It's A Double Day And Some News!

Hello bloggers!  I believe it is going to be a "Believe" sort of day with both cards featuring the Believe die!  The first one up mixes it with all sorts of holly elements.  I started with a milk piece of card and used the Swirling Holly embossing folder to add texture to my background.  I cut a strip of decorative paper from my stash that had a holly motif to it and added it to the bottom of my card.  Next I stamped the Holly bow stamp using both Forest Moss and Crushed Olive distress markers and colouring directly on to the stamp with them.  I stamped all the pieces on to milk card and cut them out with the Classic bow die set and assembled it to create a 3D bow for my card.  I cut a strip of milk card and stamped off my bow stamp to create a very faint holly pattern.  I matted it with olive card and added it between the sections of my card.  I glued the bow in to the very centre of it.  For my focal element, I cut a Decorative Frame from the California Collection out of milk card.  I inked it with Antique Linen before removing it from the die. I cut two of the Believe die in milk card and one in olive green card.  I glued the two milk die cuts together and then offset the olive green one behind it for a shadow.  I glued it in to the centre of my die cut.  I cut a couple of holly pieces out of the Holly Accessory kit and added the open Holly piece (from the same set)on top in the same green.  I cut some of the berries out of red card and glued them to it and then added the finished hollies on the top and bottom of my focal element.  I finished the card with a pierced milk mat, a thin olive green mat and a final milk mat.  I added a couple of flatback pearls and a small pearl swirl to complete the card.  The finished dimensions are 6 3/4" x  8 1/4" in size.  Scroll down for card number two.

This second card has a completely different feel to it I think so that is why I thought it would be good to show them together.  I started with the background and stamped the Justrite Snowflakes all over the background using a Clear Perfect Medium on to blue card.  I covered it with a sticky adhesive sheet and then coated it with Iced Snow for a frosty feel.  It is difficult to see the stamped images in my pics, you have to really look for them, but they show up ever so nicely in real life!  Next I embossed some white card with the Frosty Swirls embossing folder.  Just to be a bit different, I hand cut the edge following along some of the swirls.  I added mounting foam to the back and adhered it to my snowy background.  I cut several snowflakes from the 2012 Snowflake Pendant in both blue and white and layered them up to create two snowflakes for the side of the card.  I cut the Believe die several times out of coconut white card and stacked them and glued the together.  This gives the appearance of being raised for dimension without having to use mounting foam.  I glued it to the upper corner of the card.  I completed this card with a white pierced mat, a thin blue mat and a final white mat.  The finished dimensions are 7 1/2" x  8 3/4" in size.  Happy Double Day!

Now for my news!  I recently had an email from Crafts Beautiful Magazine to say that I had been nominated in their Best Blog category of the 2014 Craft Awards!  I was very excited to hear that, especially since the nominations come from their readers!  The voting is official open now so it would be lovely if I could persuade you to go over to the Crafts Beautiful website to cast your vote  for me in that category! Creative Expressions has also been nominated for several different categories as well including best sticking product, best paint range to best stamp range.  Here is a link to the voting:

Morning Sue, Pam and all Wilsonettes, oh I so love double Fridays and these 2 cards today are no exception, I have the 'Believe' die and was wondering how to use it and you have really tempted my taste buds today Sue, so I will be practicing this.

Managed to catch all of your shows yesterday on C&C and also taped them as well just in case I missed anything, I always do somehow. I did order the new embossing folders. You must have been really knackered yesterday after that marathon effort. Lovely to see John help you on the later shows.

When are your next sets of new dies coming out, I know you said it would be before the end of the year.

Have a great Friday everyone, keep safe, healthy and happy, hugs June Smith xxx

Congratulations on being nominated in Crafts Beautiful: ) I am off to vote now.
Barbara Macaskill, go to createandcraft.tv then click on TV schedule, select 16th Oct and choose which of Sues shows you want to watch first, but they are only available for 7 days. Hope that helps you:)

GM Sue - love that first card - that holly bow is lovely - saw some of your live shows yday - loved the porcelain daisy flowers - must try that! Some one emailed in yday re buying foam pads on a sheet - I get mine in A4 sheets 1/2/ & 3mm thick from Affixit crafts - good prices and good service - works out so much cheaper than buying small quantities on tiny rolls or in packets. Hope this helps the person who asked the question. Happy Friday all - off to vote now!

