Baby Safari Card

Hi bloggers!  This is probably one of my favourite ever Baby themed cards, but the video does show you a different sort of way to use the Stuffed Animals dies and the Stitched Doodle Flowers finish it off so nicely!

The finished dimensions are 7" x  8 1/2" in size.  All for now, Sue x

Thank you for all the welcome home comments, the holiday was brill, just what I needed but it is good to be back with the family.
I can't believe how cold it has turned here, was lovely in Biurnemouth.
Elaine, poor Andrew, I hope he starts to feel better soon, it is a long course of treatment. Sending him a comforting hug.
Tina, how did Peter get on, I hope all went well.
PP how is your finger, enjoy your visit with your parents, you will have missed them a lot.
Tina and Mick, hope you are both doing okay.
Tracey, get an extra ice cream tub for me, I love ice cream.
To all the poorly ladies, big hugs, agree with Lynda, hope Molly and family are together again and all going well, miss them.

Hi Sue and crafters all,
What a beautiful card today Sue, I have most of the baby dies except the Onsie.
Love the soft colours you have used, I am doing something similar for my great nieces christening that is in a couple of weeks.
Peter saw the GP yesterday and he was pleased he was now being sorted. (He even rang me yesterday morning to see if he needed a Home visit, how is that for dedication), also had blood tests and we both had our Flu vacs. District nurse today to change the dressing on his Nephrectomy tube.
Pam so pleased you enjoyed your holiday, but it's so nice to come home, love to you and your family.
June Smith, hope you are not nervous about your operation.
Love and crafty hugs to all,
Tina T xxxx

Morning Sue. It's my turn for a happy dance today as it was the beauty and cuteness of this card on your launch week that made me order this straight away, it really has the ahhh factor Sue it's just so beautiful. These 'babies' look cute in stills and videos but in life you just want to smile as they come to life on a card. I've used them on Lottie's first birthday card as you know, and had an order for a little boys first birthday yesterday - I made his welcome to the world card last year when he was born ! They must have liked it lol so I'll be cutting little blue elephants today for his card. I have so many other idea's for these amazing little fellas that I can use for market, so it's a massive thank you from me for taking your idea from the thought process to the end process and I can't wait to watch your tutorial and look forward to the day you bring them to our tv screens.
Pam, we honeymooned in Bournemouth 37 years ago during the 1979 heatwave and got awful sunstroke lol... I'll leave it there lol but you get the just right ? Lol. Lovely to have you back xx
Well Sue, my hugs and happy smiles are coming your way and hope it's a good one for you xxx

Morning Sue and all Wilsonettes, oh how cute is this card, what a wonderful keepsake to treasure, I must admit I have not purchased the dies yet, I say yet because they are on my list.

Tina T yes getting nervous, 9 days to go. Good to hear that the doctor was pleased about Peter and how thoughtful of him to call during the morning to see if you wanted a home visit, as you say true dedication, we don't often hear of these things especially in the media, it is usually all the bad things. Peter now you behave when the District Nurse come along to change the dressing on your tube today, I bet you all have a cheeky laugh with her.

Elaine and Andrew, my thoughts and prayers go to you both, it is a long process and you will have good days and bad but you will get there, sending special hugs xx

Helen, glad to hear you are feeling better although still bruised.

Yvonne - Princess Pixie, how wonderful for you to have a royal visit from your Mum and Dad, your little princes' must be so excited. How is the finger today, I bet it hurt like hell when you did it, do you have red or blue blood!!, sorry could not resist that one, I do hope it is better though.

Maria hope your arm feels better soon x

Tracy good luck with the Drs. next week, and enjoy playing with the treat cups and microbeads, oh when I made some of the shaker cards I used little seed beads as well (you can buy these in the cheap 99p shops very easily), they will help the microbeads to go further.

Tina and Mick, hope you are both doing okay.

Better finish now my breakfast has just arrived.

