Christmas Double Days

Hi bloggers!  Two similar sort of cards today, both with snowflake themes.  For the first card, I cut four of the Snowflake Border in coconut white card.  I covered a piece of white card with a sticky adhesive sheet, peeled the backing paper off and laid the borders down across the card.  They slightly overlapped in sections.  I coated the remaining exposed sticky area with Iced Snow for a frosty feel to the background.  I stamped my sentiment with a clear Perfect Medium pad and heat embossed it in silver.  I cut it out with the Pierced Flags die set and backed it with a sky blue mat.  I tied a double bow with the satin edged organza in a matching blue and added a Classic Poinsettia cut out of silver card.  The card was completed with a white pierced mat, a blue mat and another white mat.  The finished dimensions are 6 3/4" x  8 1/4" in size.  Scroll down for card number two.

Card number two also uses the Snowflake border die but in a different way.  I cut four of them in Sky Blue card.  I glued each one to a strip of silver pearl card.  I mitred each of the pieces so that I was able to form a frame with them, using the bottom edge of the die as the frame for my aperture.  I mounted it up on foam for dimension.  In the centre of the aperture, I cut the Snowflake die in white, sky blue and silver pearl card and layered up the pieces and glued it into the opening.  I finished the card with a white pierced mat, a thin silver pearl and a thin sky blue mat and finished with a final white mat.  The finished dimensions are
8 1/4" x  8 1/4" in size.  I hope you liked the blue and silver theme for either of my snowflake cards!  All for now, Sue x

Happy Friday Sue & WW!
I was looking at the first card and thinking how pretty it was and how it sort of looks like a Christmas present (could be because I'm looking at it on my tiny phone lol- but it's pretty no matter what). Before I finished processing that one, I caught site of the 2nd and WOW! That one really grabbed me (reached right out of my itty bitty screen!)! I really love it! Once again you amaze and dazzle Sue! What a clever use of the border die.
I am itching to comment on various posts from last couple days of the blog, but I am also in dire need of sleep. I think sleep is going to win this round, but I hope to come up swinging next round (well I suppose I'll be typing rather than swinging - but you get my gist). I'm sending hugs and good wishes to all. Thanks for the continued inspiration and kindness everyone! Rebecca in Colorado

I just love what you've been able to do with the border die in decorating the frame. I always forget to play around with the dies after I've cut them. I think I should make sure I've always got the scissors handy so that I can snip them up and experiment...after all, if it doesn't work all I've lost is a bit of card isn't it :)

Hi sue and crafty crew.
I just love ur cards today very inspiring just what I need to perk myself up and have most of the components to try my own version.
Thank u sue for all u do.

Well people today I got final results. The second biopsy was inconclusive but found cancer cells were present so now they are going to do a wire assisted removal of my breast lump with ultra sound. Plus remove the pesky lymph nodes that are affected then they will do tests on them to see if I need further surgery ie the mastectomy :-(. Hopefully it won't go that far!!
Sounds scary but I've to go to another hospital as this one doesn't do it. AnywYs meet with yet another consultant on wed so she will then take me under her wing and hopefully get a date for surgery the following week.
So as it stands my journey starts soon with surgery first. Then egg harvesting at Glasgow royal hospital. Back to my local hospital for chemotherapy then after that's finished back up to Glasgow to the beetson hospital for radio therapy. ( the radio therapy I didn't know I was getting. God I'm actually quite scared now. Plus my hair will fall out! As I've got very fine hair
On a plus note I will get a smashing new wig!! And a break from work even tho I will be crappy I will be positive and get through it !!!

Thanks for all the support and best wishes and prayers they go along way!!
Love to all xxx

