Striplet Background

Hi bloggers!  This is the last video in series two! I hope you have enjoyed them.  I spent most of the week filming videos when I returned to the UK and they just need to be edited before they are loaded on to our You Tube channel.  In the meantime, this is a gorgeous card and it will show you a few ways to use the Embroidered Striplet that you may not have thought of!  I hope it will hold you over until the new Series Three videos are ready to go!  Don't forget to sign up as a subscriber to the You Tube Channel and check the box to have an email sent to notify you of new videos that have been uploaded to the channel so you can see the videos as they become available!

Finished dimensions are 7" x 7 3/4" in size.  All for now, Sue x

Stunning card Sue. I'm so sad not to be able to get to see you at Northallerton, not too far from me but unable to walk.
Spent most of day at hospital yesterday scan for DVT in leg but thankfully okay as I lost Tim with a PE.
Thank you Yorkielass June for update on Lynne and Lindsay, pass on our love.
Steph hope today goes easier for you. Norah, welldone on your new throne room.
Robbie has settled at Spaulding Rehab and is keen to start his therapy now the July 4th celebs are over, his room had the best view of the fireworks in Boston Harbour. Still no progress on feeling yet, we live in hopes. He is being very upbeat about his situation.
Love & hugs to all especially Dawn, Lynda Brock, Tres, Tandy . Cam hope yesterday went well.

Good morning Sue,
This card is so lovely and elegant - best of it, I've got all the dies and can try and make a card which is (hopefully) close to the one perfected by you.
I just love everything about it. Will watch the video a bit later on to see how it's done.
Your stick pins simply RULE OK (showing my age now......)

Hi Sue. A lovely card and you still have more ways of using one of my favourites, the embroidered striplet. Fantastic : )
Sending my daily hugs to Pam and Robbie, glad to hear that he is being upbeat.
Norah, Congratulations on the new throne room and flooring, the extra flooring was a good surprise for you wasn't it. Sorry to hear that your hills were not happy yesterday, let's hope they are sunny today.
yorkielass, thanks for letting us know about Lindsay and Lynne. As long as they are ok we can wait to hear from them.
Pat.S, Witney. Glad you had a good time at Newbury show, bet your bank manager didn't though : ) I will have to try to get there next year.
I didn't know about the "blood and bandages" flowers, thanks to all the Wilsonettes that told us about them.
Sending hugs to Sue, my special friends and all in need. Take care.

Hi Sue
Lovely card I love the striplet dies, my crafting is a struggle at the moment as I got the results of my x-ray and was not the news I was hoping for so now no more injections I have been referred to a hand surgeon to see what can be done as my osteoarthritis is now moderate to severe in both thumbs.
Love and hugs to all the Wilsonettes and hopefully I will get to watch video later.
Happy crafting everyone

Cameeli OMG wot a day! Whatever happened to just an interview? Someone in our family went for a lower level clerical job with the local authority and had to go through something similar - didn't get it but then another super job came her way.

Wonderful card Sue! and a great Video, I don't have the dies used in this demo , so must have a look and see what I could substitute with, I have the other striplet so will check if that would work, I love the deep pink crystal stick pins on your sample card they are gorgeous!
Golf day today and friends coming tomorrow for a few days so I'd better get a move on.
Glad yesterday went well for you Cameeli, fingers crossed!

Your striplet dies are so versatile I love what you've done with them on today's card. Without question your stick pins are amazing thanks for showing us how to make them at Haverfordwest. I will watch your video later we are meeting my sister and brother in law early then off sightseeing.
Gail I am so sorry to hear of your brothers passing sending you a massive hug. I know how your mum is feeling because I've been there give her a hug from me.
Cameeli glad your interview went well I remember having similar interviews the presentations etc were ok but how I hated role play lol

Morning Sue, This card is stunning, I was interested how you have used the striplet die-cuts, especially the one with the focal element, it actually marries up with the edges of the background ones, really beautiful soft colours too, and those ribbon roses and faux quilled leaves, together with the fabulus stick pins, finish this card off beautifully.
Lots of love fromm Patricia xx