Morning Sue. Wonder if you have managed a bit of a lie in after yesterday's marathon - was that an I wish statement back at me ?
First show of the day froze so didnt see all of your first demo and it was such a beautiful card. I still have show's to catch up with as I kept nodding off thanks to my meds ! Still, at least I can watch the demo's without the selling as I already know just how wonderful and special your dies and folders are, its your magical hands I love to watch.
Both cards today are beautiful, each having something wintery, traditional, and Cmassy along with so pretty, anyone would appreciate either. Something in the above sentance doesnt make sense simewhere but you get my jist !
Congratulations on your nominations, you have MY vote in every catagory possible. I wont say "hope you manage a rest today" as Im almost sure you wont, or ever do !
I must catch up on your show's today as my mojo has completly left me, so has the enthusiasm or urge to craft at all, Mr L actually stated that the bungalow doesnt sound the same without the constant drone of my mangle and the awful screech that comes from my paper cutter !

Pam - Hoping work goes well today and that you are enjoying a new routine again. Take care sweet lady.
Really getting concerned about or missing regular Wilsonettes, we miss you girlies.
To all needing love, hugs, and support, I have a basket so full please take all you need.

They give a list but there is a bar at the bottom of each category where you can add your own favourite. I suspect a lot more than me voted for you and I also voted for Particraft as the best blog! Been voting again so had another go at voting for you in Designer category! If there's any justice - you'll win. It goes without saying that we are not at all biased lol! great day yesterday. Well done for finishing the marathon.
Haven't read any comments today as am pushed for time but will read them later, all being well.
Have a great day everyone.

Hi Sue, two gorgeous Christmas cards. Both beautiful but the first has to be my favourite.

Hi Sue. Thank you for two beautiful Christmas cards today !! I love them both but my favourite had to be the first one with the beautiful holly background and fab holly bow !! My stepdaughter bought me the beautiful holly bow stamp for my birthday and one of my parents pressies was the background holly folder. I do not have the "believe" die but I can try something else instead to replicate this beautiful card Sue. A definite must try. This card is now on my "to do" list. I love the blue glittery card to. It is funny about your voting news as just before I came to your blog today I had an email asking me to vote for my favourite craft blog so I had already voted for you in as many category's as I could before I came here !! Obviously I voted for Creative Expressions products to as I rarely buy anything else now. I just love all the stuff you make. Please try to get some rest after your Marathon Day yesterday. John was great to and I hope he will also be on some more c+c shows. I like his card making style. It is great to have others showcasing your dies, stamps and embossing folders to give us crafters lots of extra ideas. I am still unwell so it will be another chance for me to rest and watch some of your shows that I recorded yesterday all over again !!
Thank you for another fab Christmas two-fer today Sue. Sending you lots of love and special hugs love from Tres x x x

Sending lots of love to all the Wondeful Wilsonette's today love from Tres x x x

Good morning Sue and Wilsonette Angels,
Number 1 has stolen the show today for me with the colours, design and the matching up of the holly through out. Your second card is beautiful as well Sue in the white and blue and with the hand cutting around the swirls of the embossing. I hope that you and John had a great day yesterday although very long day. Please take a wee bit rest before starting again. I am not surprised at you getting nominated for best blog Sue because we all already know that you have the best blog in the universe, never mind the world. I know i will definitely be going to their site to cast my vote, congratulations flower for a well earned recognition.
Tres i am so sorry i missed wishing you a happy birthday for both you and your wee sister, but i hope that you both had a lovely time. I am missing things and forgetting things so much at the moment and i just wonder when i will return to normal, but my normal has changed and i just can't get used to this new one. Take it easy dear friend and build up your strength again as it does take a lot out of you making a card, believe me this i know. Sending you some hugs just to let you know i am thinking of you.
Hi Barbara, nice to have you join us from the US, you are now an official Wilsonette. If you either download the app for create and craft or go on to their website createandcraft.tv you can watch all yesterdays programes the now on the website, i hope this helps as you could see them live when our Sue is next on.
Pam, i hope you have a good day at work, no extra human feats please as we want you getting better and moving forward in health.
Cameeli, have a lovely trip to Bournemouth(is that where mum and dad stay cos the memory has went on strike). Have a good time anyway flower and i hope it acts as a pick me up for you.
Well it's not a nice day up here at the Ochils but i have another 10 wedding invites to make so will make a start as i need some more of the diamante hearts. Our nephew asked his fiance how much the wedding invites had cost her when he seen them as he was reckoning on £10 for 2. He has just gave me a boost like you wouldn't believe. I though he knew it was just me making them up for them, but obviously not. He couldn't believe that i had made them, which i am not sure how to take but i am glad that he likes them even if it did take Kelly 20mins to get it out of him what he thought.
Have a lovely day everyone and hugs to all my angels on blog and not,
Love and crafty hugs
Norah (Glenochil)

