Best Wishes

Hi guys!  Taupe, aubergine and soft gold, an unusual colour combo but I really like it together.  I stamped my sentiment from the Bold Sentiment stamp set on taupe card in the upper corner.  I used the Calabria to cut an aperture in the centre, then I cut the card on the diagonal.  I embossed the unstamped side using my Basket weave folder.  I put the pieces back together,  and taped them into place from the back, adding a border along the diagonal cut.  Using the Calabria die from the Italian collection, I cut it in soft gold card and reinserted it into the aperture.  I covered a piece of taupe card with a sticky adhesive sheet and then covered it with Diamond Sprinkles.  I glued this in place behind my aperture.  I matted the entire piece with a thin mat of aubergine card.  I cut a bunch of the Faux Quilled Blooms in taupe, milk and aubergine and assembled them, finishing with pearl centres.  I arranged the flowers around the centre of the card.  I finished the floral element with some swirls and coloured twine.  The card was completed with a double mat of taupe card with a pierced inner layer.  Finished dimensions are 7" x 8 1/2" in size.  All for now, Sue x

I hope you are well and that the weather has brightened a bit for you but at least as you say you are getting some crafting done.

I loved yesterday's video. You always come up with such clever ideas and I think to myself 'Why didn't I think of that!' As it seems so obvious when pointed out.

Today's card is lovely I love how your flower dies they are stunning.

Hi Sue. What a gorgeous card, and I love the colour combo. I love your "diagonal" cards and the way you arrange the flowers. Wish I could do it as fast as you : ) I use your videos to help speed me up. That sounds like I press fast forward and I speed up - wish that were the case sometimes, wouldn't it be fun! : ) I mean so I can copy your arrangements. Oh dear, I am going to stop trying t explain as it is getting too confusing Sue, I hope you know what I mean : )
Pam, my hug for you and thank you for Gemmas good wishes : )
A hug for all in need today including Jean, Gail and Tina. You are all in my thoughts.
Welcome to Katie T. Did your friend also tell you that you are now addicted to crafting and that there aren't enough hours in the day. Enjoy : )
Happy Birthday for yesterday Alimecca, I hope the weather improved and you got your beach walk : )
Norah, thank you for Gemmas good wishes. Your adopted Father sounds wonderful. I'm sure your children, like you, don't care that they are not blood related, they are their grandparents and that's all that matters : )
Thank you to all of you lovely ladies, Pam, Norah, Lynda, Cameeli, Sandy H, Yorkielass, Myra P, Magpie and Lyndsay M (and anyone else that I have forgotten) for Gemmas good wishes.
Have a good, if wet, day everyone. Take care.

Morning Sue and everyone
I couldn't write on here yesterday as we had to be up at 4am as my husband has racing pigeons and we run a marking station for The National Flying Club. The race is from France this week and there are over 9,000 birds in this one race. We had Her Majesty The Queen's loft manager bring her pigeons tu us from her estate in Sandringham. Her birds have their own gold coloured rings with ER on them. Anyway, enough of that or I will bore you all. Both yesterday's card and today's are gorgeous and I just love the colour combinations on both of them. Have a great day everyone.

morning Sue from a very very wet and dull day here in Sheffield.
Today's gift is so elegant and just shouts luxury.
This gift has gone into my 'must do' file. I have the calabria die but your skeleton flowers are now at the top of my list as they look so different but so so beautiful when in a bouquet. As you say I would never have thought of the colour scheme but doesn't it look gorgeous.
I have all fingers/toes and anything else I can cross for the weather to change for tomorrow as it's my great granddaughter's birthday party (she'll be 3 on Monday)and a bouncy castle is the surprise of the day for her (or is it for the adults!!!!!).Anyway have a good weekend. Good luck to all who have special events planned and enjoy the day whatever the weather.
See you tomorrow.

Weather wet and dull today but I am not feeling too good today as I was awake a lot though the night with a couple of problems so might do some crafting later I will see how I feel.

First of all, my eyes nearly popped out of my head when I read in Janette 's comment that you might be coming to Glasgow! Please please do , as I tried to work out how I could manage to get to Aberdeen to see you ,but I would have had to pay for overnight accommodation ( money much better spent on crafty stash) and it's quite a long journey from Gairloch whereas I have friends I can stay with near Glasgow so that makes it so much simpler.
Anyway Sue , today's card is dreamy I Love it! It seems to have a sort of nostalgic romantic look to it, and such an unusual colour combination, I have most of the items used but not the exact card stock so will need to check that out.
I have been away for a few days so have fallen behind in reading all the comments about who has been doing what and how people are so please excuse me and just let me send hugs to all xo

Hi Sue, morning Wilsonettes. Boy, how our weather changes (it must know when it's a BH) how cruel ! Going to make it so uncomfortable for me to walk round York (how many Hen party groups do you see wrapped up for winter at the end of May) ?!!! I'll be the one wearing 2 pairs of gloves trying to put a brave face on the fact Im so chuffin cold lol yep, Im dreading it.

