I saw yours! So very sorry you are still struggling! I hope you feel a lot better very soon! X
Tracy - all the very very best for tomorrow! I'm sure you will be tired but I hope too that you enjoy seeing lots of people who will have missed you very much! Look forward to hearing how you get on! X
Norah - hope you have a great day at the Show! You will be tired but I'm sure you will feel it has been worth it! X
Sorry I forgot to let you know Sue! X
Love to all, Myra xx

Hello Sue, I have been lurking around your site and I am amazed at how you can take a few pieces of metal, some glitter, glue and ink and turn them into a work of art!! I love your site and the inspiration you give to me and others less talented. I would have never thought to use the oval dies as you did. A lovely card as all you do seem to be. Thank you for all you do.
Wishing you a beautiful day, Marietta

Good afternoon lovely Sue and her crafty crew!

Many thanks for treating us to another double day, you put so much effort in on our behalf and i just want you to know how much it is appreciated...sometimes I don't know where i would be without your blog and superb ideas, my mojo disappeared years ago, never to be seen again and i rely upon you more than i probably should. Your Noble dies are fantastic staples that have many strings to their bows as highlighted by these two fabulous examples of your genius. It's difficult, as always, to choose a favourite since they both have features that sing to me. Number one is lovely, the way you have arranged the ovals is just so cool and one to try for the future, and seeing the return of the peonies was a treat since they must be, along with the pierced flags, my most used die. Number two's colouring is so rich and striking, i love black and gold. I'm not surprised that you're loving the Jacobean EF, it's stunning and provides an eye catching backdrop to any card. Interesting how you have embossed the card with the die still in place, i'd really like a demo of this technique if possible at some point. Stunning results with both cards my dear, you never fail to impress.
I've had a really ropey week, been super busy but had to contend with a savage migraine which made even the simplest of tasks a strain:-( Thankfully, it has shown signs of easing and i feel almost human again, but i have felt terribly guilty at missing the blog and telling Sue just how fabulous she is. As a consequence, my recollection of everyone's news is sketchy at best and if it wasn't for our wonderful Pam i would be lost without a paddle:-)
I went to bed early last night, at 11pm....or 10 if you take the clocks changing into account....because Darcey was refusing to go out for her nightly constitutional. It has been a problem these past days, i wonder if she is upset about something or frightened but short of throwing her out i have little option but to hope that her bladder will hold through the night and take her to bed. Last night she woke me at 1am then an hour and a half later to get back in so i was grateful for that extra hour in bed this morning....what to do with her tonight though?:-(
Tracy, good luck tomorrow, hope you're not too nervous. Remember to pace yourself to begin with, it will be great to see so many welcoming faces amongst staff and customers though, enjoy.
Yvonne, missing you honey, good luck with the GP appointment this week, hope it helps and you feel better soon. Hugs
June, hope you and your bionic knee are faring well and that your sleeping has improvedxxx
Elaine, hope you're feeling better soon too.
Huge hugs to all who are suffering or are carers.
Cuddles to my besties, Pam,P, Pat, Wheely,Maria,Deb C, Myra, Maureen, Theresa, Lynda and all the rest of the girlsxxx

Hi Sue,
You really had me guessing with the first card, I just didn't recognise the dies. What a fabulous effect you achieved by positioning the dies off centre - love it.

Hi Sue, both of these cards are beautiful and the techniques you have used are inspiring. The first one is my favourite, probably because of the colours as well as the style.

Congratulations to this week's comment game winners, enjoy your prizes.

Tracy - wishing you good luck tomorrow, I hope your bosses allow you to ease back in gently. When you get home you should put your feet up and have a cup of tea (or a glass of something stronger lol) and get plenty of rest.

Hi Sue. WOW !!! A two-fer day !!! With your beautiful Noble Oval and Circle dies. Fantastic !!! I love both of these beautiful cards. I don't think I could choose a favourite as I like parts of the first card and also parts of the second card. The Oval card is interesting, showing a different design that can be achieved with the Oval Dies. I really like this design. I am sure you could probably use the same design technique for the Circle Dies to. I love the idea of the embossed Circle frames but I am just not to sure about the black !!! I think a circle style die set would look lovely in the centre of the Noble circles like maybe your Madeline dies or the centre of some of your Australian dies or even your perspectives circle Birthday or Thank you dies maybe. As always I am loving all your flower dies Sue. Just gorgeous !!! Great background EF to. I love it !!
I had a slight accident today. I tripped up the steps of my patio in the back garden !!! I thought at first I had broken my big toe, but I can just about still wiggle it !!! I can hardly walk on it though and have been in a lot of pain with it all day so I won't be able to take my poor doggies out for a few days. Hubby will just have to do it !!! Never mind as I will just have to take it easy and craft instead !!! Thank you for sharing your beautiful cards today. They are both gorgeous. Sending lots of love to you Sue from Tres x x x

Sending lots of love to everyone today from Tres x x x

Wow, both cards are absolutely stunning Sue. Any chance you can show us a tutorial on how you make the flower in the first one please? I have tried to no success. Do you glitter after, or do you cut out of card that you use double-sided adhesive that you have glittered with?

Any help or video would be fantastic please.

Many thanks.
