Double Petite Striplets

Good Sunday morning all!  I have another double day for you.  I have chosen two cards that both use mini striplets, but they are different dies.  The first card was started by cutting the decorative die from the Atlas Petite Striplet into a piece of coconut white card three times.  I added a piece of a deep aubergine card from my stash behind it then covered the entire piece with a sticky adhesive sheet.  I coated the entire piece with Iced Snow, which softened the colour a bit but gave it a shimmery coating.  I cut the Gillian die in white and backed it with the same colour from the background.  I mounted it in the centre of the card on foam.  I stamped my sentiment and cut it out with the Pierced Flags, using the next size up in the set to add a matching mat.  I seated it across the centre of the card and added a messy bow tied out of white seam binding to the end.  I cut the Exquisite Poppy die out of vellum and edged it with matching ink and added it to the centre of the bow as an accent.  I completed the card with a white pierced mat, a mat cut from the matching background colour and a final white mat. The finished dimensions are 6 1/4"  x  6 1/4" in size.  Scroll down for card number two

This card is one of those that is great for using up your old scraps!  I selected a bunch of thin strips of shades of aubergine again.  I taped them on to a piece of  copy paper   I stamped my sentiment in the lower corner using a Clear Perfect Medium pad and then heat embossed it with white embossing powder. I used the inside decorative piece from the Jubilee Petite Striplet this time and cut it through the left side of the card.  I added mounting foam to the back and raised it over a piece of white card to show through the die cut area.  I cut a thin white frame using the outside die from the set and added it around the cut area.  On another piece of white card which I cut slightly larger, I added sticky adhesive paper strips around the edge.  I peeled the backing off and coated it with white micro beads.  I completed the card with a white, aubergine, white mat as I did in the first card.  The finished dimensions are 7 3/4" x  8" in size.

We are still at Ally Pally today if you get a chance, please stop by and say hi!  I will be doing a live hour on Hochanda today at 2pm.  There is a studio audience section so you can watch the filming live if you like as well!  I would love to see your support there.  All for now, Sue x

Morning Sue and all Wilsonettes, two beautiful cards today, oh I so look forward to double days, they are both stunning in their own right, got to try some of these designs out.

I had the most brilliant time yesterday at Ally Pally, got their early and was the first one through the door, I managed to get everything (but 1)on my list even before the 10:00am doors were open - disabled people go in first at 9:30 and believe me this was so helpful because we could get to see so much. I had a lovely hug with Sue and a chat - thank you Sue for your advise and generosity. I did a make and take on the CE stand decorating a little MDF Christmas tree with gilding wax, and stamps, all ready to hand on the Christmas Tree.

If anyone is going today I know you will have a great time, it was busy but not like the NEC where you cannot even get down the aisles let alone see any demos or browse the goodies.

Had a picture taken with Sue, Hellen Bell and another lady (so sorry I forgot your name, please forgive me), I will send it to Sue today so you can all see.

Princess Pixie and Laine, I asked about the red carpet and they said that the only one they had was a magic one, it can only be seen by those who truly believe in Santa..hope you can spot it. Have a fantastic time.

I have not had a chance yet to read all of yesterdays blog comments I will do that later, however, I see from Pam that there is nothing dramatic that I have missed so I will wish everyone well with special hugs.

Stay safe, healthy and happy, hugs, June Smith xxx

Sunday Smiles coming your way Sue. WOW, I bet the first sample today is sooo sparkly with all that gorgeous iced snow, my go to when I need beauty and no mix of colours, it's beautiful Sue. Your 2nd treat would make a perfect base for the male who needs a card. I think I read a comment last week about keeping your fav stash cards as swatches to persuade 'those in high places' to meet and talk about getting them in the Foundation family, what a great idea as you have shown us some beautiful coloured cardstock that you have bits n Bob's of, and we've oooh'd & ahhh'd at them, so that was a really good suggestion whoever wrote that comment 😊
The sentiment on the 2nd card is on its way back to you. I'm sure you had the most marvellous day yesterday Sue, and I bet your face ached with all the smiling you did. I'm all set up to record and watch your show today and really looking forward to it, hope we get to see at least one completed demo without too many interruptions ! Hope you have a really hard question ready for the giveaway, that will separate the boys from the men so to speak lol.
I'm quite proud of myself it has to be said. I made a pact with myself to start and collect the Noble Collections as it was this past launch that made me stop and think that they are the 2nd most important part of my cards. Your samples over launch showed a lot of these dies, whether they had frames or apatures they just seem to add so much to your work. So as the owner of my little craft shop opened up again after a two very long weeks holiday, I decided to pop in and welcome her home, by the time we'd talked about your new collection the pierced rectangle nobles were getting restless and swinging off the display trying to get my attention (oh how attention seekers annoy me) lol in the end the only way to shut them up was to release them from their hook at get them to the till before they created more havoc ! What I hadn't seen them do was make a pact with the Holly Octaganol frame right next to them, do you think the Nobles would let go, not on your life !!! I had the bride and groom from your previous launch barracading the door so I couldn't get out, what could I do ?
I'll let you decide what you think the outcome was, but until then I have my usual hugs for you, and I really hope you have the most enjoyable day again selling lots of your new collections, your poor hands must be aching terribly after 2 long days of demo's etc, you should put a hand hot wax bath on your wish list Sue, I can't begin to describe how they help with uncomfortable hand/finger joints.
So have a lovely day at AP and I'll be watching at 2pm xxx

