Wednesday Weekly Card Giveaway

Hello friends!  This card isn't maybe as flashy as the ones that I usually put on offer for the card giveaway, but it is quite pretty in real life.  I hope you don't mind, but I like to change it up sometimes so that there are different styles to appeal to different tastes.  So I am hoping that you will want to leave a comment today to be in the drawing for this one!  I started with a piece of decorative paper from my stash (Teresa Collins, I believe).  I added a smaller panel that was done out of coconut white card that I embossed with the Illusion embossing folder.  I cut the largest die from the California Collection Decorative Frames Set B out of white card and inked through the die with Tattered Rose distress ink before removing it.  I stamped the sentiment from the Becca Feeken's stamp set called Friendship Vintage Labels Seven.  I cut it out with my California Collection Set A largest size.  I inked it with Tattered Rose as well and mounted it atop the other die.  For my embellishments, I stamped the Justrite daisy three times using a black archival ink pad.  I cut out only the daisy head, leaving the leaves behind.  I coloured them with Distress markers (Tattered Rose, Scattered Straw) and mounted them on foam around the lower corner of my sentiment, slightly overlapping them.  Using Cosmic Shimmer dries clear glue, I added some to eachh of the centres and sprinkled them with Diamond Snow for a bit of bling.  I cut some of the Fern Trio die and added them as well as a messy bow tied from white seam binding and white tulle.  I matted the entire piece on a double white mat and added Cosmic Shimmer white PVA glue dots around the edge as accents.  The final touch was three flatback pearls in the upper corner.  Finished dimensions are 7 1/4" x 8 1/4" in size.  I'll announce the winner on Saturday's post.  All for now, Sue x

Such delicate colouring and a pretty style, what is not to like? I spent yesterday making stained glass windows, pleased with the result and the dies are fantastic. Was surprised quite how long the glue took to dry but the final result is great. Thank you so much for sharing the idea, and of course designing the wonderful Calabria die xx

Each day I am thankful for ... waking up and seeing your lovely cards. Today's is no exception. Don't think I would ever describe any of your cards as 'flashy' - opulent, extravagant, stunning, downright gorgeous certainly but always in the best possible taste!! (An old TV joke - ask OH.)

Like Nanna Tina I don't have the stamp but do have a daisy die I could use. I love the verse another 'I need' I'll never be rich.
I hope everything went well yesterday for you Steph.

Thanks for the great video yday - the pinch and roll tip will make all the difference I think as when I've made them before using the stamp and rolled the petal edges over a brush and then assembled, without pinching and rolling, they never looked like yours did - know I now why!

Thank you for today's gift - it may not be a 'fancy' as some of your gifts but still very desirable and I am still more than happy to be a foster mum.
I love the colour scheme of today. Simple and very tender and the format is truly gentle and will fit any occasion whether with a little bit more bling or even taking the ribbon away.
Am here back in Sheffield and so today is one of those days where I have to now unpack and get everything back into place here. So no crafting for me today. I hope that there are some of my Wilsonette sisters out there who feel the same when returning home - I hate unpacking!!

Good morning Sue and fellow Wilsonettes,
Sue, we come on to your blog for our daily dose of inspiration and delight, we are NEVER disappointed no matter what the goodies that you have in store for us and today is no exception. Not everyone likes all the pigs and whistles and to get inspired to do something totally different for others is fantastic. This card is really beautiful and magical in a totally different way from normal. I think this verse is us on this blog as we do have lovely friends who are the family we would choose for ourselves. Thank you for bringing us that continuous supply of magic each day.
Steph flower, thinking of you today as i know you will be sore and worried, but please don't. Take it as easy as you can but i know from personal experience keeping as busy as able to takes your mind off the pain, but take care.
Sue C (Snow Queen) ooooh i can feel that excitement as you are waiting to go and pick up the newest member of your family. I wish you a lot of joy with your new "baby" as there is nothing like having a lovely soft head to stroke or silky ears and they love you no matter what which is lovely and so soothing and stress relieving. I wish i could take Tia out for a walk but i think i would need to be on a pair of rollerskates and just be pulled along behind, but on second thoughts, if i can't stay up straight on my own two feet, i have no chance on a pair of rollerskates. Making friends with the pavement comes to mind somehow.
Teresa(Tob), i hope your daughter has a lovely birthday today. Now as my mum would say "couldn't you have held on for another few hours" when she could have been your birthday present. I have almost 7 years bar 4 days between my children and my daughter always wanted a wee brother for her birthday. The way she seen it, i was already 3weeks overdue so what was another 4 days? I ask you, just seeing that it wasn't her with this ever expanding tummy that was pushing on everything inside. My mum wanted him to be born early so that it could be the 18th of July and easier for her to remember, as i was June and my daughter August, both the 18th so that would make it nice and simple for her to remember. The thought "yes mum, i'll do that just so that you can remember easily" came to mind and i don't think. But it was like waiting for a number 7 bus, you wait for ages and then 2 come along at once making it a very expensive week.
Well from a rainy day Glenochil (not Georgia) with the clouds having a rest on the top of the hills (I didn't realise how tiring it was being a cloud) i will wish you all my dear Wilsonettes, a great day and if the sun isn't shining above you, i hope it is in your hearts. Sending gentle hugs to our delicate friends who need them the most,
Love and crafty hugs
Norah (Glenochil)

