Wednesday Weekly Card Giveaway

Hello my crafty friends!  I thought that I would make my first demo card from Sunday  a Wednesday giveaway.  I think it is such a pretty card, that periwinkle and white just sings to me!  I started by stamping a piece of periwinkle card using the Justrite Twisted Fleur background stamp inked with Clear Perfect Medium.  I heat embossed it with True White embossing powder.  I cut down three sides of the card, leaving a bit at the bottom edge.  I cut a wide strip of coconut white card and embossed it using my new Pinpoint folder called Rows Of Bows.  I added this piece to the bottom edge of the background then cut an Italian border out of periwinkle card and glued it across the join area.  I added small 3mm white pearls to the border as embellishments.  For the focal element, I cut the Hollywood die in white using the insert and the outer cutting edge.  I mounted it on a piece of periwinkle blue card that I cut with just the outer cutting edge to the die.  It provided a perfect matching shape and allowed the blue to show through the pretty decorative white die cut.  I mounted it with foam on the stamped background.  Using the stamp from the Rose Bouquet set by Justrite, I stamped it on to periwinkle card with a perfect medium pad and heat embossed it with white powder.  I cut it out with the matching Vintage Labels Two die, stamped my sentiment in black in the centre and mounted it with foam in the middle of my die cut.  I made a flower out of the white crochet ribbon by using the ribbon rose method at the top of my blog.  I seated the rose on white tulle and added a few fern trio leaves around it.  I finished the card by piercing the edge of a white mat layer using my piercing ruler to frame it.  A thin blue mat then a wider white mat finished the card off nicely.  If you would like to be included in the drawing to win this one, just leave me a comment!  I will announce the winner on Saturday's blog post.  Finished dimensions are 6 3/4" x 8" in size.  All for now, Sue x

Morning Sue and everyone, lovely card today, gorgeous.
Steph, you and Norah and you keep us happy and amused with your posts, please dont think about changing them.
Margaret, my heartfelt symathies on the passing of your father-in-law. What a grand old gentleman he must have been and you have done him proud. Thank you for wanting to send Robbie a message, not sure how you will get it to me but let me know what you think.
Sure it is someones birthday today but the old grey matter must be stuck in the pink plaster and I cant think of the name (sorry) but happy Birthday to you.
You are right ladies, it is murder in this heat, leg feels like it has a thermal bandage weighted to it.
Tina, hope you passed muster at the doctors.
Hugs to all Wilsonettes who feel the need and take care

Hi Sue and all the Wilsonettes
I loved this card when I saw it on Sunday and could do different colours to suit my friends, I have the bow embossing folder as next on my to buy list and hopefully my checkerboard one will arrive today, might have to teach hubby to use my GC so that he can do some bits for me to have a play with until I can get back to crafting.
My visit to the Doctor went well he said its a waiting game for things to settle down but if it gets worse to get back in touch and ringing the physio up today to see if they can offer any help, so thank you all for all your messages looking forward to being able to sit at the computer to read all the comments as my phone only has a small screen and after only a few comments it keeps closing the page very frustrating.
Love and big hugs to all the Wilsonettes
Happy crafting

morning Sue
What a very beautiful gift for any lady of any age - How pleased would I be to have this come through my letterbox.
Today's colour scheme is just perfect; today's format shows off both your dies and your new folder to a T. Your new set of folders will be waiting for me when I return to the UK as postage from C&C to here is ridiculous.

Norah and Steph - we all need a place to rant sometimes and where better than within this wonderful blog of Wilsonette Sisters. We all are crafters and so support each other in so many ways that others just could not understand. We are all here to receive inspiration and to learn new techniques from our No.1 Lady of Craft and along the way collect a wonderful group of friends.a

Sandra - missed you yesterday -

We are still in the doldrums here in Burgundy - the weather forecast was for Summer to return today for the next 5/6 days but still no sunshine this morning and it's overcast with a stiff breeze - just like Autumn. I think someone stirred the weather calender the wrong way round this year. The farmers need a good period of dryness to finish off the harvest.

There that's my moan for today so back to a happy face for anyone who needs one and hoping all are feeling a little better today.
Take care and see you tomorrow.

