Wednesday Weekly Card Giveaway

Hello my crafty friends!  I really liked this new die called Divine Eloquence and decided to use it and do a little paper piecing with the Creative Expressions Flamenco stamp from the Singles range to create today's card.  First, I created a textured background by embossing a piece of coconut white card with the Celtic Flower embossing folder.  This one is very detailed so I recommend a light spritz of water before embossing, it helps to soften the paper's fibres so they don't crack.  I used my Cosmic Shimmer dries clear glue around the edge and added some Iced Snow for a bit of bling.  I cut the Divine Eloquence out of white card and backed it with Lilac card cut just slightly larger.  I mounted it in the centre of my embossed background with mounting foam for dimension.  I cut the smaller die as a backdrop for my gown and mounted it with foam as well.  I stamped my ball gown image onto milk card and coloured just the shoulders and neck of the mannequin and cut out thee entire image (you only have to be precise around the top, the rest will be covered with the dress).  I stamped my image again on decorative paper.  I picked a small pattern for this and cut out just the dress.  I glued the dress to the cut out mannequin to complete my paper pieced stamped image.  I mounted the dress in the middle of my die cuts.  Using the same paper that I used for the dress, I die cut several flowers using my Classic Rose die and made three flowers and added them around the stamped dress.  I added some white tulle and a pearl spray with the largest flower and seated the smaller two on the opposite side.  I finished the card with a double white mat with a pierced inner layer and three flatback pearls in the upper corner.  The finished dimensions are 7 1/2" x 8 3/4" in size.  Please leave a comment on today's post if you would like to be entered in the drawing to win this card.  The winner will be announced on Saturday's blog post.  All for now, Sue x

What a gorgeous card today Sue, I'm not a girly girl so dresses aren't normally my thing, but do like this one and the paper you used to paper piece is lovely and has just the right size par pattern, you are so clever and talented, must keep thanking your mum for this xxx
Myra, am so sorry about your kitchen, they are terrible when things start to fall apart or stop working, so hope you can get things sorted. Lynne just loved your story about your husband dancing with the girls, just wish you could video it for us all as I'm sure there are many of us that would love to have a good laugh.
Sandra I hope you don't have problems with the pills for Milo, if you do wrap him in a towel, tightly, then tilt his head up and mouth open, pop the pill in as far back into the throat as you can and then spit onto his nose, sounds revolting, but his first instinct will be to lick his nose and with that he will swallow the pill, my grandfather was a vet and this was the easiest way he found to do this, not I front of his clients though!
Tres, your poor husband, did make me chuckle though, hope it's all sorted now though. Joanna hope you got on ok with the Dr today. Julie laz, and husband, I hope you are soon back able to see, but so glad your husband is enjoying looking at Sues cards, just goes to show how many more men could be crafting! Lorraine well done on managing to get the cat and kittens in ans so pleased that mum is happy with the situation, I do hope your vets can sort something out for you or put you intouch with a charity that will, keep us informed. Norah, Pam, Alison and Lynne thank you all so much for thinking of my stallion, he is only 32" tall bless him, and this morning is much brighter, even wanted a cuddle which he hasn't wanted for a few days, we are unsure how the wire got into his field, it was so tight that you could not see it at all, it was only through putting his scissors into the wound he finally found it, another couple of days and he would definitely had to be put to,sleep, I still feel so guilty about it, bit he had been seen twice already by another vet.
Take care all, if this weather continues I will be starting my CC nice and early as it's so cold, just got a few rugs to mend for clients then I am definitely going to,settle down into them, ideas please Sue xxx

Hello Sue
Wow, what a beautiful card today and luckily I have the Divine Eloquence Die set which I have not used yet!
The colour, embossing folder and gorgeous dress stamp really give this card the Wow Factor and I can't wait to make my version with another one of your elegant dress stamps which I already have.
Anyone of us would be over the moon to have this lovely card arriving through our letterbox. Still catching up with all the cards I have missed whilst on a lovely break up in Derbyshire. Weather could have been a little better but it was still great to have the time to relax and enjoy ourselves.
Love from Lesley S
