It's A Friday Double Day

Hi bloggers!  It's Friday so that means another double dose of the Christmas spirit.  You have had a quick look at this first card during the Festive Die launch, but here it is in more detail and with written instructions.  I started with a square of Rich Red card and used my score board to create a lined edge for it.  I scored from corner to corner first, then added straight score lines coming out from the corners away from the initial score diagonals.  I just love the way it frames this Noel die.  I cut the Framed Noel in black card first, using the outside cutting edge with it.  Then I cut it again in white, but this time, I used my paper cutter to cut away the area outside of the actual NOEL letters in the centre.  I matted the larger black die cut with white card and the smaller noel die with red.  I added some mounting foam to both pieces and attached them together in the centre of my scored background.  Using the Filigree Poinsettia die, I cut several out of black card.  I used the matching Classic Poinsettia and cut the same sized dies in red and then married them up together to create my Poinsettias for the corner of the card.  I added flatback white pearls to the centre and attached them to the corner of the Framed Noel.  I completed the card with a pierced white mat, then a thin black and red mat and a final white mat layer.  The finished dimensions are 6 1/2" x  6 1/2" in size.  Scroll down to see offering number two.

On the other side of the colour spectrum is my Let It Snow card!  On a piece of coconut white card, I used the Justrite Snow Days background stamp.  I used a Cobalt Archival ink pad to stamp it.  I covered the entire piece with a self adhesive sticky sheet.  I peeled off the backing and in the centre of the card, I placed a Let It Snow die cut (out of Cobalt Blue card).  I used the waxy side of the backing paper to rub over the die cut to make sure it was securely attached.  I covered the entire piece with Iced Snow (because I never use that product, do I!  LOL)  I matted it with a thin Cobalt blue mat.  On a larger piece of coconut white card, I cut a California Collection border and glued it to the left side of the card for a white on white look.  I added some mounting foam to the Let It Snow die cut piece and added it to the larger white background.  I stamped the Snowflake bow pieces on to white card with the Cobalt Blue Archival and cut them out using a template (which is nothing more than the bow aperture piece) and the Classic Bow die.  I assembled the bow and glued it to the left side of the card.  I completed the card by adding a white pierced mat layer, a thin cobalt blue mat and a final white mat.  The finished dimensions are 6 3/4" x  8 3/4" in size.  I hope you have enjoyed the double day offerings!  All for now, Sue x

Love the double offering today, especially as they are so contrasting. The Red and black work together beautifully to give it quite a dramatic effect whilst the blue and white on the let it snow is cool and elegant. If I had to pick a favourite it would be Let it Snow. Both gorgeous - love that rich red for ultra Christmas warmth and the cool, frosty blue. The bow looks so sweet and much prefer the die bows to ribbon - although ribbon bows do look lovely in moderation - these are a wonderful embellishment without overpowering all the other interesting features on the card. morning Sue
I do so love your twofer days.
Your gifts today are both beautiful and once again I'm so pleased you haven't asked us to choose as I would find it very very difficult.
I have your Noel die - it's one of the three I'm using for this year's offerings. the others are your Peace and Joy and what joy you do bring us throughout the year.

Sandra - hope you all had a really good day yesterday.
Txcowgirl - No stopping you now you have Sue's dies. They are just like magic and jump into your hands when you need inspiration.
Steph - hope you're feeling somewhat better today. Fingers cross you can have your injection.
Myra P - I knit with one needle tucked under my right arm. I too am left handed and was taught by Mum who tried to teach me the left handed way. It didn't work! Knitting is the only thing I do righthanded. I crochet; embroider and tat as well as paper crafting and do all left handed. I can't even put a key into a lock with my right hand.
Norah - So pleased that Rory has found a doctor who will talk to Rory rather than just treating him as a number and dishing out tablets. Stay strong young lady. You are the reason Rory is a wonderful young man and strong in his own right and he knows that.

Right off to do the dreaded housework as it's Friday and then see what the rest of the day brings.

To all who are in pain and not well hope tomorrow is a better day. To all take care and stay safe. See you tomorrow.

Good morning Sue & friends,
Are we allowed favourites?.....I like them both but I love the Blue and White Let it snow card, love everything about it, I don't the stamps and dies, but I will put them on my list and check to see if my "crafting Sisters" have em in their stash, we have decided we are going to Craft while we talk, as we usually talk for so long we could make all of our Christmas cards, although I missed them both terribly yesterday, I hope you are in less pain today Sue (mrs B),
Pat it sounds like Pete is getting on great with the decorating, maybe it will all be finished before we meet next week! Hugs to you both xx
Norah, I am so happy that Rory has a therapist that is patient enough to sit and talk rather than rushing straight in with a prescription, be prepared for some tearful times ahead as the process becomes very emotional as you talk about the hurtful things that have happened in the past, hopefully it will help Rory deal with those issues and lay them to rest and move on, he is lucky to have such a wonderfully caring, understanding Mum, huge hugs xxxx
Janet, housework, really? You must be mad, that is just wasted crafting time, haha, when are you going back to France? Can you squeeze me in? Xxxx
Steph, I do hope you are feeling brighter today, sounds like something is causing you to react bless you, I hope the Nurse can give you some answers so that you can be more comfortable, gentle hugs are Lancashire bound! Xx
I wish there was a central place in the country that we could use to organise a Wilsonette Retreat, so that we could all meet up, wouldn't that be amazing?!
To all my lovely friends, I hope you have a lovely weekend.
Crafty hugs to all,

