Quilted Christmas

Hi bloggers!  This one should be bright enough to get you going for a Monday morning, I would think!  I really like this one as it is quite different from the usual Christmas type cards, but yet traditional in it's colour.  I used the Justrite Quilted Blocks background stamp and stamped it twice.  Both times using a Clear Perfect Medium pad, but once on Ruby Red card then heat embossed with True White detail powder and the second one on red card but heat embossed with clear powder.  I used the white embossed piece as a whole for my background, then cut the other one up into squares.  I added some mounting foam then placed them on top of the background in every other square to form a quilted look.  I stamped the "flower" from the Christmas Applique set by Justrite twice on to red card using a clear Perfect Medium and white embossed it.  I hand cut both of these and offset them and glued them together, adding a clear Mini Dazzler for the centre.  I stamped my sentiment on to vellum and added it across the centre of the card, using the flower to cover the end and the glued area.  For the border, I did my Paved Pearl Technique (tutorial at the top of the blog) using Cosmic Shimmer white PVA glue dots.  I did a bit of matting with the red card and finished with a final white mat to balance the card.  Finished dimensions are  6 1/2" x 7 1/2" in size.  All for now, Sue x

Good Morning Sue and fellow Wilsonettes, hope you've all woken up to a bright, sunny day :-)

Today's card looks very modern and different. I've just ordered this background stamp :-)
I like the way you've used the flowers from the Christmas Labels One stamp set ( which is on my wish list ) and the way you've stamped the sentiment onto vellum Sue.

Have a good day Sue and everyone, and hugs to all who need them ((( )))

A very modern gift for Christmas today. Although I do prefer a very traditional theme. today's gift would work for birthdays etc and particularly for those pesky males we have to provide for at times.
I have an Anniversary card to make for the end of this month and can see that today's gift would work as their colours were red/white.
Have two birthday cards to make today and then I really must get down to Christmas although I have done a few gift tags (35 up to now).
Good luck for today Cam. I'll have everything crossed for you.

Hope everyone had a really good weekend. Take care and I'll see you tomorrow.

Yeeeep, very awake lol. Morning Sue and all Wilsonettes. It's definatly a WOW card today - Wonder Of Wilson. This is one of the reason's we all come back day after day, month after month, year after year, to see what 'different' delights we are in for and you never fail to amaze us with your idea's. I dont know how you can look at a few sheets of card, stamps and embossing powders and make them into something the likes of us would possibly never think of (I apologise if I have under edtimated my friends talants in Sue Land) but its something totally different everyday of the year ! I suppose stamps are a little similar to clothes in a way (those thinking of rubber clothing - please close the door quietly, your on the wrong blog) !!! LOL what I meant is, that sometimes things look better off the hanger, stamps dont always 'do it' for us until we see them included into a card, that turns them into something beautiful, and all the new C stamps and folders etc are exceptionally beautiful this year, but SO difficult to choose from (unless you are lucky enough that you dont have to choose) or are friendly with your bank manager !! : 0
Anyway, I like all other friends here just cant WAIT to see what you have for us tomorrow Sue. I hope you had a wonderful weekend with your Tour De Craft Sue and all that shared it with you, I hope you ALL had the best weekend ever, and my eye's are slightly green I must admit, but a nice shade of envious green : )

GOOD LUCK Cameeli, stubby little fingers kinda crossed in a weird funny way, but at least I try LOL hope your 'different' interview goes well, as per, keep us posted.
To all sister Wilsonettes that feel delicate or in a body 30+ years older than your actual age, Im with you, so know how many gentle hugs would be nice today, to Pam and family hugs to you all and hoping Robbie has made a slight improvement since your last info you told us about - that makes NO sense grammer wise but you know what Im trying to say better than I do at this time of day LOL !
Wishing for you all a lovely day. I may try and craft after my tummy consultant appointment, if my hands feel more comfortable, as its my day long infusion tomorrow so I can kiss Tuesday farewell !!!
Hugs to all.
Love you.

