Sunny Days

Good Sunday Morning all!  As you can probably tell, I have been having a rummage through some of my old folders.  This card is from late last year, but these sunflowers are just so pretty, I thought I would share it with you.  I selected our chestnut brown card which I think is the prettiest shade of brown, for my background just to be a bit different.  Using a clear Perfect Medium pad, I stamped the Lavish Corners background by Justrite and heat embossed it with a clear embossing  powder for a tonal look.  I cut the Resplendent Rectangles twice in coconut white card and added them behind my background, just peeking out around the edge.  There was a bit of an overlap to them, but it fit rather nicely.  I stamped the Justrite Sunflowers Vintage Labels Five set and cut it out with the matching die.  I coloured it with Distress markers and added a little white gel pen to the centre as an accent.  Using the Decorative Labels Eight die, I cut two of them and nipped them in half to fit them so they were framing my focal element.  I added foam to the back and placed it in the centre of my card.  I decided to keep it simple, no extra flowers or ribbons as I just liked the tonal background showing.  The card was then finished with a bit of matting and layering with taupe and white card with my usual pierced layer to frame the centrepiece.  The finished dimensions are 6 1/2" x 7 3/4" in size.

Now for the Sunday Comment Game winners to be announced.  This week's winners are:

Tracy W!!!
Heather Tom!!!
Jan (Northampton)!!!

For the extra qualifyiing post of Sept. 1st, the winners are:
CraftyGranny!!!
Diana Sinclair!!!
Margaret Dixon!!!

For the extra qualifying post of Sept. 3rd, the winners are:
Rosalind McLellan!!!
KP (Karen)!!!
Ann without an "e"!!!

Congratulations all!  Please email me at americansue1@gmail.com to confirm your address and claim your prize.  All for now, Sue x

Good Sunday Morning Sue
It is a beautiful autumn morning here in Kent and the sun is breaking through the early morning mist. The sunflowers in my neighbours garden are way up above the fence and there bright yellow faces raised to the sun.

Sunflowers are a particular favourite of mine so your card is very appropriate for today. I love the chestnut card as well it is a beautiful, rich, autumn shade and goes well with the yellows and oranges of the sunflowers.

Congratulations to all the winners.

morning Sue

Before I do anything else I need a little help please. I seem to have missed the Candy Blog draw and therefore the Winner. Can anyone please tell me who won.

Now for today's gift and what a gift. I know a young lady who would go 'ape' if she received this card. Sunflowers are her absolute favourites. She doesn't have any other flowers. So for me today's gift is just the perfect gift for her. I love the colour scheme of brown/yellow. Those colours are just made for each other and I think you were right Sue in not adding ribbon etc.
This has definitely gone into my 'must do and save' file.

Wheely Bad - hope you had a good night and feel a little brighter this morning.
Lynnw - hope everything went well at the fete and perhaps can I say that your little darlings misbehaved a little for 'Dad' but I bet they didn't.
Norah - where were you yesterday? Hope all is OK and that your expedition of 'up the lane' hasn't floored you.
Sandraa - missed you too. Hope you're OK.
Absolutely shattered yesterday afternoon after trekking around Meadowhall all morning. At least Bday pressies bought so don't have to worry about that and a little bit of something for my other two Greats as I cannot just give to one without the other.

Looking forward to today as we're visiting my eldest daughter Christina in Hognaston. Hope 'Raged' squirrel is behaving himself and that we're not savaged by him when we arrive!!

Hoping that all in need are feeling a little better this morning and looking forward to a beautiful Sunday. Take care and see you tomorrow.

Hellooooo Sue and the Wilsonettes! Love the cheerful sunflowers on this card. They just seem to pick you up as you look at them. Gorgeous card Sue and love the background stamp and die too. Brown card I think is under rated. I think it's a lovely colour, especially when mixed with yellow, orange, white, black, pink, just to name but a few colours. Reminds me bit of liquorice allsorts....apart from the orange! "Thank you Sue" for your inspiration xx Sending love and hugs to you and your family xx Ooooo and how great it was to see you again in the Simply Cards and Papercraft magazine. It was great reading the Paved Pearl effect and the cards that you made, Merry Christmas and Christmas Wishes are stunning! It was great to see a mention of Sam too on the blog spotlight, page 8! Wonderful! I really do love this magazine, not only for the tips but for the wonderful, quality free gifts they give. This month being Spellbinder Christmas Creations clear stamp set and an embossing folder! Can't wait to use them! Last years was the Spellbinders Heirloom baubles! Will have to get a move on, it won't be long! Lyndsey, wow! I can imagine how priceless it was for you getting back in the saddle after 4 1/2 years. So so pleased for you xx I used to love it, my last ride being a 2 hour trek 15 years ago.....good grief....I'll stop now! Lol! Sending love and hugs to you Lyndsey, Lynne, Lynda, Yorkielass, Pam, Tina and all our Wilsonette family who need a love and hug xx Congratulations to our lucky winners! Wonderful! Enjoy your prizes! take care everyone xx Love Karen xx

I like it when you use older items. We all buy stuff then it is overtaken and I at least, forget how I've seen the older items used.
Thanks for taking us back today.

HI SUE
THINK THIS STAMP STANDS OUT SO WELL AGAINST THE BROWN. JUST RITE STAMPS ARE FAB. I HAVE YET ANOTHER LINE OF PEG BOARD ON MY WALL TO COLLECT MORE STAMPS ( MY ADDICTION IS GROWING). RESPLENDENT RECTANGLES I HAVE USED SO MUCH IT IS NEVER OFF MY DESK. SUCH A HANDY SIZE. i WOULDNT HAVE THOUGHT TO USE THE YELLOW ON THE MAT AND LAYERS BUT PICKS UP THE SUNFLOWER BEAUTIFULLY. FAB JOB
BORN AGAIN SPELLBINDER