Anyway, just being here takes my mind off this dreaded weekend, with a most stunning colour combo to start with, the beautiful folder and dies, with the flowers smiling out to us. I just love it, and I LOVE it Sue when you use the quilled blooms as I have that
set, and love to see how you use them and place them on your work, wether you cascade them or use them 'sparingly' you just help us to add beauty and luxury to our projects, so thank you Sue.
Im so tired, need a good K.U.T.B. to get me cracking this morning I think !
Not sure if I will be able to comment over the next couple of days, but I will catch up Monday.
Tina - Will be thinking of you and your family at Claires blessing tomorrow. My arms will be hugging you tight.
Pam - A Friday cuddle. And to Gail - caring thoughtful hugs to you too chick.

Have a really nice day to you all whatever your plans.
Hugs to you Sue.

Love you.

Hi Sue and everyone. I am so sorry I have not commented for a few days but I have been unwell. I have still been coming to quickly see your gorgeous cards though Sue as I cannot get through the day without seeing your next beautiful creation !! Today's card is just stunning !! How beautiful !! I love the colour combo today. It is unusual and not one I would have thought to put together myself, but it looks fab !! Your faux quilled blooms dies look beautiful and are next on my huge "wish list". I recently made two cards in different colours following your video called the Interwoven Borders Card, when I received your Spanish border, corner and tag die set. The dies are just fab and I was very pleased with the results !! I also made another two cards in different colours using your fab Granada die set, using the center die from the Valencia set with a sentiment in it, tying a large satin bow at the side and finishing with one of your beautiful Rose dies in the center of the bow with the Faux quilled leaves, some white tulle and ready bought white stick pins. ( I really hope you will bring us some packs of coloured beads so we can make our own !! )
I am sorry I cannot e-mail any photos as I ran out of time and they had to be given to the recipients !! (Sorry if I mentioned this card before but I cannot remember if I did or not !!)
I want to say that I really loved yesterday's white and custard rectangle to square card !! It was stunning Sue. I really want to have a go at something similar. Thanks for your fab videos to. I saw Tuesdays card with the Californian border and gilding flakes. This is stunning to, and Wednesday's card was just fab !!
I just wish this stupid illness would not get in my way !!
I hope you are having a lovely time still in Florida with family and friends. Lots of love and hug to you Sue, love Tres x x x

To Pam, Steph, Norah, Cameeli, Lynne M and Tilly and Cully doggies, Myra, Gail C and Tina, Lindsey Martin and Linda Brock ( Sorry if I have forgotten anyone), Wishing you all lots of love and hugs from Tres x x x

Tina, I cannot even remember it I wrote to you before but I am so sorry for your very sad loss. You are in my thoughts and prayers , and I am sending you my love and best wishes to you and your family, Tres x x x

To all the Wilsonettes, I hope everyone has a good day today. Lots of love and hugs from Tres x x x

Hi Sue,
A strong contrast today, quite a masculine colour combo but such a delicate, feminine result! The faux quilled flowers with pearl centres are divine.
After trying out another inset design, I'm eager to do some more. So I will be looking through my dies collection today for likely candidates. I'm going to be busy!

Lynda hugs from me to you and them, they sound adorable, glad Annie is back to normal.

Helloooo Sue and the Wilsonettes! Stunning, stunning card Sue. I love the colours that you have used together. Funnily enough, I was standing at the bus stop earlier and tried to visualise a colour that went with a deep gold pearlescent card I have. I was thinking red, black, then remembered I have a deep plum and a soft plum card too.....the world is my oyster! The Calabria is a beautiful die and I was treated to the flower dies so I can have a play! Thank you Sue! x It's beautiful. Hope you could do a video to show how it was done? Hate asking you Sue because you do so much for us as it is..... xx Hope you are well and everyone's fine xx
Janet, hope the weather is sunny for grandaughters 3rd birthday party.....and yup, the bouncy castle is definitely for the adults!
Nanna Tina, happy birthday to your grandaughter! hope you feel better soon x
Dianne, hope you had a great birthday too!
Julie, thinking of you over your mum's anniversary and hope that your doctor can give you stronger antibiotics x
Jean and Gary, thinking of you too also Gail, Tina, Helen, Mrs B, Norah, Pam and all our wonderful Wilsonettes who need a hug today.
Steff, it's usually the one's that you are dreading to go to turn out to be the best time ever!
Take care Sue and everybody xx Love Karen xx

