Friends Forever

Hi there blog friends!  A simple beauty in pale green and white for today's offering.  Using the Bevelled Glass Striplet (which I must admit I do enjoy using! LOL), I cut it twice out of my pale green card.  I added mounting foam to the back to raise it up for a bit of dimension then matted over another piece of pale green card for a tone on tone look.  I added white flatback pearls to the background as accents.  I stamped my sentiment and cut it into a long strip with a flag end to it.  I added it across the lower portion of the card.  Using the Delicate Daisies complete petal, I cut several different sizes and curled the petals inward.  I added a touch of glue to the ends of each of the petals and sprinkled Iced Snow on them for a little bit of bling.  I layered up the different sizes of the daisies, offsetting them to create a chrysanthemum looking flower.  I seated it on a piece of white tulle and added a couple of pieces of Petite Vinery as accents around it.  I finished the card with my usual white pierced mat, a thin green mat and a final white mat.  The finished dimensions are 6 3/4" x  8 3/4" in size.

This week's winner of the Wednesday Card Giveaway is:

Holly Berry!!!

Congratulations!  Please email me at americansue1@gmail.com to confirm your address and claim your prize.  All for now, Sue x

Good morning Sue
What a stunningly beautiful card it's gorgeous. I too love using this die it's so versatile and can be used for male and female cards. I adore the way you've made a chrysanthamum shape flower out of your daisy die that's something I'm definitely going to be trying. The colours you've used are so pretty and with the exception of Teal, is my favourite colour.
Hugs to all that need one and Congratulations to Holly Berry.

Hi Sue and all Wilsonette friends. What an appropriate sentiment this morning as we have found an amazing friend in Sue, and we all have each other.
Such a Spring like card to welcome us on this awful foggy really frosty morning, I certainly wont be venturing out today (unless I want to pick up my fingers along the way) LOL, although how Id do that I dont know if you think about it ! After yesterday's frustrating, stressful day with said useless, stubby, numb little so n so's I could have happily cut them off, dam things wouldnt hold or feel anything so I was reduced to tears, bloomin idiot getting all uneccessary over something that must have looked quite funny (until I dropped my black archival ink pad on the carpet) to all new crafters - DONT craft in a room with cream carpet unless you cover the floor space where your working !!! Lesson learnt !
Im now blogging through square eyes as Im decorating box after box after box ready for market. And still have C cards and New Year cards to make ! I agree with our dear friend P in Wales who feels we have had a few hours stolen, which ever time bandit has stolen half our day, please return asap as its vitally required !
I do love the striplet die used on todays card, and Im finding it SO hard to list which of the older dies I need, let alone those you recently launched ! Can we hang fire on another new release until at least next Autumn so those of us financially struggling can catch up please LOL as we need them all and dont want to choose its too hard !
How sweet that Holly Berry was chosen for the Wednesday card giveaway, it bought a smile to my face, I think its perfect, enjoy your W. O. W (wonder of wilson) Holly.
Welcome home June aka Yorkielass, so lovely to have you home.
My basket of loving caring gentle warm hugs is full and ready for the taking if needed so help yourself.
Stay warm, safe, well (and saine) this Saturday.
Love you.

A really Beautiful Gift to start the week-end. Your colour palette is so gentle and just shows how gorgeous your die is and how it really does all the work to create such a masterpiece.

Contratulations to 'Holly Berry' winning your give away. And how appropriate for this time of year.

Myra P - I remember those skirts very well and I hated hockey but loved netball! When I look at some of today's 'fashion statements' skirts look more like belts than skirts. I never wore mini skirts but at least they were longer than some of today's offerings. Oh dear that's an age thing from me isn't it.
Norah - hope you're feeling a little brighter. Hugs are on their way.

Off to meet Mr E's niece and her two small ones aged 7 and 5. So am preparing myself for lots of high jinks from them as it's the last time I'll see them before the big day.

