Norah love and hugs for you and your family just wish I could give them in person.
Gentle hugs for Leo and Skylar.
Love and hugs to all the Wilsonettes and hope you all have a lovely day.
Pam I hope your foot is getting better and Robbie is continuing to improve.
Nearly time to get Jessica up for school I wonder what she will have on her list for my trip to the shops, it is my step grandsons 16th birthday today not good at making male cards as when mine where in the teen years I did not make cards so if I get a block I come looking at Sue's blog and can usually find something to help me.

Only you Sue can create cards like this!
A busy day today so better get a move on, but we had a good if quite slow journey down to Edinburgh yesterday, we left glorious sunshine in Gairloch 18 degrees and after going through Glen Docherty it was down to 12 degrees and really misty, so sorry Norah didn't get to see the Ochills in their glory but I was thinking about you and your family , hope the sun shines a bit brighter for you today.

morning Sue
A truly beautiful gift this morning and a lovely start to a very very dull wet day here in Sheffield.
I still have not tried fire and ice (Game of Thrones springs to mind)but will seriously think about it now. A beautiful format and an exquisite finish. I also have never thought of using gilding flakes with small dies. Your inspiration is boundless Sue and I thank you so much for sharing.

I survived the expedition of duvet covers etc but as a result was finished for the entire day. Am not looking forward to today's menu either as I pay my first visit to the Physios for treatment on my neck and the top of my spine. You'd think after all the years of visiting these lovely people I'd be used to it. Ah well as the saying goes 'no pain no gain'. I really wish I could get to Alley Pally with you all this week-end but it's really too long a trip so I wish you all the very best. I'm sure that you'll have purses and plastic at the ready and am looking forward to your reports.

Norah - another day gone and hopefully a little more comfort has arrived. I'm with you all.

Hoping that everyone in need is feeling a little better today. Take care and stay safe. Will se you tomorrow.

CAN YOU HELP ME, have lost my mojo and have searched high and low for it, I know I didn't leave it on holiday but am wondering if it's escaped through my bedroom window, I'm useless without it. Can you all check your sheds, outhouse, coalhouse or anywhere else where it could be. I'm hoping you can find it for me. There will be a reward for the person who spots it first. lol. Maybe its in Sues beautiful card. Hope everyone is ok and if not a hug from me to you.

Hi Sue thank you for today's video this is a technique I have admired but haven't tried yet. It really is beautiful so thank you for sharing. I can see why it is your favourite. It was quite funny seeing your desk in a bit of a muddle too as you appear on video to be such a tidy crafter (I know you say you're not but you just have that organised air about you!) . Weather is gloomy here in Hampshire today but the sun should be out later. Going shopping with my mother in law today, she and her partner have decided to get married after being together for 28 years, so we are looking for a dress suitable as a wedding dress for a mature lady who would really like it in the family tartan! Not much call for that in Hampshire so we may be looking at dress patterns and may fly to Edinburgh soon to get the silk. Very exciting. Have a great day. Love Diane G xxx
Cheryl thinking of you at the hospital today and Namcy too. Xxxxx
Theresa I've just had a look under my bed for your mojo but it's not there. I've mislaid mine too as I keep looking at the housework and can't settle to 'fun' until I have done that!!! Hope you find it soon xxxxxx

Hi Sue
Another stunning card Sue. I'll have to watch the video and have a go at this technique. You have explained it beautifully, but it's always nice to see it in person so to speak. Not to sure why anyone would think the Wilsonnette on wheels would be to noisy for Paul when us four ladies are in it. We're not noisy are we ladies.
Hugs to Pam, Robbie, Lancs Steph, and I'm thinking of you Norah.
Special hugs to Mrs B and Sandra as usual.

Morning Sue and friends.

Bloomin fire and ice !!! Are you determind to keep me in a perminent state of panic Ms Wilson ? Lol. Such a pretty design and affect though. But Im a bit fuddled (no change there) how come that when the bloomin flakes were sprinkled onto the fire part of the project, they only seemed to adhere to the die pattern, I thought the sticky sheet covered all the card, then like the beautiful ice side all the card was covered with lush sparkle, I either need to re watch the tutorial or sort my noggin out !! Another problem I find im having is that if I dont use wax paper I get metal brown bits around the edge of my die cut peice, but when I use the wax paper and want to emboss after cutting, the obvious happens and it falls out of the die. Also having to use wax paper, should I need to re-position my card to pass through a second time, the same happens, then I end up throwing card away as its not gone back into the die properly and double cut - am I making any sense at all ???!
See, told you I wasnt a confident crafter ! I need to forget dies on my list and just apply as housekeeper to Sue so I can learn how to be a better crafter during my coffee/lunch break lol
Barbie - yes.
TOB - Not here, but if I can help you know how to contact me.

To my extra special friends that need warm loving hugs, my arms are open wide, you all know who I mean.
I hope your world isnt too manic at the moment and that you are getting lots of help (and pizza)
Sending much love.

Sandra said...

