Wednesday Weekly Card Giveaway

Hi there crafty friends!  How do you feel about this aqua, silver and white Christmas card?  Want a chance to win it?  Just leave a comment on today's post to be entered into the drawing.  I started this card by embossing a piece of aqua card using my Frosty Swirls embossing folder.  I used some Cosmic Shimmer dries clear glue and ran a bead along some of the swirls then dusted it with Iced Snow and allowed it to dry.  I added small pearls to the centres of the snowflakes on the background too.  Using the Grand Large Labels, I cut a frame out of coconut white card and added mounting foam to the back to raise it for dimension.  I added it to my aqua embossed background and trimmed away any excess that showed.  I stamped the two Bauble stamps using a clear Perfect medium pad on to silver card, then heat embossed them in Silver Shine detail powder for a tone on tone look.  I cut them out with the matching Bauble die, added some silver cording to the top with a small bow and tucked the end of it under the edge of the frame, securing it with some glue.  I added mounting foam to the backs of the baubles to attach them to the card background.  I stamped my sentiment on vellum and embossed it in silver and cut it into a banner strip.  I attached it to the side of my frame, giving it a bit of curve before gluing it in place.  Using the Elegant Poinsettia stamps, I stamped them on to vellum with a Clear Perfect Medium and heat embossed them in silver.  I cut them out with the Classic Poinsettia die and made five assorted sizes of flowers.  I attached the two larger ones to the end of my sentiment banner with several white Holly Sprays coming from around them as accents.  I added small white pearls and Iced Snow to the holly sprays as embellishments.  The three smaller poinsettias were added to the opposite corner of the frame.  The card was completed with my usual white pierced mat layer, a thin silver mat and a final white mat.  The finished dimensions are 6 3/4" x  8 1/4" in size.  I will draw the winner and announce it on Saturday's blog post so don't forget to check back.  Check out the counter at the very bottom of the page, I am very excited to see it has nearly hit a new milestone (or at least as of the writing of this blog post late last night!)  Hopefully by morning  when this post goes live I will be able to say that it has hit a new milestone!   All for now, Sue x

The poinsettias in silver embossing on vellum and the vellum strip embossing powdered sentiment really do bring this card to life, I really love it, I wish everyone good luck on this, what a fabulous prize.

CONGRATULATIONS Sue. You must be so thrilled, although I bet there isnt a word to describe your feelings today. Its no more than you deserve though, if only we could hold a Wilsonette party !
And what a celebration card. Its stunning. Suits the cold frosty morning that's greeted me here in Lancashire.
I love it, and from now on I shall really appreciate every single festive card you show as I need so much inspiration at the moment. I got as far as organising my festive dies, paper's and stamps yesterday so they are all in one place, and that was as far as I got (even with all the nagging from Mr L) !! I dont know why I cant get going this year, you'd think the list I have of 'to do' cards would be the incentive, maybe its that - maybe it looks so over whelming its put the frightener's on me ?!
I must do something today, I have some large bauble stamps and dies so this IS the day, and make my first card on the lines of this, do I really want to use my Aqua card though ?
Looking forward to my daily French fix from Janet today, Im ready to cosy up in front of your wood burner, and big wooden table, to share idea's whilst looking out at your French garden.

I hope those Wilsonettes just popping in to view will feel like taking part soon, we miss you and hope you feel better soon.
To my dear friends, I wish for you a better day than yesterday. Congrats to those celebrating birthdays etc have a wonderful day.
To you Sue, I hope you find the time to enjoy your wonderful sucess.
Sending hugs.
Love you.
Lancashire Steph xx

Hi Sue,
Congratulations on achieving 6 million + milestone. That is certainly astounding but extremely well deserved. It just goes to show how much to mean to so many people so thank you for doing this every day. You must be very proud.
Today's card is beautiful. I love the design and the colours are fabulous. It is definitely frosty and wintry - just right for Christmas.
Pam hope you are well and getting stronger by the day. Lynne and Lindsey missing you both and hope you are both ok. Steph, I'm sure that once you get started on your cards you will be ok. I sometimes think that it is daunting to think I've got 100 + to make and how on earth am I going to do it. Then I just steel myself, look at some of Sue's designs and what I've got and just start. I used the Noël die last week and before I knew it, I had 12 done. Next moving onto the poinsettia, then Peace and then some stamped ones etc. I'm sure you will manage. Just think, we are all behind you all the way! Hope everyone has a good day and sending love and hugs to those who need/ want them. Love Alison xxxx

Thank you for starting my day off with a beautiful gift. Who wouldn't love to receive such a gift as this.
Your dies and stamps are just gorgeous and what colours for the season Silver so so elegant and never out of fashion. Fingers etc crossed and place dusted even if others are not.lol.
Big congratulations on the 6million. What an achievement.

