Wednesday Weekly Card Giveaway

Hello crafters!  A pretty blush and milk card for the giveaway this week.  I started by selecting a piece of milk card and cutting the two largest decorative dies in the Alexandra die set.  I used the inside cutting edge to cut an aperture so that I could recess the pattern downward.  The next layer was cut from blush card adding a bit of detail to the next layer.  I went back to milk card and cut the centre design out and layer all three pieces together.  I wrapped a piece of satin edged cream organza ribbon around the bottom of the card, then added a double bow to the centre.  Using the Petite Peony cluster, I cut three of them out of milk card and added the matching flowers behind it cut out of blush card.  I attached two of them to the sides of the focal element, and added the last one as an accent to the bow.  I stamped a sentiment and tucked it under the flowers on the bow.  Finally I completed the card with some flatback cream pearls and my usual matting and layering with milk and blush card.  The finished dimensions are 7 1/2" x  8 1/4" in size.  Please leave me a comment to be entered into the drawing to win this card.  The winner will be announced on Saturday's bog post.  All for now, Sue x

Gorgeous card, Sue, speaks 'wedding' to me - and maybe all in cream. Fab design and the ribbon, peonies and tag really are perfection.
Thinking that H will be such a disappointment over this weekend for all of us only on freeview, how could they have let this happen that they have to be off for over 2 weeks? Would have thought it was commercial madness but hey ho.
Bejay - gotta be soon! Such anticipation.
Yvonne G - OMG poor you such a frustration after your great holiday but what a fab neighbour you have.
Laine, fluffycat - well, yes and no. Rural. Alison, thanks, Pushy losing weight as expected but still very happy for the moment(or apparently so) - we both have clingy cats! Glad Scamp is recovering. Personally, looking for a miracle.

Morning Sue. Every card is beautiful in their own way, from the 'out of the box' experimental Sue cards, to the clean and simple, and every so often we open Particraft and take a Sharpe intake of breath, once the power of speech returns the only word we splurt out is - WOW ! This is one of those Sue. This is a card that a very special couple deserve on their special day, an engagement and 1st anniversary is a special time but this is one for a plain (ish) box for a wedding day for two extra special people. Not only is it the prettiest card, the delicate colours you have used remind me of the creamiest Cornish ice-cream with a hint of fresh strawberry juice and a squidge of fresh cream - mmmm lush.
I'm sure if it we're a bridal bouquet and we were all waiting for it to be thrown there would be a mountain of your Wilsonettes leaving what delicate femininity they posess behind and fighting for the first to catch it lol a bit of a weird scenario I know, but I do tend to get carried away and I can hear in stereo "wish you were" !! 😛
Whatever your plans for the day Sue, hope you have a nice one xx

Evening Sue
I am loving the blush. Just so delicate. And a nice big bow - love a big bow. You are a master at creating the breath-taking and this card is so heartstoppingly beautiful.
The Alexandra die is becoming one of my favourites as you have showed it's versatility perfectly. Having said that all of your dies are my favourites and with the imminent launch of your new collection it will be a case of adding them al to the want list as well I'm sure.
Ok so after my Asda fiasco I was starting to calm down and Tesco did me proud yesterday so life was starting to return to some sort of normal (although life is never your average normal in this house)!
Anyway, I spoke to my arch rival, Laine last night and she informed me about Hochanda's plans of not being on Freeview for the foreseeable. To say I am mortified is an understatement. I was completely unaware having been away from the blog whilst on holiday and will confess that I am finding the prospect of catching up on all the comments I missed a rather daunting task. With brain fog and fatigue reading and concentrating is a task that I have trouble mastering most days.
I cannot believe that their plans to deprive those of us with freeview of our favourite channel coincide with the highlight of the year. Does anyone have an inkling as to why this is happening. I will be glued to my laptop and have to make do but am not happy about the situation. Watching online is never the same as the 'real thing'.
Between Hochanda and Asda my frustration levels are higher than they have been in a very long time.
LAINE - where are you hun? Hope you are ok. I know we spoke for an hour last night so hope the scintillating conversation did not tire you too much x
I had hoped to comment earlier but time ran away with me today and I am feeling tired so coffee and bed.
Happy thoughts and lots of love to everyone
Crafty hugs

Hi Sue & lovely Wilsonettes***oh boy am I late in commenting tonight Sue, my sincere apologies, but apart from doing the necessary today, basic housework, washing, cooking & taking care of pet needs I have been in my craft room & making cards for the first time since before Christmas 2015. I kept waking up in the night with visions of what to make, so I drew rough sketches & set about putting them into practice...I must admit that although it is very tiring for me to concentrate today, because of the long day yesterday, I have thoroughly enjoyed this me time in my craft room, got some finishing up to do but overall I’m pretty pleased with the results.

I must admit Sue I would never have thought of putting Blush & Milk together but they work together extremely well, I have combined Milk & Mocha today & the results of these together are simply amazing, I rarely use anything other than the Foundation card now as it is a fabulous product to work with.

Anyways Sue back to your magnificent card, I have the Alexandra die but didn’t realise that it has the pierced pinpoints on the edges, or is this something you have so cleverly done yourself, I think the latter is probably the answer as it is fitting to your many wonderful talent & brilliant ideas. The Peony cluster in Milk & Blush certainly ties the whole design together to the Alexandra die.

As always Sue, my heart is full of gratitude for sharing yet another of your amazing & remarkable creations, a sincere thank you from one very tired lady. So this is where I must close for now & I wish yourself, your family & your wonderful blog family a peaceful & restful night. Take care & love ‘n’ (((HUGS))) to you all. Beth B x x x x x

Good evening lovely Sue and her crafty crew!

A rather late, and brief visit from me today I'm afraid- didn't get much sleep last night and woke with a bad migraine:-( So I've spent much of the day hibernating till my medication takes control of the situation.
Feel a little better now so I thought I'd let Sue know how gorgeous her creation is and how lucky we all are to have the opportunity to adopt it. Love the ice cream colour palette and huge satin bow accented by the peony cluster, a delicious work of art:-)
Yvonne, I'm cooking with gas honey and feel your pain over the Freeview situation. I got a letter this morning from Hochanda informing me of the situation and I have heard that they were only contracted to have a specific amount of hours aired on Freeview and that is why there is a temporary change to the scheduling. However, the good news is that normal services will be resumed on the 16th of May but that is of little consolation I know, to my fellow Wilsonettes on Friday and Saturday:-( Hopefully the internet streaming will run smoothly for you all, fingers crossed.....
I have also heard that Sues newest release will be made public tomorrow :-) I hope this isn't a wind up because I don't know if my fragile disposition and nerves can stand the disappointment, I'll be keeping my eyes peeled for that one!
Two more sleeps till our Suefest, I can hardly contain myself.....industrial strength Tena Lady is waiting in the wings as we speak:-)
All my usual bear hugs to my blog buddies and their furry four paws, hope you are all wellxxxx
Sorry for being so brief, though some may just prefer it that way:-)

Crafty hugs

Beautiful card! Love the color combination-so delicate. I have just completed a new holder for special cards (used embroidery hoop, linen and lace) and this would just make the holder!

Take care everyone.

Very pretty card. Sorry I didn't get in yesterday to comment. Out all day and then too tired to do anything. Age creeping up on me. Thanks Sue for sharing this lovely card.

Hi Sue, I've been away from the blog for a couple of months with the pressures and tiredness of starting a new job. What a card to come back to though - I feel thoroughly at home seeing your gorgeous creation! :) Am looking forward to stopping by at your stand at Ally Pally too. Good thing the new job came with a pay rise!