Dear Pam, huge hugs being sent to you and your family, and prayers and best wishes for Robbie.

morning Sue
What a fantastic way to finish your second set of videos.
Today's gift just has to be one of my most favourite ones.
I too love the embroidered striplet and find myself using it over and over. I humd and hawd when deciding which striplet to buy but I know I chose the right one.
I have firmly fallen in love with white on white with just a little pop of colour and for me I don't care how much girlie girlie my cards are girlier the better (have I just added another word to my own dictionary).
Pam so pleased scan came back OK and that Robbie is keen for the off in reh. Yes it's a long haul but I'm sure he will succeed.
Cameeli - sounds as though you had a good day. So have everything crossed now for the next five days for you.
Norah - how do you do it!! I know I have a wonderful man but he's a Virgo sign and we have to have everything drawn up and to scale at least 5 times before he can even start. I have to admit everything looks wonderful when finished but oh it's that drawing board and paper to start that gets at me. So please let me know.
Steph hope today goes OK and you will be firing on all cylinders after your infusion.
It's the big monthly market today in Corbigny (that's our nearest town) where they close all the streets and the market takes over. So hoping I'll find some bargains and crafty ones also.
Hope everyone is OK - take care and I'll see you tomorrow.

Hi Sue
What a gorgeous offering you have given us today. Loving the strip let die, will have to have a look for it. Will have to watch the video later as I have a hot date with 30 children today. Had a lovely afternoon with Foundation stage yesterday afternoon. They were really confused though as they thought it was make up Monday not tricky Tuesday. Lovely names they have made up for each day. Mind you they say I'm like tricky Monday as when I test their words that they have to learn with them I skip all over the columns to make sure they actually have learnt the words. Glad your interview wasn't to traumatic Cameeli and my fingers are crossed for you. Hugs to Pam and Robbie and I'm glad his treatment will now start. Hope you hills are feeling better this morning Norah, and that your feeling better today Steph. I bought a whole set of pens Mrs B so the bank manager will not be very happy with me. as well as some new stamps and small ink pads. Hopefully I won't be way next year and I can go.

Morning Sue and all Wilsonettes.

Gail c. Along with many other friends here I send my love to you and your family. I wont say all the 'usual' things but I will say its a time you were all dreading and now it wont feel true, no matter how much you try and prepare yourself, disbelief sets in. Take the long hard road ahead in baby steps and dont expect to much from yourself. In the meantime, our love and thoughts go along side you. Remember Bill Withers very appropriate song - Lean On Me xxx

Mrs W - I cried when you covered up the striplet, how could you lol. Time to design a 'peek a boo ' die collection to use as a small but decorative border so we dont lose all the delicacy and intracut details under a mat. Anyway, a stunningly delicate card and as I can now use my Italian border die, and have the striplet I can try and do something similar. I wouldnt insult you by trying to replicate it as Im nowhere up to standard - yet !
Thank you for the last set of vids, they have been so helpful.
My appointment came as a shock as my 'condition' has got worse since my last MRI a couple of years ago, and he wont rule out surgery yet - (no wedding cake for him) lol he's such a fab consultant and his first greeting was - did you cry and can I see some photo's ! Then he winded me with that news lol bless him.
Anyway, today is a waste of a craft day so roll on tomorrow !
Pam sending love n hugs as I do my love.
And to Tina E hope you get something sorted today - go get em !!!
All for now.
Love you.

Apologies to all for not being on the blog for awhile but I have been poorly and am ashamed to say that it got me down enough to feel sorry for myself. I am slowly improving and hope to be back to normal ( whatever that is soon)

Devious divas must have realised yesterday that mum was feeling better cuz chaos reigned as usual, they had been ok ( won't say good cuz with me they never are)they decided that after watching hubby's Great Escape film so many times they would recreate some of it. Well I've found the start of Tom and Dick tunnels but I am unable to locate Harry just like in the film. I'm sure the little b's will dress up in camouflage gear one evening and try to escape out the back garden. If you hear on the news that there is a mad woman running around the streets of Southampton then you'll know its me chasing the mighty menaces ( they are getting quite a few nicknames lately - wonder why???)