Stay safe, healthy and happy, hugs, June Smith xxx

Hi Sue
Wow I love your baby collection I have this set and the onsie I have been cutting the onsie out and have made a little card by putting die inside top and will use them as announcement cards or baby shower invites.
Where has the last week gone didn't realise I've not been on for over a week, Mick's appetite not been good he has reluctantly agreed to have the peg fitted as it's a stay in hospital which he doesn't want as he is afraid once they get him in they won't let him out but they are only keeping him the minimum he needs so just waiting for the phone call as to when this will happen, he's been doing some physio so once he gets more calories he can do some more
I have not caught up with all the comments yet but I send congratulations to the card winner and comment game winners, glad you enjoyed your holiday Pam, Tina hope all goes well for hubby, sending hugs to Andrew and hope he feels better soon, and to everyone I've not mentioned I send huge hugs and thanks I'm hoping to play catch up with all the comments to see what I've missed
Happy crafting
Love and huge hugs to everyone

Maureen thanks for asking after Sarah, a very happy wee girl as always. They have to go back to GOSH at the end of October to see a team from Neurophysiology to try to find out why she lost all nerve response to her legs while lying on the operating table and a follow up appointment with the spinal team. She got a new wheelchair yesterday, OT asked what colour she would like at their appointment 2 months ago and she asked for pink or purple, so they sent a white one!!
Hugs and best wishes everyone

Hello Sue,
What a beautiful card today. Those dies are amazingly gorgeous.
Pat L, my jaw dropped when I read the last bit of your message. Things like the colour are so important for a child so how insensitive of them. If they couldn't get the colour she wanted they should have warned her. You'll have to "bling" it up for her with jewels and flowers in the colours she wanted. I hope they find some answers when she goes back to GOSH and they can do something.
Thinking of the ladies and their husbands who are not well.
Pam you will be back in the old routine.
Love to all

Hi Sue, this was one of my absolute favourite cards on launch. I do get asked for baby cards (they always seem to come in little rushes) but although there are none on the horizon I could not resist buying the stuffed animals, they are just so gorgeous. I don't have the noble circles or the flowers but I thought I would try something similar using one of your shadow boxes. They look really good cut out from CE felt as well as card and I am thinking of putting them on a bib or blanket. Thanks for the video.

Thanks for your comment June. I laughed at your comment to P Pixie, about the a Royal visit and blue blood. X

Thanks Tracy, feeling better thanks, just sore. I hope you get your cute die set soon x

Mary, that's kind of you to send dies to your daughter in Oz. Apologies, I added an 'e' to your name a few days ago. Sorry. X

June H, good luck for pain free stitch removal on Wednesday. X

Nattyboots, I hope Andrews treatment goes well. Sending you both hugs. X

Diane, yes wrap up well. It's cold up north. Maybe is because we have skirting boards off and radiators disconnected at the moment, but I've been nithered. X

Hello Sue,
What a gorgeous card! I love everything about it. These little animals are just soooo cute! If I received that card for a child of mine I'd frame it and hang it in their room! By the way - mine are a little old for that now! You know what I mean though!
Pat L - what a shame about the wheelchair! Why ask if you can't deliver??? Good idea from Maureen - she has them - only occasionally mind you - but credit where credit is due! :))
To all those waiting for or having treatment just now I send lots of love.
Love to all, Myra xxx
Ps. Laine - hope you are alright! x

This card is why I bought the stuffed animals as I think it is fantastic, thankfully I can use them in my scrapbook pages. Will have to adapt for the rest of the card. Definitely going to cut them in felt too.
Feeling very out of sorts, not sure if it is the depression worsening again. Will have to try and get a good sleep pattern again to see if that helps.
Glad to hear the GP is pleased with Peter and it was good of him to check if he wanted a home visit.
Sorry Mick has to go into hospital, hopefully it will benefit him.
Hugs for Andrew as he goes through his treatment.
Tracy, I hope all goes well with your back to work plans.
PP, sorry to hear of your run in with your browser, and the demise of your striplet. Sorry also that you got injured, hope it's not too sore. At least the machine still works as a striplet is much cheaper to replace.
Helen, gentle healing hugs for you.
June H, I hope the stitches come out so you are more comfortable.
Sorry if I have forgotten anything important.
Sending love n hugs to you all xxx

Great video too!

Unknown said...

Good afternoon lovely sue and her crafty crew!

