Wednesday Weekly Card Giveaway (Triple Stamping)

Hello crafters!  It's a triple stamping technique card for the giveaway this week so I hope you like this one!  It is one of my favourites from the Justrite Christmas shows.  To do this technique, you need to cut three pieces of card that are sized so that the largest one is on the bottom, up to the smallest one on the top.  Then cut matching mats for them, but don't attach them until after the stamping has been done.  I decided to add a little twist to the technique by covering each of the layers with Iced Snow (seeing they were snowflake stamps, I thought it only fitting that I "iced" them!).  I put a piece of sticky tape between all the layers to hold them in place before stamping. Using the Justrite snowflake and three colours of Adirondack ink pads (Clover, Pool and Denim), I stamped the snowflakes so that they went off of all of the layers in the different colours.  I carefully took the layers apart then covered each one with a sticky adhesive sheet, peeled the backing off then coated them with Iced Snow.  For the middle and bottom layer, I added a piece of copy paper to the very centre before coating it with the Iced Snow so I only needed to do the exposed edge areas.  I taped the mats on to each layer then added mounting foam between them.  The mats cover the void left from where the stamp cannot get to the area between the layers so your eye picks up a complete image.  I stamped my sentiment and the Snowflake Labels Seven in Cobalt Archival ink then cut it out with the matching die. While still in the die, I inked it with the Pool Adirondack ink.  I used a decorative die from the Tranquil Moments die as a pretty piece peeking from under my sentiment.  The sides of the piece were cut straight prior to mounting it underneath.  The card was finished with a flatback pearls and a double white mat with a pierced layer and a thin cobalt blue mat.  The finished dimensions are 7 1/4" x 8 1/4" in size.  If you would like to be included in the drawing for this one, just leave a comment!  The winner will be announced on Saturday's blog post!  All for now, Sue x

Hi Sue. I love your Triple stamp cards, I must to have a go myself as I love the wonderful effect! This snowflake stamp is perfect for this one, and the colours are beautful too. Great tip about not wasting your Iced Snow, thank you. Would you and Julia consider coming to Oxford Swindon area next year. I am not sure why but we have a big shortage of craft shops and it goes without saying that we would love to see you two : )
Pam, sending my daily hugs, do you have to wear a funny shoe that means you can only put your heel to the floor, for the 6 weeks or just no putting your foot to the floor at all? Fingers are still firmly crossed for more progress with Robbie.
Norah, so pleased that you enjoyed your time with Frances. Please don't ever stop your imagination from running away, your descriptions of your hills make my day that bit brighter as I can imagine what they look like each day : )
Sending hugs to all in need and all of my special blog friends.
Take care.

morning Sue
A beautiful and festive gift today. I love snowflakes and never tire of trying to catch them to see if I can catch the patterns. (You'd think that at my age I'd know better but no there's still that little girl in me that used to love playing in the snow and sledging wherever I could - those were the days). I've still now opened my jar of iced snow yet but my fingers are itching so it won't be long.
I had an update yesterday from my daughter re her 'hospital' list. She has released 3 ducks (mallard and tufted) 1 pigeon has started a slow release with the squirrel who had been found by a lady when very small and kept it as a pet. It may be too late now but she is trying. On the sad side she has lost one of her hens to old age and one pigeon which just died. Birds are notorious to just doing this. On the intake she has taken in 1 mallard which has been attacked by some animal and a clutch of baby sparrows which were found at the bottom of a tree and no sign of an adult anywhere.
Lynda Happy birthday have a really good day.

Hope all who are not 100% feel better day by day. Take care and I'll see you tomorrow.

Morning Sue and all Wilsonettes, hope you have all woken up to a bright warm sunny day.
I too remember this from your C weekend and slapped a dirty great blue K next to the recording, as I do ALL your show's so at least I can waych and learn again and again. Im determind to improve if its the last thing I do !
A snowflake with no twinkle isnt a snowflake, so it was only good manners to add iced snow LOL the more the better in my C rule book !
Only I end up with more twinkle than my cards and like those pesky flakes, it follows me around (no hiding when using twinkles) !!
On that note, Id love your twinkles to follow me round so for myself and all Wilsonette I wish us good luck for Saturday.

Happy Birthday Lynda.
Gentle soothing hugs for you Pam.
Hope Bubble n Sqweek arnt too sore Tina E

And to all lovelies out in Sue land I send caring gentle hugs to help you through your day.

Hi Sue
A simply stunning card. I had a go at doing this technique a couple of months ago with flowers on paper though. It didn't look very good on paper but using the snowflakes looks wonderful. So I shall have another go and try the iced snow on it. I have the diamond sparkles, so must look for this one. Perhaps at Newbury show on Sunday.
I actually managed to what one of the Christmas shows and bought this one, but will have to wait at least a week before it's dispatched. Mrs B how on earth did I miss your post yesterday, seeing as it was just above mine. I did so back and saw your post and posted about 9.00 ish. Anyhow I said perhaps we could meet up in Witney next Wed for a coffee. If you'd like to suggest where and the time which suits you best we could meet outside. Hugs to Pam, Norah and Steph as per usual. Wouldn't it be lovely if Sue or Julia could come down this area. There must be other people on this blog around this area to make it worth while.