I have managed to read a few posts and therefore would like to say -------

Hi Sue,
This is your two-fer for today! I've just watched the video and my next job is to get a striplet die because, as you say, it's possible to use it in a variety of ways.
I've been to Eleanor's class ukele concert - eat your heart out George Formby! There's nothing quite like 33 ukeles all going hammer and tongs at the same time!!
I have just been reading all the comments and it struck me how wonderful this blog of yours is. It gathers all your followers together and we support each other through health, job, bereavement and other troubles.
Gail - I send my sincere sympathies at the loss of your brother. I lost one of mine 32 years ago and he was one of the kindest, nicest men you could meet.
Alimecca, Alison - George put up a shelf with great huffing and puffing and fanfare. I put some books on it and an hour later there was an almighty crash! His remark - well you shouldn't have put anything on it!!! My son-in-law came to the rescue.
This blog is getting too long so I'll leave it at that but enjoyed reading all your blogs. Will pop in again tonight before I go to bed.
Love to Sue and all xx

The video was fab and so easy to follow, looking forward to the new series.

LYNNE MILLS so glad to see you back, have missed hearing about the menaces!!! Hope you are feeling better.
My friend and I took our dogs a walk in the local field yesterday she has two mini dachshunds and I have a Bichon. One of the dachshund's decided to eat a dead bird while the other had its eye on dog pooh which they both love!!!! my boy Ben who has arthritis in his knee decide to chase a westie and came back limping. I sometimes wonder why we take them out together as something always happens. The joy of having dogs!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi, Sue and fellow Wilsonettes.
Today's card is truly beautiful Sue. I've just watched the video and agree with Lancs' Steph, it's a pity to cover over most of the striplet background.

Hugs and Best Wishes to Julie and Lee, Pam, Tina, Lancs' Steph and Lynne M ( nice to see you back and hope the fur babies aren't being too monstrous for you) Hope you're all feeling better soon.

Deepest sympathy to Gail C and family. I too understand something of how you're feeling.
My Father-in -Law was buried early in June.
He had an incurable condition and we knew it was only a matter of time, but it was still very upsetting when the end came, even though it was an end to his suffering too. He was fortunate to live a long life though.

Best Wishes Wilsonettes and hugs to anyone else in need ((( )))

Hi Sue, yay! I can make this! Or at least, something similar :-)
I have all the ingredients except the EF and the Californian die but I'm sure I can find suitable substitutes. All but the last picture showed on my screen as a lovely coffee and cream combination. I love the white and rose in the video but know it will work in other colourways. Thank you so much for all your videos and I'm looking forward to series 3. We all appreciate your hard work in making them for us.

Gail, so sorry for your loss, my thoughts are with you and your family.

Lynne, glad to see you back and to read of the mighty menaces' latest escapades.

A wet morning meant the housework actually got done but now the sun is shining I may be able to get outside for a little while.

