Hazed Background Technique

Hi crafters!  Welcome to the first video in the new series!  This video will show you how to achieve different looks in your backgrounds as well as giving you a few ideas how to use some of the dies in the newest release!  I hope you have time to enjoy it, as it isn't too long either, an added extra bonus!  The finished size is 7 1/2" x  7 3/4" in size.
Don't forget to check the blog post below this one to see if your name was drawn for one of the dies that are being given away as we still have some that haven't been claimed yet!!  All for now, Sue x

Hi Sue and a big hi to Pam!
Lovely card today, makes me think of church gates, so ornate and pretty. Will look at video later.
Sue, I'm one of the sillies who hasn't claimed yet - looked at the list of winners last night and thought ooooh lots of lovely familiar names (inc fellow Welshies Heather T and Julie Laz). Had a look again this morning and there was another familiar name - mine!! Hadn't expected to see it so just didn't. Thanks Tres and all for congrats - and mine to everyone else. We are very lucky people - thanks, Sue.

morning Sue
It was lovely to see some regular Wilsonette Sisters in the launch gifts. Congratulations to you all.

It's fantastic to have your videos back Sue.
Today's gift is just wonderful. I love your colours and I agree with your comments on vellum. It is a lovely medium to use. Your new dies look wonderful. It's always better to see you using them. I always have a problem with dimensions and how they will look but to have you demonstrating with them shows all I need to know.
Thank you Sue for your beautiful new dies; for your inspiration (which is endless) but most of all for being a fantastic crafter and for using 'crafter speak' so we all understand crafting techniques.

Sandra - have a great day with your Wilsonette Sisters today. Just hope you get some crafting done in between coffee; gossip; coffee.
Ann Crawford - try rubbing your die with a 'tumble dryer sheet'. I had problems like this when I first started using dies and it works a treat.
Norah - my male family all know that if they insist on trying to be a brewery then on their head be it. They just get left on their own and definitely no sympathy.

It's my first Knit and Natter afternoon today since landing back so I'm really looking forward to catching up on things I've missed. Will have to get well wrapped up as although the sun is just peeping out it's very cold but dry.

To all under the weather for whatever reason hope you feel better soon. To all take care and stay safe. See you tomorrow.

Good morning Sue and my Wilsonette friends,
What a beautiful start to your new video release Sue, a beautiful card that is so different from the rest on the block, but so pretty and the vellum is just right with it adding that finishing element just to soften but you can still see all the beautiful work underneath. Very pretty colour of card used Sue and the wee dainty flowers are just so cute. Thank you Sue for a wonderful start to today.
Well done everyone on winning such beautiful dies and i know that you will all have great fun using these beauties. It is so nice to see some familiar names as winners. Enjoy ladies.
This is a short one today girls as my M.E. is playing up something rotten the now so i will wish you all a great day. Sandra have fun playing with our friends. Sending hugs to all my Angels both on blog and not at the moment. To all our missing friends you are really missed but i hope that you are growing stronger each day.
Finally thank you Sue for making so many dreams come true for some lovely people, your kindness and generosity is so very much appreciated and to see the smiles through their comments makes me so happy for them, you are a very special friend,

Had a lovely day crafting with Sandra and Mrs B, mind you not got much done, but it's good to share ideas. It's great to get a different perspective on what you are trying to achieve. Thanks for the inspiration Sandra.

Lovely beautiful card! I love the colors and the lacey look. The vellum really softens the background. I am sad that I didn't win any of the prized dies, but they are on my Christmas list for Santa to bring. Enjoyed the video, I miss them when they're not on. Have a great day- you've started mine off to a good start.

Beautiful card Sue but it seems almost a shame to obscure the very pretty background. Still love it though.

A great video tutorial. Thank you for the super tip of using vellum to create the hazy background, I'd never have thought of it myself and it's so effective. I have a lot of vellum in my stash and find that I tend to forget to use it in my cards, until now! x

Hi Sue. Thanks for a great video showing such a pretty card in a gorgeous colour : ) I don't use vellum enough,I love the soft effect of it.
I am late commenting today as my laptop was not working earlier, our lovely daughter fixed it, thank goodness, whilst I was with Sandra and Pat. Of course we don't have a good time, no laughing or chatting or picking Sandras brain for inspiration whilst we craft. Believe most of that last sentence and you will believe anything!!! (Pat and I both pick Sandras brain as she has that flare of how to put cards together that we just don't have. Thanks Sandra, and sorry for stirring it about the Christmas tree with your girls : )And thanks for the lovely lunch Pat : )
Congrats again to the lucky winners.
Sending my daily hugs to everyone.
Take care.

Hello Sue. I love Tuesday's cards especially the use of vellum, I think I will have to dig some out!! I am not sure I would have cut the border layer myself but it looks great in both of the directions you did.