Hi Sue, this was probably my favourite card from your shows. I think this technique is just class. I've tried it myself with different stamps and it turned out really well. I need to try it with the extra bling though because that really adds such an extra dimension. I'd so love to win this one!

Hi Sue,
I saw this on the TV and I wondered how you'd managed to match the layers up so precisely - now I know! I'm definitely trying this technique out, I must get my hands on some iced snow - it's so beautiful, especially on dark blue card like another of your cards! Lovely card as always, and I'd love to win it. I love blues and greens together, I'm not a pink person. If anyone knows of a cure for sticking quilled blooms on every card, I'd love to hear it ;-). By the way, can't wait to hear tales of your road trip with Julia! Love Caroline xx

Good morning Sue and fellow Wilsonettes,
This is the one card i did get to see you make in peace and quiet Sue and i think it is lovely. There is a lad that went to school with my daughter who is a Witness, so i always have sent him a different type of card at the Christmas season as i always felt sorry wee Ryan couldn't get any cards and this would be a lovely one now he is all grown. I will say though if this came winging my way, it certainly wouldn't be given away, so i will just make him one of his own.
OK, who was telling Sue as she did the video "Sue, you've forgotten a corner", no, no-one else, so just me telling her this morning when watching yesterdays video and she heard me, because she said in the next breath about it. I have looked at the different stamps that you have for the dies and really couldn't decide, but the one on yesterdays card i think is definitely going to be the first, as it is so pretty.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY LYNDA, i hope you have a wonderful day flower and enjoy it.
Pam, wise words and wisdom are not normally associated with me, but i hope that you are being able to pass what can seem like forever taking your mind off your pain. You've seen C&C advert for the weekender's that they have with you having your flask and sandwiches already so that you don't miss a thing, well just imagine that is the reason for being seconded to your settee. I hope that your pain subsides soon though flower, so take it easy. I always look it when i have to behave that it is my brain saying "Well if you wont sit down, i'll make you", so if you have to be in one place, you may as well enjoy it as much as you can.
Aha Clare, there was us thinking it was the golf you were going for and here it is the after match aperitifs that is pulling you to the club. Have a great day flower, and i hope you win.
Janet(Ecco)- why lose those care free days of being young just because you have aged. I love the snowflakes and snow for the same reasons and making "angels" in the snow, which from seeing films our American friends know all about Snow Angels. In our first house when i was wee, we had a big old staircase that had 3feet either side of a 6foot runner. We used to get my mums metal trays and come down the stairs on them. Mum wasn't too pleased when her trays turned out all bent, but it was fun. It had a big winding bannister that we used to polish for her, sliding down it to the bottom and because it just curled around, you didn't get a sore thump on your back from the knoll end piece, you got sore bottom from landing on the stone floor. Did it stop us? What do you think? But i'm sorry that some of your daughters patients didn't respond to their treatment.
Lynne, i hope you feel like yourself again soon. I am missing what Tilly and Cully are upto with their latest demolition antics. Have you ever thought of putting them up for hire as garden demolishers? It could bring in a much welcomed extra income.
Hi Lee, i hope that Julie can be back with us again soon Lee, but i am sure as an honorary Wilsonette you are very welcome to join in Sue's blog. Sorry that Julie is going through a rough time again, i can only hope that she is better soon.
Well it looks like someone has been out with their charcoals with the sky and hills like they are today, but that is ok as it is nice otherwise.
Sending gentle hugs to all our friends that need them,
Love and crafty hugs
Norah (Glenochil)

Hi Sue and everyone. I watched you make this card on C&C and decided I must give it a try. I've always believed that I couldn't do stamping although I do lots of other crafty disciplines. Thanks to Chloe Endean I've now decided that I can (and will). I love this card and as my stamps are now here I will be setting myself down to have a go as soon as I get a minute. Just loving learning and playing with my new stamps, inkpads and of course sparkly pretty glitter. Love your demos, you make it look so easy that it makes me have a go. Such an inspiration. I will be following your blog now and look forward to getting to know some of your lovely followers. Wishing everyone all the best and happy crafting xx

Fabulous card, love the triple stamping, colours and snowflakes.Thank you Sue for everything you making for us to see and give us great inspirations every day. As I have not a craft room all my things are stacked all around the bedroom and on windowsill. With the warm weather my husband decided it was good to open the window for some air.Oh my,it was a crash soon after and some words, not to be repeated, from my husband when 3 boxes full of beads, ribbons etc. fell to the floor.A real mess it was, however it's giving me a chance to a clear out I guess:) Hugs to one and all who need one. Missing to hear about Tilly and Cully, hope all is fine. Have a nice evening,Maria