Hi Sue, what a beautiful card. Love this set of stamps , I use mine often. It looks like the fern die will have to go on my must have list. Thanks for sharing , anyone would be delighted to win this card. Lol lynne m x x x

Spent most of yesterday on garden duty to prevent little b's from digging up bulbs and new plants. However , knew that the kitchen floor needed washing twice!!. Why twice you may ask , well every time I wash the floor ( very large L shape) my little divas sit at the back door watching me then when I have finished they run around the garden to gather up speed launch themselves through the door hit the floor and slide the length of the kitchen. The expression on their faces is priceless. This is done over and over until they have to lay down for a rest. This is when they are contained in the lounge whilst I wash the floor again. Perhaps instead of a gymnast Tilly wants to be an ice skater!!

Lynda- Annie, Bambi and even Costa-Lota ( freddy) are gorgeous. Good job Terry didn't want a snake aaarrrggghhhhhh.
Norah - wee soul her ambition !!! Tilly is so not graceful more like a bull in a china shop bless her. Sending you gentle hugs and lol hope you feel better soon x x x
Lindsay - sending you gentle hugs cuz of your poorly rib. Glad your mum's ankle is getting better.
June & Karen - hugs to you from poochies
Steph - hope all went ok yesterday.
Snowqueen - have a great first day with your puppy.

To all on this wonderful blog - hugs from my fur babies and me x x x x

Your cards are always stunning but I know what you mean. When you make them every day there are some that you feel are better than others yet all may be lovely in their own way. Today's card is no exception. I love the peach and the flowers and leaves are lovely.

You make everything look so easy on your videos. Your dies and embossing folders are a must have for me and I'm busy making a list as we speak.
Enjoy your day :-)

Hi Sue, all your cards are beautiful I don't think I've ever seen a bad one sue, I have not commented on your cards for the last couple of days, (sorry about that)
My 16 year old son has very bad asthma attack and was rushed to hospital Sunday, it was a very bad few hours waiting, then he passed out, the asthma is now under control,
Now They just can't get his heart rate down its 140 and he is on full oxygen, we now just have to wait, and I hate waiting, any way I came home for a cuppa and sat here and had a look at your cards and comments, I thought I would let all my Wilsonet family know, I will take all the HUGS that people give on this blog to my son. crafty hugs Julie xxx

Hi Sue,
How could we ever put Sue Wilson's card and boring in the same sentence? Never! The card is so soft today and gentle , the daisies and fern look gorgeous. Lovely sentiment too. Love what you've done to the centre of the flowers.
I said I'd make roses last night ! Nope - was too tired! Why do they make Care Homes so hot? Picture looked pretty good! Butterflies were coloured very imaginatively! However Sue everyone loved your flowers and leaves. Two ladies asked if they could make something to send to great - grandaughters! So we made simple cards and they were so chuffed! Thanks Sue!
Karen thanks, I did have fun x
Norah been in stitches at your tired clouds! Ours here today must be exhausted because they not moving ! x
Heather T glad you saw funny side - it just tickled me and I typed a howler fairly recently!
Happy birthday to Theresa's daughter and to you for tomorrow Teresa xx
Janet hate unpacking and all the mess that goes with it! x
Julie so sorry about your son. How worrying for you sending you both love and hugs xx
Steph - ouch that sounds painful - so sorry you have an added pain. x
That's all folks, I think!
Love to all, Myra

Good Moring Sue and Wilsonettes, hope your jaw infection clears soon Lancashire Steph, you must be in agony.
I like today's card , Sue and other cards you've shown previously using this lovely 'Hello Daisy stamp '. I've just checked, as I thought this is one I already have. I do and I've got it with me!! I have quite a few stamps now and sometimes forget exactly what I have got LOL.
I have started cataloging all my stamps, dies, ink pads etc. but is a work in progress, especially as I keep adding more.
Does anyone else have this problem ??
Best Wishes all,

I love this card-please don't ever apologize for any of your creations!
I especially liked how you inked the die cut piece behind the top sentiment layer-it adds extra depth to the card as if you had matted with another layer of paper. This would go thru the mail much easier because the flower feature is flat.
I know I could never add all those pearl dots as evenly as you, but they add so much.
Thanks for sharing--

I don't mind you doing 'less flashy' at all ;) Mind you, even your less-flashy are more flashy than most people make LOL.

Good Wednesday afternoon. Another lovely card. The California collection A & B are so useful I tend to use either one on most cards now. I have lots of stamps that I stamp and then use the die to frame the image. Kind regards Sandra Kent.