Hi Sue and everyone

What lovely cards, so different yet so lovely in their own way.

Glad that everyone who went to Ally Pally enjoyed their day and hopefully bought lots of bargains.

I went yesterday and I met June and I think Lisbeth, please forgive me if I have got your name wrong. I'm rubbish with names, unlike Sue who seems to remember everyone with ease. As June said we were lucky enough to have our photo taken with Sue, though I'm sure I'll look rough as I didn't have much sleep and was up early for journey. Sorry I didn't get to meet any other Wilsonettes, though I did chat to quite a few people. June, sorry I do get nervous meeting new people, I think I shook your hand which was probably a bit weird. Sorry. I'm glad you enjoyed your day.

Sue was in her element, chatting, demonstrating and giving help and answering questions with great humour. One lady standing next to me at Sue's stand had a basket overflowing with purchases and every time Sue used a product she would add it to the basket. She was obviously a huge fan and loved what Sue was doing.

I went to watch John Lockwood both in the demo area and for the live Hochanda recording. He is such a natural in front of the camera and so talented. I thought I had tucked myself away at the back, only I didn't realise that he and the presenter would make an entrance from the back and then stop and speak to the lady in front of me. I'd already been asked if I want to speak on air and said ooh no! This was almost as bad. I've just looked at the recording and there I am looking nervous and awkward. It was good to see how it all works though.

Sorry I didn't comment yesterday, but had to leave early and was so shattered when I got home. Train journey not too bad, though the train from Ally Pally station to Finsbury Park was cancelled, and the next one. So I was advised to take a different train to Palmers Green then catch one to Finsbury Park from there. I did this only for the train to stop at Alexandra Palace anyway. So a waste of time. I could have stayed where I was. Oh well the next two trains were fine. I managed to get a seat from Kings Cross too so I could look at what I'd bought.

I hope everyone who goes to AP today has a great time and finds some bargains. I hope Yvonne and Laine are in full swing and not causing to much trouble. I am going to watch Sue's show and see if I can see them. I hope Sue has a great day too.

Love (old) Helen xxx

Hi sue

Both cards are beautiful can't choose between them. I'm also loving catching up on your video's. I like to leave it a while and watch a few together on the big TV so I can see the detail better. I enjoy that more than the shopping channel. I don't always have all the dies but I have a big collection of your dies so I can replace the odd one with a similar die and tweek the design a bit. Thank you
All the best Pauline (freedom99)

Two very different but both fantastic cards today, thanks Sue.
Well I visited the blog yesterday and wrote a post but don't seem to have posted it so that's annoying.
Anyway today is tidy up and packing day, I don't know if I will be able to get any WiFi whilst away so may be missed until next Sunday but I will pop in tomorrow morning.
Hubby and Chris have arrived safely in France but don't have any signal so Chris's poor girlfriend has been worried sick. Thankfully I managed to get in touch with the owner by email and she has confirmed they are fine.
Good to hear so many of you enjoyed AP yesterday and got to meet Sue. Hope the same goes for today's attendees. I am sure Laine and Her Majesty will be very well behaved.
Sending love n hugs to you all xxx

Hello again Sue!
I love both of your cards today and I think the second one which can be made from odd pieces of card is a great idea.
It was so lovely to meet you today and to actually see you and your wonderful cards in real life!
Whilst watching your demo, as you know, I met Yvonne aka Princess Pixie and Laine. I promised I would let everyone know that in real life they are really quite normal and lovely ladies who did not cause you any trouble! I will send you the picture I took of you all tomorrow and hope you can put it on the Blog.
I really enjoyed my time at the show and still can't believe that it was only a few days ago I discovered a local coach company, just a mile away were coming to the show today! Hopefully, they will be coming again in April!
Sadly, I missed your show as I got talking to someone I know and then had to go and find my coach but I have recorded it and will now watch it tomorrow.
With my very Best Wishes