Hugs to Pam and Robbie as usual.im glad that Rory has a good therapist that isn't rushing in with medication., talking things through really helps, he had one fantastic mum.
Hope you are feeling better today Mrs B, hope you and Chris managed yesterday, I bet it was difficult with you both out of action so to speak. Look forward to seeing you and Sandra next week. Pete is doing more sitting doing scrabble that painting Sandra. He spent a couple of hours on Skype talking to his brothers yesterday. He painted the door but didn't notice that the paint had bits in so needs to rub it all down and start again.
Hugs to all in need of one today.

Will try and catch up with video and comments later, as at airport for local flight down to Port Elizabeth now.

Morning Sue,
Two wonderful creations this morning both different but both very special in their own way.

Norah you are one very special lady and a very dear Mum to Rory. It can be really hard with double worries when you are a parent of Special Needs but at the same time we can get an awful lot of happiness from our Special kids. I do wish the best for you and Rory and hope the psychatrist is one huge help for him. Even though our daughter can't speak but understands alot of what you say the psychatrist that she had at one point helped alot. It would make life so much easier if Mr. M was as special as you are with Rory I have say I am very lucky in that respect and Nikki adores her Dad.
Special hugs are being sent to you and Rory and I wish you only the very best.
Hugs to every one who needs them and I do hope your days get better very soon.

Hi Sue,
When I looked at today's gorgeous cards I actually said Wow, aloud. They are both stunning. I have the die for the first and the stamp for the second so will definitely try the first and perhaps a variation on a theme for the second!
This iced snow - is it new then!! Lol! Thank you Sue for your wonderful inspiration. Love the scoring on the first card too. Have a lovely weekend. Safe travel. x
Anne - Happy Anniversary to you and your husband. Hope you have a truly special day. xx
Cheryl - trust all goes well with you today - sending love x
Janet - a fellow left hander! I can't even stir my tea/coffee with my right hand! However Mum insisted I used my knife and fork in the conventional way. I am very glad she did.
Steph - so sorry about the nasty rash and that you are feeling so poorly. Hope you get something to help today. Sending love to you too. x
I started this at 12 35pm! Never had so many interruptions in my life.
Mrs B - hope you are a bit better today.
Love to Sarah, Leo and Skylar.
Love to all on the blog including, Pam and Robbie, Norah and Rory , Sandra, Anne, Brenda L, Sheila, Lindsay, Lynne, Lynda, Alison, June, Janet, Theresa, Diane M, Tres and Julie L.
Love Myra xx

Happy Anniversary to Anna & Hubby, have a lovely day. Pat-your Pete sound like a typical husband, lol sure he will get around to it later. Steph-you poor thing, really hope they can find the problem and soon make you better, gentle hugs to you. Mrs B-wish you better, hugs. Norah-read this morning of your possibly move to your mamma's house,it sound so nice to be able one day to go back home.Probably would feel strange at first but you feel your mum closer even if she's not there anymore and have a chat every day,you know what I mean? Hugs to you and Rory. Cheryl-thinking of you today. Angela w-wish it was spring here,it's getting cooler every day but seeing the leaf changing colour it is pretty. Sandra-how lovely would that be with a Wilsonette Retreat.....in the meantime how about a "I'm a Wilsonette " Badge of some kind ?? when we go to craft exhibitions etc,we can see quickly if we belong to our lovely family. What do you think ladies ?

I babbled long enough for today so I will get back to some housework, yes I'm also one of them tihi. Take it easy all and hugs to everyone!

Hello Sue, Your cards are always so lovely - I collected all your offerings on C&C its just a shame they got the order wrong and delayed - for some reason the Noel frame was not available and then the whole collection became unavailable so a really disappointed Customer. That said the other dies in the other collections are beautiful and look forward to making some stunning creations al a Sue and Julia. Thanks for all the inspiration.

I love the scoring pattern you've made and thanks for telling us how to. Both cards are lovely, although I don't associate snow with Christmas anymore - at least in the UK.

Hi Sue, two beautiful cards and difficult to choose between them as they are so different. I love the red of the first but then the blue of the second calls to me. The snowflake bow is gorgeous so why haven't I got that stamp yet?

Plenty of rain here today and although it marks our entry into Autumn I had hoped to get another decent week-end to tidy up in the garden as I hate gardening in wellies. Oh well, if it continues to rain I have the perfect excuse to lock myself away in my craft room :-)

Wishing everyone a good and pain free week-end.