To all under the weather hoping you all feel better soon. To everyone please take care it's slippy out there this morning and stay safe. See you tomorrow.

Hi Sue

A lovely card. The bevelled glass striplet is probably my most used die, makes amazing mens cards and a lovely accent on decoupage/ kits.

Welcome home Yorkielass June! Steph, I swear wen I drop my inkpad. I have a multi colour area on the floorboards in the craft half a room. We will put a laminate type flooring in ons day but with a lino cover where I craft so that doesn't end up rainbow coloured too.

Sandra, that radio programme was called music and movement I think, I remember it very well. My favourite was the 'dingle dangle scarecrow'. How I remember that 33 years later I don't know! I despised those PE knickers and little skirts. I had them when I started high school. I was a chubby little thing and got picked on, by the PE teachers mostly so I "lost" them and turned up in knee length shorts. When I got told off I told them I was sick of being teased and I either wore these and did PE or I wouldn't do it at all. Didn't care if I got in trouble or detention. After 3 detentions they gave up telling me off as I wasn't going to budge and I wore trackies or shorts for PE til I left school. Nowadays most schools let girls wear trousers as part of uniform and for kids who are self conscious this is much nicer. Thanks for the memories, has cheered me up a lot- especially remembering music and movement.

Must go and shop online for gifts now. Had to resign myself to accepting I can only make cards for family and will have to buy some. At least a charity will benefit so it's not all bad.

Big hugs to everyone,

T x

Hi Sue. Oh WOW !! A Gorgeous card today, and in my favourite colour to !! I really love your beautiful Beveled Striplet Die and I use it loads, all the time. I love the green on green look. It is very fresh and spring like. I really love the flower you have made to. (Sorry but I can't spell it !!) It is gorgeous. I have the complete petal Daisy dies near to the top of my Christmas Wish list so fingers crossed.
I am sorry I did not comment yesterday but I was busy making Christmas cards in a bit of a panic. I tired myself out by completely over doing it and then felt really ill. I have to say though that I really love both the Christmas cards, especially the first one which I think is my favourite of the two. I have been making cards using your beautiful Angel dies and others with your beautiful Poinsettia dies. I am very pleased with the results. Thank you for designing such fab dies, making it so much easier to make beautiful Christmas cards.
Sending you lots of love today Sue from Tres x x x

Steph, sorry about you ink pad incident. Hope it all cleaned up ok. Sending you lots of love from Tres x x x

Hello Sue. Gosh it's late - been trying to finish off the decorations, but still yet more to do. Love this card and really adore the flower and leaves. I haven't even had time to finish of my cards so maybe tomorrow I'll have time for a play. Wishing you a happy Sunday xx Maggie (better without a bow)

Hi Sue, sorry I am so late but it has been a bit of a mad day and then I lost the internet connection for about an hour. A lovely fresh and spring-like card and the flower is gorgeous. I have the striplet and love using it and will give this card a go when I have finished with Christmas cards.

Congratulations Hollyberry on being the Wednesday Winner - most appropriate that you should win this week.

Hope everyone is having a good week-end and keeping warm and dry.

Hi Sue,
Gorgeous card. Love the beveled striplet die - really think it's a must have! The way you have made the chrysanthemum is very clever and effective. Congratulations to a Holly - what a great name for this time of year.
Yorkielass June great to see you back , missed you. Steph sorry to hear you had such an awful time. Hope you managed to get the ink off the carpet. If it's any consolation, I spilled a whole tub of white gesso on our green carpet in my craft room ( otherwise known as the spare bedroom) and after 10 attempts at cleaning there is still a white mark about two feet long on it! Perils if crafting I suppose! Sorry to all you ladies who were made to wear PE skirts - guess who was one of those horrible people who used to make you wear them? Yep that would be me!!! I was a PE teacher before going into SEN. Hope you all won't hold that against me! Anyway, sending love and hugs to everyone. Love Alison xxx