Good Morning Sue & friends,
I love this card, I had a go at fire and Ice at the weekend, I used it on Paul's Anniversary Card, I used black card with it, it worked out well, although jees the mess, it was everywhere, I am not the tidiest of crafters, but I had managed to keep quite a tidy work area, I hadn't noticed the window was ajar, until I got the flakes out! Even the kittens have little hints of gold on their backs!
Theresa, I had a quick look, but no joy I'm afraid, it's maybe gone with mine for a little break somewhere! I find looking on pinterest helps, it jests puts ideas back in your head, cards from months, even years ago can kick start your 'mojo' it also gets you using dies you purchased months/years ago, that get forgotten. That's why I love if when Sue puts up one of her older designs.
I am getting quite excited about our adventures on Saturday, got a lot o think about before as I have to help prepare Sophie & Lucys kit for their Bronze Duke of Edinburgh expedition, we are dropping them off on Saturday morning, then it's straight off to pick up my Wilsonette sisters for our Crafty Road a Trip!
My girls are really small for their age, not sure if it's because they were small twins when they were born, the ruck sacks they have to take with all their kit weighs much more than they do, they look like they will just tip backwards when they put it on but this trip is assessed, so they gave to carry everything, tent, sleeping bag, hydration pack, food for weekend, cooking stove, you name it! Luckily neither of them are into make up etc so lie most teenagers they won't be stressing about having room for mirrors, mascara, hair straighteners etc! I have always encouraged them to believe that they are naturally beautiful!
Norah, you are in my thoughts daily, sending you huge, healing hugs xxxxx
Hugs to all of you, gentle ones for those that are a little more fragile,
Sandra xxxxxx

Beautiful card Sue!
Have done the gilding flakes and the iced snow but not together. Will have a go soon.

Postman has just been with my card I won from your show on C&C. It is the white Believe card with the pine bough dies shaped like a Christmas tree. Your cards are even more stunning in real life and it will get pride of place for Christmas.

Hi Sue. Thank you for today's fab video and gorgeous card !! Your fire and ice technique looks fantastic, showing off more of your beautiful dies. I really love your background folder to. (Another one for my huge wish list !!) I love the way you have made your bow with the gilding flakes to, but I will have to watch the video again as I got slightly confused about how you made the actual bow itself. I will definitely be having a go at doing the bows in this way. Your card is very pretty and I would think anyone receiving a card like this would really treasure it.
Lots of love to you today Sue from Tres x x x

Norah, thinking of you and your family today. Sending lots of love and gentle cuddles from Tres x x x

Hi Sue
I watched the video this morning and forgot to leave a comment (old age doesn't come on it's own lol). This technique is my favourite also and I always love the completed card it looks so pretty. When I first used the gilding flakes I always put too much on, it's only after watching you demo that I saw you only need a small amount. I received my prize Sue thank you so much they are gorgeous. My poinsettia multi buy has arrived and I can't wait to play with them. Hope everyone has a fabulous time at Ally Pally.
TOB due to personal problems I lost my mojo but have now found mine, hope you find yours soon. Sending you some of mine.
Sending hugs to Norah, yorkielass and Ita
Hugs x

Hi Sue, another totally brilliant video and a stunning card thank you, I love the fire and ice technique - it is so effective. Love it all!
A big thank you for all your wonderful ideas and inspiration. Take care love Brenda xxx

Sending hugs to Norah, Pam, Ita, Yorkielass and anyone else who needs, them keep well everyone.

Janet, I totally understand your duvet expedition, I can just about cope with our king-size cover, but when staying at one of our daughters I was trying to be helpful and put on her super king size cover - it was a nightmare !!!! Hope Physio went well and you get some relief. LOL

TOB you do realise you've got all these ladies searching their homes and gardens everywhere they go for your Mojo! - I bet it's just "BEHIND YOU" seriously though, hope it comes back to you soon,
take care.

Sandra, Hope the girls manage well on their Bronze Duke of Edinburgh expedition. I know at the end of it they will come home very pleased and proud of what they have achieved - but will be exhausted. Have a safe journey on Saturday, I'm sure you're in for a laugh all the way, it made me think of times I helped on primary school trips, you no sooner leave school and they ask "are we nearly there yet?" Or "Miss can I have my packed lunch now" oh happy days!!!

Hi Sue, beautiful card as always with this technique. So glad I learnt it properly from you in Aberdeen.

Eventually arrived safely in Dorset after thick fog in Edinburgh and thunderstorms in Southampton delayed the flight somewhat but it has been a beautuful evening and my sister and I have been enjoying a good old gossip. Safe journey to all those travelling over the next few days.

Hi Sue

I love fire and ice, just need to get me some ice!!! Hopefully I'll get to watch later. Hugs to you and Mom from Billy and I.

Norah, sending love to you all. We'll be so happy to have you back but only when you're ready.

Hugs to all in hospital, treatment or physio.

Theresa, I've heard that for lost mojo you can try this- lucky dip. One die set, one stamp set, an EF, one cardstock/ paper or both. Then pick ink, embellishment, embossing powder etc in matching or co ordinating colour. Doesn't matter if you close your eyes and point or roll a dice etc to choose then work with whatever comes out. It's just a bit of fun to get yourself rolling again. I had a good look on my ceiling as that's what I can see best from here!

I'm pretty tired but wanted to check in. 2 interviews down, 2 tomorrow and meeting prospective cleaner too. Once done I pick 2/3 people to meet Billy and I and choose from there. This will be hard as both ladies I spoke to today were lovely!

Hugs all round, the more you need the more you take :-) I have to sign off now and think about bed as today was exhausting! I'm being good and getting my rest. If I don't get back before I wish Sue a great weekend at Ally Pally and just a great a weekend to the Wilsonettes attending.

Crafty hugs,

T x

Hi Sue,
Great card. Thanks for sharing technique, will try it on baubles.

One part puzzled me though. Re: the straight ribbon you demonstrated gilding - was there a reason to use glue to put on card could you not have exposed the 'unused' side of the double sided tape?