Pam - I feel so sorry from your physio, I know exactly how she must be feeling. Hope you get another physio very soon.
Alimecca, Myra and Diane; thank you for your best wishes and thoughts. My foot is recovering slowly but well. My daughter Natalie has been so wonderful and I wouldn't manage without her.
Crafty hugs and best wishes to everyone. xxxxx

Better late and all that, Sue - thanks for the two-fer, the bold and the gentle. Always inspirational. Do love your poinsettias (one set of far too many on the want list!) and am guilty of lust. Again.
Another busy weekend for you Sue, but not too far for travelling this time. Keep smiling!

Hi Sue

Loved yesterday's card, just had a look, and it was a big "oh wow!" Then today's... the red one is lovely. I do like red with black or white rather than the traditional red/ green overkill that Christmas used to bring. Todays preference for me is the blue'snow' card though. I can see me getting hooked on the stuff too!

Pam, sorry you still have swelling, I hope they work out why but great that you can start driving and preparing for work. Great news about Robbie too. Pat L, glad for Sarahs little improvements. It'll take time but I'm sure she'll do well.
Norah, I hope Rory does well with his psychiatrist. I've saw your post yesterday about how your family has reacted and I really feel for you. Rory and you have our support without question.
Lorraine, welcome. I hope the blog helps the time pass for you. Get well soon x
Lots of people who are not well or having treatment for things. I hope you all feel better soon. Lots of names and I can't remember them, sorry for that but know I'm thinking of you all. XXX

I'm having a hard time making decisions at the minute plus all the visitors this week have wore me out totally! I slept 12hrs straight through last night/this morning, had a nap while cuddling Billy this afternoon for 3 hours, just had my tea and want to do the same again, Lucky Mr W gets some peace lol. Decision- going back and forward from one interviewee to the other, pros/ cons... I have a storage box to paint and some curtains to mend tomorrow so I hope the buzz of the sewing machine will aid that. Will hopefully find time for a little card making too as Christmas creeps ever closer and it's my nephews birthday too very soon.

Great big hugs and best wishes to all of you. Especially if you're ill, in any type of pain, having, treatment or recovering. May your crafty mojos overflow with ideas!

Good morning Sue and my Wilsonette Angels, well it was this morning when I started today,
Both cards are beautiful Sue for totally different reasons but i love the glitz and sparkle of the 2nd one. The coolness and colours are so beautiful.
This was one of the stamps that should have come from C&C with my order from the weekender weekend and none of it has arrived and now they can't get it for me. I have been looking forward to my playing to me with my new "toys" and to no avail. Have been able to order some from another wee firm so hopefully i will get them soon, just so disappointed as it always seems to take C&C 9-10days before they send it out to start with and then another week before i get anything. This is the 2nd order that I haven’t even received one of the things and you don’t mind if it is other stuff but not when it ‘s my Sue stuff.
To Anne Crawford and her lovely husband i wish you both many congratulations on reaching your Golden Wedding, have a great party with your family flower.
CONGRATULATIONS Kitty on your baby grandsons arrival. What a beautiful reason for not being able to see Sue. Hope that he and his new mummy are well. The season the now seems to be all boys that are coming and somehow they don't look right in my crocheted dresses and matinee coats and bonnets.
Frances, happy anniversary flower, 44 years, wow I think there should be medals for some people lasting that long and their other half still being alive to tell the tale. I hope you have had a great day flower , you and your husband.
Ever had one of those days that you just seem to be at it the whole day, well today is just been that kind of a day and this is the first I have been able to get back and actually sit down, boy am I tired but at least all the knitting is sewn up and away to the babies, a washing that would frighten the French is done, and hung up, mum’s nebuliser and masks are away to the surgery for the snooty wee lassie to give back to the hospital Miss that’s not my job all hoity toity. I have checked 3 times with the hospital at Larbert and that is where they told me to take it to my doctors and they would get it collected. OOH some people just make you want to scream I have enough on my plate without them getting all uppity about the equipment they arranged for mum to have. I met my friend Lynn in the car park as she was actually going in at the same time to pick up a prescription for her old father and couldn’t believe her ears. Her dad has the same useless lot of doctors apart from one, as I do and knows just how her mum used to go on about them and her dad still does but is too old to change practices now. I will change if the only good doctor who is an Irishman leaves as the rest are there for their pay at the end of the month and not actually interested in their patients.
Anyway my cherubs I will go and seethe in the shower and have hopefully some sleep as it doesn’t seem all that forth coming the now. Wishing all my angels a good night and see you all tomorrow hopefully. Sending hugs to all my missing friends, my friends who are down and the ones who just need a hug, I give willing and with love. Sleep tight my special angels,
Love and crafty hugs
Norah (Glenochil)

Hi Sue. I think both of these Christmas cards today are fantastic !! I really love them both. The background you have created for the NOËL card is great !! Very clever, and it looks really complicated to !! The NOËL die is fab. I love the poinsettias and the colours you have used.
The "let it snow" card, I think is very Christmassy looking. It reminds me of a crisp, cold, winters day with the glitter looking like glistening snow. I love the Colbolt blue and white together. The border and the Cassic Bow dies with the snowflake stamp look fantastic !! Just gorgeous. This card is beautiful Sue. I am still after this particular die as I really love this one.
Thank you yet again for two more beautiful Christmas cards Sue and thank you for everything you do for us every day.