Morning Sue and Wilting Wilsonettes ! It was really kind of you to bring such lovely weather back from Florida Sue like we requested, but enough now, tooo much for tooo long lol, I promise im not ungrateful, but with my meds, I actually have to stay out of the sun as I come out in an itchy rash and are running out of shady places to go to walk the hound !! Are we EVER satisfied with our weather ?! Lol. Hoping Burgundy is getting some of this for our sister Wilsonette !
I love this colour combo and watched in ore when you took us step by step on Sunday. I must admit though Sue that although I love the vutsie crochet ribbon flower Id end up throwing it up the wall in tears and frustration, then Id rip the wall paper cuz that red backed tape is mighty strong, I just know that my 'stubbie' finger wouldnt feel the ribbon, its a useless little digit and has no feeling lol just there being no use to me one bit, so not only would I not feel it, I wouldnt be able to 'pinch n turn' so Id have a clump of croche ribbon plonked on the side as a blob of an embelishment, not the right effect - agree ? Lol but I love your handmade bows Sue, and your pretty little bow EF is so cute : ) yep, all in all a beautiful card, thank you. Good luck everyone.
Tina im glad your teport from Gp visit was 'ok' but you must be going crazy with the length of time its taking you poor thing. I know what you mean about phone blogging, I could dance on this when Im ready to hit publish button and the screen goes blank grrrr !
Margaret. Have sent a personal email xx

Utterly gorgeous! I can't find anything I don't like today. The whole card has a fabulous 'balance' so there are areas like the white bit for the eye to rest then some detail to contrast.

Hi Sue, well what a stunner. Really really love the periwinkle blue card. As has been said already the card has a real "Wedgewood" feel to it. I received your new embossing folders yesterday and can't wait to start playing with them. Anyone would be proud to receive such a lovely card, to stop any arguements just send it to me hehe lol lynne m x x x

Getting really edgy now as poochies still just lying around, I know they're feeling the heat but I'm more concerned that the longer it takes them to get back to their normal mischief the more they will get up to, to make up for lost time. Norah will definitely then need to rescue me from the locked wards.

Margaret C O - gentle hugs to you x x
Pam - hugs for Robbie and you x x

To June, Lindsay, Karen, Lynda, Alison , Norah, Steph, Cameeli, Maria, Tres, Angela, Barbara, Mrs B, Myra, Sandra- massive hugs and lol from pesky critters x x

If anyone would like to offer to have my two fur babies for a few days when the weather breaks my mind would be grateful cuz I know once the mischief starts back up I will lose what sanity I have hehe x x x x

To all stay cool and have a good day x x x lol

TO THE LOVELY WILSONETT LADYS
Well I got my puppy lee surprise me with her
She's 11 weeks old and so lovely,
She's a toy poodle mixed with a bichon frise, black with a little white stripe underneath her chest,
She had her jabs yesterday, and can't go out for 3 weeks, she's so funny and very playful, you know I have Sophie my white toy poodle who's 7 when I got ill she went all for my husband and doesn't bother with anyone els, she's I bit put out with the new one, but the vet told us to give Sophie lots more attention than the puppy, if any one can help, at what age do you start training the puppy at, as 7years ago I had all my children at home and they were a great help, my 2 daughters are married now, so there's only me lee and my 17 year old son who's more bothered about driving lol so any help would be very appreciated thank you,