This was one of my most favourite cards from the blog launch and despite the fact that I have never been required to make a baby or young child's card I so want to add these fabulous dies to my collection:-) Who wouldn't be seduced by the overwhelming cuteness of this card, it is so persuasive.....I have told myself that it can be used in scrapbooking, and it would work marvellously if only I could motivate myself to get out my albums again! Nevermind, I will buy the entire new baby sets as well as the doodle flowers just for the sheer joy of recreating cards like this, you never know, I may come across a pregnant woman or expectant grandma in desperate need for a new birth card:-)
I love how you have used the noble circles to create cute little apertures for the animals to peek through....this isn't your usual sophisticated style, it's a refreshing change from the norm and I can't tell you how much I love it....it looked even better in real life on display at Ally Pally, an absolute triumph Sue!
Apologies for my rude absence these past couple of days but I've been sadly indisposed by this persistent sinus infection, it just doesn't want to budge but I'm loathe to go to my GP for something so minor....I was going to go to my local chemist yesterday on my way for a sunbed....to cheer myself up...but when I tried to drive the scooter it felt funny down one side. Apparently the tire needed pumped and my mum wouldn't let me use it:-( We don't not have a pump so we are relying on the kindness of our neighbour to sort it out but because his pump is at his mums house who knows when that will happen:-(
Well, plans changed yesterday, I decided to catch up on the shows that I missed at the weekend. I was cheered to discover that our great leader will be doing the shows this weekend too, i had thought it would be John who is good in his own right, but he's not Sue. So that is definitely something to look forward to:-)
Much appears to be happening on the blog of late that has passed me by but things are as they should be, all is right with the world when Pam is back from her break in her usual slot keeping us all up to date with proceedings.
Yvonne, I don't know whether to laugh or commiserate with you over the sad loss of your poinsettia Striplet, whilst breaking a die is no laughing matter the manner in which you did it is just so you. I'm so glad you didn't break your ebosser in the process though, that would be a costly error more difficult to remedy. I'm strangely comforted to hear that you bled after cutting yourself...because I thought it was ice running through your veins not blue blood as June has assumed:-) You must be so excited to have your parents visit, has Jake moved those panels from Georges bedroom though for the occasion? Speak to you later honeyxxxx
Helen, you too have been in the wars of late, you are clearly a touch accident prone and should be kept away from all sharp objects purely for your own safety:-) Hope you are sufficiently recovered from your ordealsxxxx
Tina, sorry to hear Mick has to head back to hospital for a peg, what exactly is a peg, what does it involve? Hope it's a brief stay for both your sakes.
Elaine, Andrews treatment takes such a long time the poor soul, but hopefully the time will fly for him and he will be well on the road to recovery.
Tina, wishing you and Peter well with all his appointments.
Maria, hope your health picks up honey, you've had a tough time of it lately. Are you going with the girls to meet up in Carlilse?
Maureen and Myra, can you two be trusted to behave with proprietary and decorum though I ask myself;-) What I would give to be a fly on that particular wall!
P, how are your babies recovering from their ops?
Massive hugs to all my besties, Deb c, pat, Theresa, Frances, Norah, Tracy, Beth, Rebecca,June, and anyone else I may have forgottenxxx

Hello Sue
This card is just so adorable and I am so sad that there won't be any more little ones in the family so I can create a lovely card like this!
The colours you have used are just perfect for your gorgeous dies!
Sorry to hear you have been under the weather, Lorraine, if the problem lasts too much longer maybe you should see your Doctor.
I hope also that your dear friend, Princess P has recovered from her ordeal!

Such a lovely card for a new baby. I can hardly wait for my stuffed animals die set to arrive. Just had to have these cute dies though I'm unlikely to need them any time soon.
Take care everyone.

This is a fab card, so perfect for a new born or early birthday. The colours can be changed to make it a bit bolder for pre school birthdays too. One of the best from you again Sue.

Good morning Sue and the Wilsonettes,
I just love this cute baby card Sue and it could be made ahead of time as it wouldn't matter which sex it is for as it would work equally well for both. The keyboard on the main computer has decided it is not going to print "n" nor the space bar so I am using the iPad today so that I could see what is happening. Yesterday I wee to Stirling with Kirsten and Harry to meet up with my friend Di and it just turned into a long slow painful day so the computer was out either way so sorry I wasn't in yesterday. I don't have these yet but they are on the need list to get when I'm flush again. So enjoyed your shows on hochanda the other day because as always they were full of inspiration and tips, so thank you Sue for a lovely piece of inspiration.
Sending hugs to all the Wilsonettes that need, could do with or just want them,
Love and crafty hugs

I must say this is one of the best ever baby cards I have seen, I don't have any little ones to make for but I bought the set anyway, I love them
going onto one of your other sets, have you considered making the tiny die sets for the shadow box available separately so we do not need to buy the whole set every time, just a thought, hope you don't mind.
