Sunday 7 December 2014

Friend

Good Sunday morning!  Today's offering is a stained glass technique card.  It has been done using the longer, original method as I find it rather relaxing.   I cut the Austrian Background out of coconut white card and glued a piece of clear acetate to the back of it and rub it down with an anti-static pad.  I selected my glitter colours, using Vintage Violet, Lilac and Ice blue, all polished silk glitters.  Starting with the darkest colour areas first, apply the Cosmic Shimmer dries clear glue to those sections on the back of the acetate, sprinkle on the vintage violet glitter and tap off.  Work through all three colours this way and leave aside to dry overnight.  As the glue dries, the glitter colour will become visible.   Next I stamped my sentiment in black and sponged around it lightly with Shaded Lilac distress ink.  I cut a white on white frame using the Salzburg die set and mounted foam on the back.  I placed it over the sentiment and trimmed away the excess card.  I mounted it in the middle of my background.  I tied a messy bow out of Green Gem seam binding and added it to the corner of my frame.  Using several layers of white tulle taped to a piece of card (it won't cut unless it is put through with card), I cut the Delicate Daisy Complete petal to make a frilly flower for my bow.  I topped it with a pearl button.  I finished the card with a white on white mat layer with a pierced inner layer.  The finished dimensions are 7" x  9" in size.

Now for the Sunday Comment game winners.  This week's winners are:

Jan Moss!!!
June Ballenger!!!
Alimecca!!!

From the extra qualifying post of Wed. Dec 3rd, the winners are:
Jean Z!!!
Christine (Andy Pandy)!!!
Annette M!!!

Just a quick note to everyone, but I do see that we have reached our next blog candy goal, but the drawing will have to be delayed a bit until I'm back.  I will get it done and posted as soon as I'm able to do so.

Congratulations all!  Please email me at americansue1@gmail.com to confirm your address and claim your prize.  All for now, Sue x

Good morning Sue
I spent ages yesterday trying to cut out tulle flowers using dies I gave up in the end and cut them by hand, and all I needed to do was stick the tulle to card lol. Wish you had posted this card yesterday you'd have saved me from all the swearing lol. I love doing this glitter tecnique it looks so messy when your doing it but when it dries Wow! The sentiment is so nice I have a friend that it would be very appropriate for.
Congratulations to all the winners and you Sue for reaching 5200 blog followers although it's no surprise to me. With your busy schedule it's amazing you fit your blog in let alone do the prize draws.

Sunday Smiles to you Sue and all Wilsonettes. Congrats to all winners today enjoy your gift.
What a magnificent colourful card to brighten up this very dark and wet morning. Earlier in the year I treated myself - or should I say the people that bought from market treated me to 4 of the glitters as I had planned to do this technique but Ive never opened them ! But now I have the Scandinavian background in my life then I have no reason or excuse not to try it ! Its beautiful Sue.
CraftySuetoo - its barbiepinkfairy you need to thank for contacting Norah.
Myra - what can I say - bless you. Im very lucky, yes I have a few 'oopsies' to contend with but there are far worse than me chick. I live with them and work with them, I have good days and awful days but my motto is " Nothing will change with self pitty" will it all leave me if I moan about it ? No, so why moan lol... This is how I got into crafting - to divert my brain away from the pain and I know Im not alone when I say that am I ladies, which is why thiss sentiment goes to Sue and ALL OF YOU. Without Particraft and all the special friends Ive made through this blog I wouldnt be who I am today.
Sending warm comforting cuddles to those who need them today.
Love you.
Lancashire Steph xx

Many congratulations on reaching the 5200 mark. You so richly deserve this achievement and much more. I for one just wouldn't have reached my level of paper crafting without you. Your inspiration is unique and you never fail in that inspiration. So a BIG BIG THANK YOU. What a fantastic way to start the Christmas Season.

Now for today's gift. A beautiful stained glass window for the second Sunday in Advent. What more could we want. Beautiful colours.

My journey into MHall yesterday wasn't too bad and I managed to purchase a few presents so my mountain of stocking fillers is growing nicely.
Am going to have an easy day today -Sunday is my day off from crafting- Have nearly finished writing my C.cards so I will be ready for the coming week.
Congratulations to all the very lucky winners this week. I can just see one of them floating on a beautiful white cloud when she reads her name.

To all venturing out today please wrap up warn and try to stay dry. To all under the weather hoping you'll feel better soon. To everyone take care and stay safe.
See you tomorrow.

Beautiful colours love the card! Colours are my favourites and gentle on the eye!

Managed to embellish my jewellery gist boxes with poinsettias, holly and ivy with white tulle and purple dazzlers all on centura white they do look lovely. Did two first Christmas cards, more gingerbread pots just need to start special cards I do for those who have been bereaved during the year. Unfortunately I have a few of these this year. Tree is up. Other decks to go up later!

So for today Tennis lesson, then going to a craft fair just for a nosy to see what people are selling and charging! Taking Tillly to a Christmas party, cook a roast, ironing and hopefully some crafting this evening! Ladies, let me assure you I don't have loads of energy but just think I m at a time in life that is probably the most busiest - work, young child, widowed mum and husband who works long hours so a lot falls to me!

Congratulations to all winners what a great early Christmas present.

Cheryl take it easy and you will come out the other side.

Gail hope your husband is doing ok

Love to all who need it xxx

Today's card is gorgeous. I love the stained glass technique, the colours you have used really stand out and your bow with the tulle is so pretty. Yet another inspirational card to add to my ever increasing Pinterest board. Thank you for everything you share with us.

Congratulations to the lucky winners! Enjoy your prizes! LOVE this awesome card and I am going to try the stained glass technique as soon as I am able to get back into my craft room. I just had major surgery and am supposed to be down for 6-8 weeks. I know I won't be die cutting for a while because I have 3 3-4" incisions on my back and a 4" incision on my stomach and turning the handle on my machine would kill me right now! LOL
So glad that you reached 5200 followers! I have been sharing on FB frequently and many have thanked me for introducing you to them! I will keep my fingers crossed super duper tight in hopes that I see my name as the incredibly lucky winner of the amazing blog candy prize package!! What a treat it would be to add so many of your products to my craft stash!! It would put me on Cloud 9 for at least a year or more!
See you tomorrow for what I know will be another gorgeous card!! TFS!

Beautiful card with an equally beautiful sentiment. The stained glass technique always makes a special card 'pop'.
Congratulations to all the comment winners.Enjoy your prizes.
Managed to get to a friends' 60th Birthday party last night with the help of my youngest Daughter Fiona, and although we only stayed for a couple of hours, I was very delighted when she pointed out that she was wearing a silver and ruby brooch that mu late beloved Pete and I had bought her for her 40th! How lovely was that? As Pete couldn't be there in person, she felt he was with her in spirit. Some friends are just so kind.
Just as all of you who show your caring spirits whenever one of us Wilsonettes are in pain, suffering a loss, attending hospital or are unwell are. |You make our day with your comments. Thank you so much from the very fibres of my heart.
Hugs Cheryl xxx

What a lovely card! I must try this technique soon. Been far too busy to try anything new, even too busy to enjoy my crafting. I have to make 144 Christmas cards before the 17th. That's too much, but I need the extra work. Anyway I have already made 100 of them, and so I can relax a little, and comment on your blog again :)

Hi Sue
Another stunner today. I just love the stained glass effect. But doesn't the silk glitters get all mixed up when you tap it off?. I also love how you have made the flower, must get some tulle and give it a go. I have the flower die but not the Tulle. Another must for my Christmas list. Congratulations to all the winners and on reaching the 5200 followers mark.