Hi Sue, wow what a stunner. Love the colour combo. The flowers are amazing and I can see another item to go on my must have list , its getting longer and longer. Hope the weather across the sea is better than here. Lol lynne m x x x

Well missed the thunder/lightning Wednesday night but boy did it make up for it yesterday lunchtime. Fur babies and me were cowering on the settee like fraidy cats waiting for it to end. It must have really scared poochies cuz they were glued to my legs until hubby came home teatime. This morning hubby was in the garden just before he went to work and a ginger cat jumped off a fence panel into the garden, it spooked him and he called out , poochies to the rescue of their dad . Out they run to see off the trespasser, they ran side by side down the path growling low in their throats. The cat jumped up onto the back fence panels and disappeared. Poochies came trotting back up the path with I swear grins on their faces. Now every time they go in the garden they look like they are on patrol daft beggars.

June, Lynda, Alison, Norah, Karen, Lindsay, Tres, Myra - lol and hugs from Tilly & Cully

Lol to all on this blog . Hope the weather is not too bad where you are x x x x

Hi Sue, I really like this card and the colour combination is unusual but lovely. I like the idea of the split embossed card. I have done something similar before but horizontally, and would not have thought to do it on the diagonal. You never fail to inspire.
Hope everyone has a good week-end and fingers crossed for some sunshine.

Good evening Sue and fellow Wilsonettes,
well Sue, another beautiful card that has entigued us all by the looks of things. The colours are not ones i would normally have thought about putting together, but it is working for, as it is so different from the other set in flower card you did recently. You bring such a wealth of knowledge and the wee shove to try new techniques, thank you so much our friend. I still think crafty godmother is the perfect name for you.
Wow what a day for happiness and birthdays, we have our lovely Alison and Diane, both celebrating and Nana Tina's step granddaughter, who turns 25 today. Happy birthday ladies, i hope you have all had a great day. Julie flower, i am so sorry that you can't celebrate your mums birthday, but i hope that the wee bit comfort that we here on the blog can be off some help. Please go back and see the doctor, as you are not getting any improvements from the tablets. Anyway i am sending you a cyder hugs in the hope that they at least let you that you are thought after.
Steph your hat sounds amazing, i hope you have a ball and let you hair down. Don't go too wild and decide to.
I am with Tilly,Cully in the snuggling together when thebad thunder and lightening was goig around, as it used to be under my bed.
Sorry everyone, so very tired so will have to go as so tired.
Take care everyone and i hope to see you all then,
love and crafty hugs
Norah (Glenochil)

Julie so sorry you having a bad time with your eye. Get well very soon! x

Well it's a very late one for me today Sue, this card is great, the colours are great not a combo I would have thought of, but one I will be trying.
Well I got well and truely soaked today, the heavens opened well and truly when I went out to teach. Lynne, the pooches have found their way in life, cat scarpers, my odd will run to the window and bang on it every time a lark black flying thing comes to take the bird seed off the smaller birds, he is so funny when he does it!
Dawn that's fantastic with the Queens pigeons, as has been said what a lot we learn thanks to Sue, Alison the foals are doing really well at the moment, very damp poor things, one of the stallions was injured the other week and the get has seen him twice now but his leg doesn't seem to be healing nerdy well, so that will be another call on Monday to have him back to look at it again, glad you managed to have a good birthday. Steph hope you have a lovely weekend, just wrap up warm! Tres nice to see you but sorry to hear you are not so good, take care,Janet have a lovely time at your great granddaughters birthday, but not to ouch bouncing, just hope the weather is good for you,Julie take care and hope your eye soon starts improving. Pam, Cameeli, Norah. and everyone else, take care and see you all tomorrow xx

Fabulous card, fabulous colour combination. Definitely must try a version of this one - I don't have the Calabria die so will have to use something else for the card centre. I had a senior moment reading the instructions and missed the bit about cutting it diagonally. I couldn't work out how you'd managed to emboss half the card so perfectly on the diagonal!!! Read it four times before the penny dropped.

Lorraine Taylor - try Grafton Cards for the embossing folder.

Thinking of Tina, Gail, Jean and Pam.