Vicky - hope all went well yesterday.
Steph - has Mr let you out of your craft room yet?Hope you had a good day creating (in paper I mean). Yes the log burner is going nicely this morning and Me E is out fetching today's bread and local paper. The birds are stripping the bird tables at the moment it may mean sending Mr E out to refill later. Was hanging some washing out yesterday around noon as the sun had decided to come out to play and was joined by the most cutie Red Squirrel in the middle of the garden taking no notice of me what so ever. He visits quite often and seems to love the fir tree. He also digs little holes looking for the peanuts he steals and buries from the bird tables.
Norah - hope the winds have settled and you can get out today.
Sandra - I'm missing you. Hope you're OK and just having a busy time with your two wonderful girls this week.

Have now to go and get my hands and fingers back to normal colouring and neck in a reasonable state so they are fit to craft.
Hoping all in pain or down has a better day today. To all take care and stay safe. See you tomorrow.

Good morning Sue and everyone
Wow! 6 million Sue, what an achievement for you and richly deserved.
I love everything about today's Christmas card, really crisp frosty colours. I find it hard to absorb that Christmas is so near now as the weather is so warm in the UK at the moment and I am sure it will change soon. It is my birthday early in November and I can remember my mum telling me that on fireworks night, when I was due to be born all those years ago in London, she was walking down the road in thick snow with her sister and it was bitterly cold. Last night I had to open the windows as it was so warm, how times have changed.
I would love to win this card as I am sure we all would, so fingers crossed.
Have a good day everyone and hugs to those that need them.
Love and hugs

Good Morning 6 MILLION BLOGGER VIEW SUE! & My lovely Blog friends too,
Congratulations Sue, what a huge achievement, although I am surprised it's not doubled that, this is by far the best, most regular, friendliest blog in existence, it's the first place I want to go in the morning (when I am able) and has been for what seems like Many years now Sue, although back in those days there wasn't so many lovely comments to read. You deserve a celebration today xxxx
Janet, I missed you too, I have been getting myself into a bit of a pickle over this craft Fayre business, at best I can only get two cards done in one day, due to having to keep stopping, letting my achy bits recover and starting again! I have also discovered that on that same day there is a Craft Fayre at WI hall ( with WI cakes)!!, a local charity car boot sale and a wedding Fayre, all in and around town centre so I doubt there will be many visitors to a small hall right out of town!
Then there is the lady that has asked me todo it with her, she wants me to not only share a table but also a craft name ( but I already have my own) and she wants to use my cards & jewellery to put on flyers to advertise with her contact details! It's an awkward situation, I would like to see if the general public think that my cards etc are good enough to sell , so that part of me would like to go, but I just feel like i am being used, this lady makes sewing items, she has a few bits made up like baby wipe covers, tissue box covers etc.
So this has been the cause of my stress, any advice?
I need to come and relax in the Autumnal French Countryside & hide away from reality! Xxxx
I had a lovely day yesterday, my lovely ladies came to play, the hours just fly by though, I can't believe how quickly the day goes, we all get to have a play with each orthers dies too which is great, we have found it really great sharing the dies, you soon find that there are dies you hand' thought of buying, yet once you have had a play, you just have to buy it, it was the Striplets for me, once I had used Mrs B's striplet die, I had a go with it, saw how versatile it was, now it's top of my list! Well I must go and get in that craft room.
Crafty hugs to every single one of you lovely bunch,
Sandra xx

Good morning Sue and Wilsonette friends,
Oh Sue this card is so beautiful in the aqua and white with the touches of silver.I love everything on today's card as each lovingly created piece looks just right and where it should be. I love getting the inspiration that you give us each day and sometimes it is for the extra ideas that pop into my head and other times it is a case of why would i want to change a beautiful creation. I know that they say copying is the sincerest form of flattery, but i also know that it must be very frustrating as a designer of such beauty having someone come and nobble your ideas, but today i can't help but want to do it albeit without the grand labels as i don't have it. Thank you Sue on such a beautiful piece of art today and well done on the 6 million target, as i think you should be very proud of yourself and your achievements and that just proves how many people look in on your creativity and get inspired by it. Have a wonderful day Sue.
Pam dear friend, nice to see you in today. I understand the pain that Tim's anniversary opens up and it feels like yesterday instead of a year ago and you start asking yourself the same questions that you did when it happened, "Why". Even after the last year i wish i knew that answer for you, but we are all here for you anytime you need us with open arms and a shoulder to cry/shout/scream or batter(but please not too heavy with the thumps). Sending you a hug filled with friendship and love dear friend.
Janet(Ecco), just wondering if Mr E will be so amiable to go and get a top up of bread later on when he sees half a loaf out for the birdies. Oh how i love today's with the red squirrel as we seem to have nigh near drove them out of Britain leaving only the grey ones. Mr M thinks they are just vermin with bushy tails, but to me there is a chain of life forms that used to keep it under control but that was before eejits started bringing in the various animals that are not for this climate but they think looked cute.
Steph, i hope that you have a better day with the beautiful inspiration that Sue has done for you today. I hope Mr L has taken that bolt of the craft room door for you to get back out again for a cuppa and a breather. Sue has really put the wind beneath our wings this morning flower, but take it easy and don't soar to high otherwise you will be of no use to yourself tomorrow.
Sorry you are so sore Maria with all your poking and prodding that the physio's do, i used to come out worse than when i went in. Glad that your pain killers have kicked in but really it is a shame that you need to rely on them just to get through a pain less day.
Anne, that is wonderful news about Iain. I am so happy that he has improved so much that they have let him home and that he has behaved himself to be allowed home. A hotel is fine for a holiday as a stopping place, but not for days on end and not the most homely of places, so i bet you are both so glad to be home to your wee but n' ben. Tell him he has to behave himself now that he is home or you'll send him back. I am wondering if now that Iain is wearing the stockings if he thinks they are as sexy on him as they are on a woman(hee hee hee). Hugs to you both and welcome home. Iain behave as we don't want a recurrence and Anne worn down to a skelf.
It's a cold but bright day up here at my beloved Ochil Hills today, with the frost on the cars across the road but condensation on mines up the drive. Thank goodness that rain has stopped that lashed it down yesterday so much that we had a stream flowing along the road with it becoming nearly a river just with the amount of water. I hope where ever you are you have a lovely day. Sending hugs to all my Angels, thank you for caring. To all our MIA Wilsonettes, please come back home soon girls, sending you all hugs,
Love and crafty hugs

