Peace

Hi bloggers!  I have a confession to make.  I absolutely love this Christmas card and didn't want to make it part of a double day post.  I really didn't want to have it share the limelight with another card, how silly I know!  I had this idea to use my Mosaic Poinsettia in the background of the Angel aperture almost from the minute I received the first prototype die of her (and there were several versions done!)  I couldn't decide what colours I wanted to do it in, though so it just kept getting put on the back burner so to speak.  Once I decided on a dusty rose and milk coloured card palette, though, I realised that I didn't have very much of this dusty rose card left.   In the end I had to be very careful about my cutting so as to get enough poinsettias and my Classic Rose die out of the few pieces that I had left.  I chose these colours because years ago I made Christmas ornaments for my first tree out of the same colours, it had a very romantic, vintage feel to it and that is what I wanted for this card as well.  I cut the Christmas Angel 2014 aperture out of milk card first and added mounting foam to the back of it.  Next I cut several different sizes of the Mosaic Poinsettia die out of dusty rose card.  I glued them on to another piece of milk coloured card so that they filled the aperture opening.  I mounted the angel over the top and matted it with a thin milk card mat.  I cut a candle and glued it into her hands.  On a larger piece of milk card, I stamped my sentiment with a clear Perfect Medium pad and heat embossed it with gold detail powder.  I mounted the angel aperture above it.   Using the Classic Rose die, I cut several of the dies in an assortment of sizes and made roses from them following the technique in the tutorial at the top of my blog.  I added dries clear Cosmic Shimmer glue to the edges and "sugared" them with Iced Snow.  I mounted the larger one in the bottom right corner with some cream tulle.  I cut Holly Sprays and Faux Quilled Leaves and added them around the flower.  I rubbed the tips of the leaves with the Perfect Medium pad, then embossed them in gold powder as well.  I added some Iced Snow to the holly leaves too.  I did the same thing with the two smaller roses, but mounted them in the opposite corner by the Angel's wing, but without the tulle this time.  I finished the card with a double milk card mat.  The finished dimensions are 7 1/4" x  8 1/4" in size.  I hope you think she was worthy of her own blog post too! LOL  All for now, Sue x

Hi Sue, I did pop in this morning to see this stunning card but didn't have time to comment then. I think the angel is just beautiful and although I tend to stick with more traditional Christmas colours I love her dress and the roses in the dusky pink.
I see that I'm not a winner (boo hoo) but must pop up there now to congratulate those who were so very lucky.