Hi Cr@fty Heather T, I did exactly the same as you. I purchased the Austrian Collection and on the evening before all Sue's shows and I only got 10% discount instead of the 20% discount I am entitled to for the One Day Wonder Shows. I phoned up the Create and Craft members helpline and complained and although they could not alter my order as it was already being processed, they have given me a £10 pounds discount voucher to spend on my next c+c purchase which I can redeem on their website. I hope you will do the same as me. It is better than nothing at all and you get to look forward to spending £10 pounds without paying out again on your next shop !! I hope this helps love from Tres x x x

Sorry Sue but everyone should to be able to get what they are entitled to without feeling like they have been "ripped off" !! x x x

Love your cards Sue but I am devastated - I missed all but one of your shows on tv.
What was that woman doing in that silly air hostess outfit - for goodness sake.
Cut out the gimics and let the Crafters get on with crafting.
I am seriously losing it with C&C - if it weren't for you Sue and Tina with the parchment craft butterflies I would not turn them on.
Grumble over with.

Good Day to Sue and all your followers!

I posted a comment for the first time the other day and received wonderful feedback and welcoming comments. I must say it made me feel special and brought a tear to me eye. So thank you to everyone for the welcome.

I would like to congratulate Sue for her nominations and say that I have already cast my votes for Sue and Creative Expressions.

The shows yesterday were fantastic and cards that I haven't seen before were shown, which was lovely to see. All Sue's cards are amazing and works of art. Welcome to John, he did an excellent job yesterday! His cards, which were shown using the embossing folders, were fantastic and I'm sure he is a great edition to the team.

I would like to wish everyone well and thank Sue for the beautiful cards today and look forward to many more from Sue and the team.

Too bad the voting was only for resident of the UK. Crafter are very happy people that I believed we do not have Nationality. Our nationality is Crafty-maniac.
Ladies write to Crafts Beautiful Magazine and ask to let us vote. I do not care for the price those belong in the UK. My best price is been part of something beautiful, been part of Wilsonette (hoped I got the name right). Every day after my morning cup of hot tea or late at night I am sitting in front of my computer watching Sue creating MAGIC.
Everybody enjoy your weekend, keep yourself healthy and I will be praying for all of you.

Helloooo Sue and the Wilsonettes! Wow! Two wonderful twofers. A couple of days ago I did a similar card to the first one you did. I haven't got the Believe die so I just used a Merry Christmas one. Where you used the holly paper I used Christmas ribbon. You can get it quite cheap at around a £1 and it's exactly the same as your paper. The ribbon is quite wide with a wire either side so I cut it in half and placed each piece going up on the sides. Love the second one too! Thank you Sue for the good tip of cutting several intricate dies and gluing them together rather than using fiddly tiny foam pads. Great shows Sue. I loved the effect of the polished glitters and the deco striplet die that you used. It was also nice to see John on the show too with you. A born natural!!! I went on the Crafts Beautiful to vote and realized that I'd already been and done it! It was a few months ago now so you must have had quite a few people nominating you for them to get in touch letting you know! It's just so deserved Sue. "Thank you" for all the inspiration you give xx Hope you will manage to have a bit of a rest now after all you have done. Take care Sue. Sending lots of love to you and your family xx Sending love and hugs to all our Wilsonettes who are in need. xx Take care everyone xx Love Karen xx