Wow wow wow. This Christmas card is absolutely stunning. I love the Aqua, Silver and White combination. I've been able to get some of the Aqua card thanks to Mrs B. Didn't like to ring the shop after Ally Pally. Although I wAs told I could. As I was saying to you Sue, I love the Grand Labels, but it's now no longer sold by Spellbinders.

This card is so gorgeous Sue, a real statement piece that shows the dies off to perfection.
Anne, I hope Iain is behaving himself and progressing nicely (sounds like a cake cooking!!)
Pam, lovely to see you pop a message on the blog. You've been missed and I hope the pain eases for you.
Sandra, I'll send you an e-mail, been meaning to do it but the decorating has taken over my life at the moment.
Dawn, happy birthday for November. I'm saying it now because as sure as eggs are eggs, I'll miss it.
Yorkielass June, are you ok?
Congrats Sue on 6m+, that's amazing.
Well, can't put it off any longer, paint brush here I come. Gloss painting yet more doors and skirting board in downstairs passage.

Magical - I love the background. Tell me, do you make all your Christmas cards, if so how many, and are they all as detailed as this?! I'm just starting (gulp) to make mine, and trying to be time-efficient by doing each stage in batches. I've done the embossing but not even started on the stamping yet. I've also realised they are going to have to be different colours due to the fact you only get one or two sheets that are the same colour in a 12x12 card pad. Good luck to everyone else starting their Christmas cards. Perhaps I should have started when you started yours Sue. Oh well, there's always next year ;-)

Hi Sue,
Wow! Gorgeous card. I really love it. As you know I'm going through an aqua phase at the moment so this is ideal! Will certainly give it a try but as I don't have that particular EF will have to adapt - maybe use the large snowflake/starry stamp. Many congratulations on reaching over 6million! You deserve it and so much more!
Thanks for the daily inspiration and friendship which we have with you and each other. xx
Pam - lovely to see you paying a little visit. It was a beautiful message posted by Robbie's Mum . So uplifting in every way. Take care xx
Maureen - happy painting! You are doing a great job. Do you sing along to the radio while you work?
Steph - know what you mean about the aqua card. I love it and was only using it for special cards but it might get your momentum going. You could then keep that card and make it in other colourways! This may not make any sense at all - feel free to ignore it. Lol x
Diane - all the very best with the wedding cake. Well done on making so many!
Sandra - difficult one ! If I were you I wouldn't want to lose my own "brand name" . There's sharing - and there's sort of taking over. After all you both make different items so why would you have the same " name". It's tricky but I think you are right - stick with your own lovely name. Now I said it! xx
Vicki - hope all went well yesterday.
Love to all Myra,
PS. Norah - I'm counting down the days until my next visit to Scotland. Coming up to The Trossachs. would you mind booking some fine weather?!! Hope you have recovered from your weekend. Xx

Congratulations on reaching 6 million plus hits. A fantastic achievement and so well deserved.

Pam, so pleased to see you dropping in, looking forward to your return when you feel you are able.

Steph, rather than think of how many cards you have to make in total try breaking it down into bite-sized chunks - close family, extended family, friends etc and then some for sale. It shouldn't feel so daunting then and may help with the mojo :-)

Hi Sue

Congratulations on the 6 million and a bit views- I switched to desktop view to get a 'live' number but the counter won't show on the mobile, never mind. I love Christmas cards in pastel colours, it's kind of my thing when I make for certain people in my life. This is a stunner though and I'm itching to get started on mine but I've been pretty horizontal this week still so I shall just plan, plan, plan!

Pam, good to hear from you, I actually read your post, went straight to Robbie's page and came back. Sending hugs x

The sleepiness is back and I want to get Billy out in the garden quickly so I must leave it there. Hugs to you all with extra for those that need them.