Good morning Sue and fellow Wilsonettes,
What a beautiful card Sue, i love the blue and white pattern on dishes and this is what it reminds me off. I love the blue so much that i used all of it from the 5 colour bundle. I wonder if C.E. will do some of the colours separately as some are a go to on numerous occasions. I have ordered up your new embossing folders as i think they are so pretty especially the dotty line with the bow to break it up.
Oh what a lovely day we have up here in the Wee County today so it is bath time for a few favourite "people" from my childhood while they can go up on the whirly gig and dry in the sun. I made a book card for my friends’ wee granddaughter the other day from Grand Labels 4 die & labels 4. I made it a little girls rainbow using the soft colours instead of the bright ones and her granny loved it so just hoping the wee one loved it. I put a castle with a sea of daisies around its feet, ballet shoes, a tutu with pink satin lace, butterflies and all sorts of pretty girly things on the pages so that it was something different by each page and topped it with her name being on bunting across the smallest. I had lots of fun making it as her granny didn't specify what just something girly. I made a box for it with an opulent ovals die cut with a "mirror" behind it and lots of daisies with different coloured stones in the centres.
Jim and i had climbed one of the big trees in our garden and was hanging upside down from the branch by our ankles. Mum came out and took 40 hairy fits and shouted at us to get down. So we did, head first down the rope of the swing that was tied to the tree. After checking us out to make sure we weren't hurt she larupped us with her hand telling us not to do that again as it had given her such a fright. I don't know who hurt most, our behinds or her hand. Did it stop us? No, up we would go again but just were quicker off the mark on hearing footsteps approaching, our hearing improved greatly that summer, fun times.
Have fun Mrs B with Pat and Sandra, i bet it will be like you have always known each other which is the very best. ENJOY YOURSELVES GIRLS.
You mean Nanna Tina that you haven't introduced him to your GC and how it works? You have one that will do things for you, take full advantage and make use of him while you can. It will keep both your spirits up, him thinking he is helping, you thinking "he's used too much card or cut it out the wrong way" but it is nice that i can do at least some of my card making. I hope that you get some help at the doctors today and they can do something for your pain and ease it somewhat.
Cameeli, are you sure that you are going to be that age and not just 21 with 31 years experience? I hope that you have and absolutely fabulous time and enjoy everything about it flower.
Janet, i am trying to wish some of the beautiful sun across to your side of the channel as well. We are sort of getting sporadic moments of lovely weather and then it waits until i have typed that and sent it and then it changes to a winters day again so fingers crossed that it stays a wee while.
Steph, you can come up here flower for a holiday and then you have the lovely woods and the countryside literally on the doorstep. We have lovely parks not 10minutes from the door that little Miss Cassie would love.
Oh Anne, how lucky are you to live in such a pretty place like Gairloch.
Have a fabulous day everyone with gentle hugs going to all our fragile friends, with thoughts going to wee Robbie and Pam, who still has all the veg chopped ready for her very own hotpot,
Love and crafty hugs
Norah (Glenochil)

Hello Sue,

We are on our last school run today until September, as the little one breaks up for the summer holidays today. And next week the family are away for their annual holiday, so will be childfree for two weeks, (we will miss them)
Have a lovely day, Love Brenda xxx

Mrs B. Sandra and Pat S, what time in Whitney.

Nanna Tina, do your family and ask you if there is a special gift you would like? I suggest even if they club together you ask for an iPad, much easier than using your phone and the screens larger. Mr L bought me one over a year ago now, all the grandchildren have one he thought I would like one. BUT He would never use the computer and asked me to do all his research, whatever it would be about, now he uses the iPad, because it's so easy and fast. Brilliant I've got more time to play and do get to use it sometimes!!!

Cameeli, Happy Birthday for the 28th. It's also Eldest Daughter and son in Laws wedding anniversary also her birthday is 29th (51 this year) Have no excuse for forgetting yours have I !!!!!!!

What a FABULOUS day that was, the memories of that day will stay with me forever! You have produced another stunning card today, Sue! Hi Sue,

Think it could look good with some Itty Bitty bows as well! I love the blue and white of today's card . I had more success making crochet ribbon roses that the striped ribbon ones. First attempts went straight in the bin! Thanks Sue for bringing such joy and inspiration it is much appreciated.

Mrs B, Sandra and Pat - have a great time! Sure you will.
Anne - pleased your golf day sent well - sunshine, beautiful scenery and good friends all make for a lovely day.
Norah - you have had me in stitches today. It's a wonder you reached adulthood ! I was such a scaredy cat unless sport was involved! Your little rainbow book is an inspired idea! It sounds absolutely super. It has given me an idea for the children I work with on Mondays? Holidays now but need to plan for September. We could do a project that would take several weeks! Thanks Norah - you're a star! x hope you don't mind! x

What a wonderful surprise!
I have a 12 yr old Bichon and am hoping to get another after I get my husbands birthday out the way in Sept. I am also worried about bringing a new pup in with an older spoiled dog and don't want him to get jealous.
Are you putting papers done for the pup, keep moving them closer to the door and when you see it going to the papers take her out to do the toilet when she is allowed outside. It is never too early to start training a pup as they say what you teach it now will benefit you as it gets older. I have always found that Bichons can be stubborn but I don't know about poodles. You should always use small treats as an incentive to praise them when they do as their told. She sounds absolutely gorgeous and I wish I could see a picture of her!!!
I have told my husband when I get a pup I am going to take him to puppy classes and get some proper training as my 12 yr old is so spoilt and I don't think I could cope with two horrors!!! I think myself and LYNNE MILLS could start up a support group fro misbehaving dogs!!!!!