Good evening Sue and the fab Wilsonettes,

It's rather late in the day for me to comment, had a long ,busy day. I just wanted to express my appreciation for the efforts you have put in to giving us so many ideas, you are a constant source of inspiration and my cards would be far inferior without your input.
Fridays are my favourite day because you are generous enough to give us a double helping. I am pleased to say that my first purchase this season was the Corner, border, tag set so I can easily rustle up a rather crude copy of your wonderful examples. I love both cards which will come as little surprise , however, given the choice I would prefer card no. 1 simply because I love the addition of the flag tag and poinsettias as well as the touch of bling in the background- I can also see me utilising my many shades of blue card this season too, especially with a touch of silver as an accent.
Had a day of guilty pleasures, spent too much on desserts and sweets in M&S again...inspired by Bake Off...before going to get my nails the VIP treatment. Decided to go a lovely shade of bright purple with a coating of diamond ice like mica powder, I know it sounds silly but it feels like a facelift for the hands so I left a happy bunny. Had to wait 25 mins for my taxi so popped into a little clothes boutique for a browse and ended up spending £160 on a dress for the Strictly show...knowing me it will be the first of many outfits, I once went to see George Michael and bought 8 dresses for the occasion! I could have had more costume changes than the whole cast of Strictly dancers:-) today's taxi must rank amongst my most expensive ever!
Tracey, your courage is admirable given the battle that lies ahead, you never appear to let anything faze you which I find both humbling and inspiring. You have met the challenge with gusto and I have little doubt that you will succeed. Losing your hair will be a hurdle that you meet with such bravery and a resolution to take the best out of any given situation. My friend wears wigs out of choice rather than necessity and you can get some really cool and very convincing styles. Myra says you are from Ayrshire , I was born and raised in Dundonald, just outside of Troon so I know where you get your gutsy spirit from. We're with you every step of the way honeyxxx
The same applies to you Melody and Molly, you are never far from my thoughtsxxx
Myra, my mum is from Yorkshire but has lived in Scotland for about 48 yrs, everyone in Scotland thinks she's English yet when she goes back home they think that she is Scottish- I don't think that she has ever lost her accent but she must have a strange hybrid version.
Yvonne, hope you are feeling better today sweetie, I don't like to hear that you are suffering...did you overdose on sugar whilst watching the Bake Off finale? I have recollections of your lack of self control around sugary based snacks ie Eton Mess and Vienettagate springs to mind:-) Miss you!
Time for Brodie and Darceys supper, nighty night girlsxxxx

Crafty hugs,

Laine1972xxx

Francis decided not to go for th fitness tests he really didn't feel up to it plus he kept saying if th liver test are not good then he would of done 9 hours of tests for nothing, the team did call to find out why he didn't turn up, an he just told them the truth he felt rough an didn't feel he would pass th tests plus he felt the appointments were out of place being everything is going to happen once the liver results are in, really surprised they called back an said the surgeon agreed this appointment should of nit been sent out till after the results, they think they will know Monday or Tuesday. Then Francis will hav to make his choice I just hope to god he don't ask me what he should do because I have tried to put myself in his place an I don't think I could make this choice for myself, do nothing an live for matter of months or do the operation an it 50/50 if he even make it through the op, an then if he does make it through it be 60/40% against he make it through the 1st 48 hours, it's all becoming so very real now. But anyway we have to wait on the liver test because if that's not clear he don't get to make a choice they won't be doing the operation. It's the waiting game again I can't stand it. Thank you once again for all your lovely kind wishes an support. XXX
Tracy do you see my hair in my photo that is my hair just grown back after my chemotherapy an radiation therapy had finished I looked like a boiled egg for a while I look so silly in the wig I just wore all sorts of hats, strange thing is my hair is sort of curly now but before the treatment it was really straight an so fine. I wish you all the best of luck in the world just keep being the positive person you seem to be. XXX

Good evening Sue and the Wilsonettes,
Oh my goodness Sue, both cards are so beautiful that I couldn't pick a favourite between them. I love the way you have made both using the same dies but to two different effects yet both spectacular in their own way. I love the colours that you have used as they are lovely and soft and gentle yet pack a punch for design Thank you Sue for bringing us such beauty to our eyes and making them so manageable in their construction. I love the fact that you are giving us a double dose of pure delight on a Friday and for sharing so much of your ideas with us
Sorry I am so late tonight but just haven't had time to draw a breath today or rather yesterday never mind anything else. Hubby has decided that now mums house is finished I can start getting stuck in to sorting out up the road here and start clearing out and cleaning out all that is not needed......ooooohhhhh, give me a break as we haven't. Stopped in more than a year now and I need some time to get myself back to as much fitness as I can muster but this is because he can't stand me sitting down for 5min peace without some one calling mum/Norah/gram etc.well this weekend I am not intending to do anything except empty the mind and relax the weerie joints and do some knitting, I know a shawl might not be everyone's idea of relaxing but it is a pattern that I can do with my eyes shut, lol.
Have a lovely night everyone
Love and crafty hugs to al but extra special ones to our friends that are so ill or nursing a loved one that is so ill

Hi Sue. Double day fridays seem to be coming around so quickly these days. Two beautiful cards. The blue, white and silver colour combo is lovely, clean and fresh looking. The snowflake border is stunning so delicate and the way you have used it on both cards but in different ways and they both look amazing but you cant beat a little bling on a christmas card lol.
Take care everyone.
Best Wishes.

Two gorgeous cards. If only I could make beautiful bows like the one you've made on the first card.
Yesterday's Flying Santa was such a fun card. I watched the video before I went to bed and then realized I'd forgotten to leave a comment.
Melody, sorry to hear that Francis is feeling so rough. You are all in my thoughts and prayers, as are Tracy and Txcowgirl's loved ones.
Take care everyone.