Good morning Sue and fellow Wilsonettes,
WOW Sue, you forgot to tell us to put on the sunglasses first. I love the flower that you have made for the card as it is beautiful. I think i need to put that set on my need list. I like the patchwork design but would need to make it different from the red and white. I can do red and cream but can't do red and white(it comes from mum's work days where you couldn't take red and white flowers into a patient as it was a sign of death to the nursing profession so they would always pinch a flower from someones vase to change the configuration of the flowers).
Tina - you are going to enjoy that laughter, humour and smile even more when you do see your lovely son. It is hard to see that the now but he will be back and you will see just how much your boy has grown in personality and the good thing about it is, that his mum is always there with waiting arms, hugs and love when ever he needs it.
Tandy, love doesn't stop when they are gone, it just gets stronger. It is still way too early for you. There will come a time when you can look on these treasured memories with love and the stories that they pertain to, but it is not yet. It will get easier, you never forget, but you will start to live again, but it takes time.
Myra, so glad that you had a lovely day with good company, a lovely meal and good weather that you could enjoy your surroundings, what more could you ask for on what seems perfect.
Oh WheelyBad, did Mr WheelyBad find your glasses? I do sympathise with you over the weather causing the body to go into wee paddies because it's unhappy. Mines does that too and it doesn't have to be because of the weather, but just because it decides its going to play up on me. I would say a good massage but sometimes that just makes things worse, so it's grin and bare it until the tablets kick in.
Cameeli flower, take deep breaths and tell yourself you can do this and you can. Don't rush yourself into haste answers, give a full an accurate account of the problem and how to solve it. Who knows, you might meet some lovely people who are just as nervous as you(but don't tell them anything that could give you advantage points)that sounds mean but having been in similar situations they are just looking to see where they can score point off of you. I have every faith in your ability to do this as do the rest of your blogland friends.
Well i can report that i now have a downstairs WC and it works. Just needs the new door and papered to finish it off nicely. What a difference it is going to make to me as i'm quite sure that is why i am so small, all the walking up and down the stairs is rubbing away at my feet. It's going to be great that i don't need a 10 minute head start to get up the stairs. And, hubby got laminate for the front porch as well as the toilet AND both are laid the same day as they were bought, now that is a surprise.
Well it was nice this morning until i put on a dress and you can guess the rest can't you. So all you see is black ominous shapes lingering in the back ground today, my hills are definitely in a bad mood.
Sending gentle hugs to all our fragile friends that need just that wee bit extra.
Steph my wee Lancshire rose, take it easy tomorrow flower as it takes so much out of you. Sending big squishy hugs to you.
Love and crafty hugs
Norah (Glenochil)

Lynne you have left everyone thinking that the local asylum has let one of its patients out in me, come on back me up here. In desperate need of the furbabies antics and how our beautiful stallion and foals are getting on. Miss you guys,

Hi Sue
I'm late today as I did two shifts at school today, ad one of the teachers wanted to go and see her son in his schools sports day. Good job as his card has just brightened up my day as it's now pouring with rain here in Witney. Loving the quilted blocks and the background done with the PVA glue. Cameeli go knock me dead girl, I'm sure your lovely bubbly personality will win the day. I've everything crossed for you as we all will today. I think I'm glad I have finished work now, it didn't seem this hard in my day. Norah can you give us some tips on how you got hubby to lay your flooring so quickly. I'll pass them on to my stepdaughter for her partner. A playroom was going to be build, the breeze blocks are three high up. As the 6mth old is now 18, she's been waiting that long. As the youngest of 4 is now 10 it's way to late. An extension to the loft is at least 6 yrs in the waiting and still counting. A wrap around is now on the cards but by the time he thinks about it all the 4 girls will have left home and won't be required. Kitchen diner needed decorating for the Christmas before last and that had Christmas paper put up then. My list could go on forever, so any tips Norah are welcome. Hope your hills are feeling like bursting out all overs son. I had a lovely time Mrs B and Sandra at Newbury. Not to busy at all Sandra, plenty of room for wheelchairs. Hugs to Pam, Steph Norah and Cameeli as usual and anyone else in need of one today.

Hellooooo Sue and the Wilsonettes! Ooooo Sue it was a "wow" moment when I saw this card. It is gorgeous. I knew it reminded me of something and then saw Bridget mentioned Nordic and it hit the nail on the head! Love the vibrant red and white, the flower and the soft look of the velum with the sentiment on. I'm going to experiment a bit with velum for a few Christmas cards, because it looks lovely. "Thank you" Sue! Hope you are fine and that you and everyone had a lovely time at the weekend. It's lovely because you can put a face to the name. Sending love and hugs to you, Lynne, Yorkielass, Lynda, Pam, Lyndsey, Julie, Tina, Lancs steph for tomorrow, cameeli, hope you went on ok today, Ivonka hope your daughter landed safely in the States! Sending more love and hugs to our wonderful Wilsonettes who have needed one today and there'll be plenty left over for you all tomorrow! Take care everyone xx Love Karen xx

Beautiful card Sue, I know a lot of people don't like red and white, I was a nurse and we didn't like the colours due to it being a sign of death as Norah said. I would add a little touch of another colour to sort that.

Hi Sue and everyone,
Very late have been at younger daughters most of the day and her internet was down - so I could not comment.
Lovely card, love the concept but think I would be tempted to add another colour. Many years ago I was (when you could) taking flowers to mother in law who was in hospital, I selected red and white, it was the florist who said you must add another colour or change your choice of colours, it was blood and bandages. That comment has stayed with me all these years!
Take care, love Brenda xxx
