Wednesday Weekly Card Giveaway

Hello there my crafty friends!  I have selected a very clean and simple card for today's card giveaway.  I am hoping that it is interesting to enough people as it is not my usual sort of card, but I just loved the way it came out!  I started with a piece of coconut white card and used just the Bold Thank You die without the outer cutting edge.  I cut it three times equally spaced down the card, leaving a wider area at the bottom.  I cut three of just the smaller outer cutting die in white and inked them with three shades of Colour Cloud Inks.   If memory serves me they were: Clear Day, Turquoise Pool and Ocean Blue.  Each colour is in the same colour family but deeper shades of it.  I arranged the inked pieces onto another piece of coconut white card with the lightest shade at the top and thee darkest shade at the bottom.  They lined up with each of the cut out thank you areas so that each one showed through from the back.  I put mounting foam to raise the front piece for depth and attached them.  At the bottom of the card, I cut the thank you again in white, backed it with black and made a black frame using the two outer cutting dies to give it a boldness at the bottom of the card.  I completed the card by paper piercing a white layer, adding a thin black mat for balance and a final white mat layer.  The finished dimensions are 7" x  7 1/2" in size.  Please leave me a comment to be included in the drawing for this one.  All for now, Sue x

Hi Sue. It may not be your usual design of card but it's fresh and clean looking. Personally I love it. If I have a good Easter Sunday market it's on my very long list along with the 'Happy Birthday' circles and the other dies in that particular collection. Although my list is about to get even longer ! Still not caught up with your very first collection of dies and stands a chance I never will !
Have a good day xxx

Morning, Sue,
What an unusual card today. I love the crisp, clean lines and it certainly gets the message across :). Love the colours as well :)

Ladies, thanks for the birthday wishes, so far, apart from you brightening up my morning, the birthday is turning out to be pretty mediocre :(. My sister has either forgotten to send a card, posted it too late or just used 2nd class. My brother never even bothered to find out where I live now following the council throwing me out of the home I shared with my folks (after they died) so I wasn't expecting anything from him. The biggest disappointment...yes, you guessed it...the amaryllis has let me down! The outer 'shell' has opened up but the actual flower buds are still pretty tight. Perhaps it's waiting for Easter.
I'll keep you posted though. With all of us on tender hooks over it, the flower better be worth the wait lol.
Have a wonderful day, everyone.
Bejay xx

Tracy, glad things are going well.

Good evening lovely Sue and her crafty crew.

You always manage to create a belter for the giveaway and today is no exception:-) I'm not normally a clean and simple kind of gal but this little number may convert me. The star of the show is the die and the stunning ombré effect really enhances it's impact, I will really have to get some colour clouds and give this a go.
I've had a rather hectic day, the mecs system who fit you with personal alarms in case you fall or in my case have a seizure, came to review my alarms, then the plumber arrived to replace my shower....twice!...., then my friend Gill popped by for an afternoon of Cardmaking. It was all go and by the end of an enjoyable few hours I was shattered. Making a proper Sue card and trying to teach someone at the same time can be rather challenging, but we both ended up with a couple of almost but not quite Sue like cards at the end of it:-)
Brodie was persistently trying to get involved, tried to steal my finger lift tape and smoothie and generally tormented Gill....she hasn't succumbed to his obvious charms, in fact she detests cats, and spent half her time bellowing at him to get off her work:-) I made sure I didn't push his bum this time because he gets quite aroused and sprays ever so slightly.....something he actually did over her half completed Christmas card a few months ago much to my amusement and her disgust:-) He got fed up after a while and retreated to bed for a snooze so Gill could relax....
I spoke to Yvonne last night and she sends her love from a lovely little caravan on the Isle of Wight- she's having trouble getting broadband and is bereft without her daily dose of Sue and is hoping that she doesn't miss the new launch whilst she is away sunning herself on a secluded beach. She assures me that she WILL be back in time for Sues shows though I question her commitment:-)
Bejay, happy birthday! I'm sorry that your day wasn't all it should be, perhaps your sisters card has been delayed....the Royal Mail isn't very reliable after all! I hope your flower blooms in time for Easterxxxx
Hugs to my poorly friends Wheely bad and Lorraine, hope you both feel better soonxxx
Tracy, how often do you have your radiotherapy treatment, 18 seems a lot if it's only once a week....there's a big light at the end of the tunnel now thoughxxx
Beth, how is Lauren feeling? Is she still improving? I hope that you enjoy your break from work, maybe you can squeeze in some craftingxxx
Cuddles to absent friends Rebecca, Linda, deb c, Yvonne, Saba, and Melodyxxx