Good evening Sue and fellow Wilsonettes,
What a beautiful card Sue but what a shame the beautiful embroidery striplet is being covered so much and its edge beauty is all that you can see.It was a beautiful coffee and cream to me until i looked at the bottom photograph and found out it wasn't but it gave me a beautiful view of alternate colours. I will look at the video later when i can get some peace and quiet as that noisy lot don't know the meaning of the word shhhoooist(the polite way of saying shut up, you're making a racket). Janet(Ecco) you at least after all the measuring and remeasuring you have an immaculate job done, i won't say that about mine when finished most of the time, but he's learning and i' m persevering(boy am i persevering). And there is no telling him that he is wrong until he finds out for his self that i was right all along. Cheesey wotsits it gets waring i can tell you.
Pam my flower, you are going to be fine, just lets get this time past with the heavy cast, Take it one day at a time and it will come around in no time at all. Glad young Robbie had such a beautiful view of the festivities and that he is up beat as he will need all his get up and go to get better and beat this. COME ON YOUNG ROBBIE, YOU CAN DO THIS.
Gail, i am deeply sorry that your brother has passed away. NO mother should ever out live their children and i know the pieces that i had to pick up from my dear, tormenting brother that i would so gladly have back to drive me nuts. It doesn't matter what age they are, but i am trying hard to see it as a blessing for him being out of the pain he was suffering. My heart goes out to you flower and your poor mum, sending big hugs down to you both and his family that will be going through the mill as well.
Pat S Whitney, i'm not quite sure but i think it has something to do with my daughters new set of parents and their fancy house. But, i still have a house full of start offs that haven't been completed but its wee things, not major works programme that has been abandoned mid construction. Does your Son in Law work for the local authority by any chance, as they are always on the look out for good half finishers?I know our local lot seem to have the best have hearted lot in the county. What type of pens did you buy Pat?
Ivonka, you are one brave mum letting your little girl even if she is 17 to fly all the way to America without you. I hope that your nails haven't suffered too much mauling at them through stress. I hope that the wee lass enjoys herself though when she arrives.
Cameeli, i have everything crossed for you here in the hope that you get through to the next round. I am hoping that your knowledge, spirit, determination but fun. You are a fully rounded character and that is what they need, so lets hope they see it that way also.
Dawn, my cousin came up from Peterborough at 3 in the morning so that he and his wee lad Archie who will be 10 could see this historic event. Stuart and his father and brother are all keen cyclists so its nice that the wee lad has taken to it as well. They went up to Holmfirth to see it go through.
This has turned into a 2 parter friends

Glenharon said...

2nd part
Now Clare W, did you not see the free gift in that magazine(wink wink, nod, nod) or wasn't that so lovely that your friend got you that special die that you had been longing for????
Sandra, your mind doesn't half deviate from the path the rest of us are taking some times. I have a door but it doesn't have a catch, so i have tied some string onto the outside handle from it being my wool cupboard and pull it shut as i have electricity in it as well.
Steph what a lovely man who actually remembers his patients by who they are not by a just a number. Can he not even get just a teeny bit cake as i don't know of many surgeons that take that much of an interest in their patients.
Awh Lynne, it is so lovely to see your post again. I am sorry flower that you have been going through a rough patch. I know that the deeper down i get, the so much harder it is for me to get back up kicking and fighting again. I go through your patch thankfully not that often now, but it does happen a few times throughout the year still where the inside is most definitely better to me than trying the outside world and i close right down to everyone, so i seriously do know what you go through. It is very hard to climb up from being so far down there, but here there is some of us who go through the same thing, so let us help, PLEASE flower. And anyway, i need a partner to break out of the local locked wards and your knowledge of the great escape will come in handy:)
Hi Lee, hope Julie is getting better again, we need her back up here even at half strength. I hope this latest set back will disappear shortly and our Julie will be back as near as we can get her to full strength. Sending love and hugs to her.
Maureen, that was mine a number of years back when he made a bird house for the wee lass at the time(she was about 3). He got to the last nail and it collapsed on him, the 2nd one, a bird landed on it and it collapsed where upon like any decent wife and daughter should do was laugh and couldn't stop with tears flooding down our faces. Did not go down all that well and even yet 19years on it is still not an approachable topic.
Well now that i have totally taken over your blog today Sue, i hope you have had a good day. Just think you are travelling the country doing "gigs" just as the youngsters variety band do only you are a lot better in looks and on the hearing.
Sending gentle hugs to all our most fragile friends. I hope that you can see some sun shining from within soon, one day at a time eh.
Love and crafty hugs
Norah (Glenochil, where it has rained all day, but i have beautiful clean hills tonight)
