Wednesday Weekly Card Giveaway

Hello friends!  This card isn't maybe as flashy as the ones that I usually put on offer for the card giveaway, but it is quite pretty in real life.  I hope you don't mind, but I like to change it up sometimes so that there are different styles to appeal to different tastes.  So I am hoping that you will want to leave a comment today to be in the drawing for this one!  I started with a piece of decorative paper from my stash (Teresa Collins, I believe).  I added a smaller panel that was done out of coconut white card that I embossed with the Illusion embossing folder.  I cut the largest die from the California Collection Decorative Frames Set B out of white card and inked through the die with Tattered Rose distress ink before removing it.  I stamped the sentiment from the Becca Feeken's stamp set called Friendship Vintage Labels Seven.  I cut it out with my California Collection Set A largest size.  I inked it with Tattered Rose as well and mounted it atop the other die.  For my embellishments, I stamped the Justrite daisy three times using a black archival ink pad.  I cut out only the daisy head, leaving the leaves behind.  I coloured them with Distress markers (Tattered Rose, Scattered Straw) and mounted them on foam around the lower corner of my sentiment, slightly overlapping them.  Using Cosmic Shimmer dries clear glue, I added some to eachh of the centres and sprinkled them with Diamond Snow for a bit of bling.  I cut some of the Fern Trio die and added them as well as a messy bow tied from white seam binding and white tulle.  I matted the entire piece on a double white mat and added Cosmic Shimmer white PVA glue dots around the edge as accents.  The final touch was three flatback pearls in the upper corner.  Finished dimensions are 7 1/4" x 8 1/4" in size.  I'll announce the winner on Saturday's post.  All for now, Sue x

Hi Sue and blog friends

I think this card is stunning, there is a lot more crafting used to achieve this one, it's not just die cutting, it's the art of cutting by hand. It's beautiful. Colour scheme FAB too. Love that embossing folder.

Snowqueen62, I am thinking of you and your new playmate, I can only imagine how you feel today, what a special friendship is about to happen, love to you both. Please tell us all about your new baby.

Kind regards to all :-)

Sue, how could you think no one would like today's beautiful card, I think with the amount of comments today you shouldn't doubt that we love all your creations, I need a tutorial on using the distress markers to their best please though!
Steph, I hope your infection clears off soon, Pam great to see you back regularly first thing in the mornings, missing Cameeli though, Norah as usual loved your story, Lynne our spaniels do the same with the kitchen floor! Very late today as had the local preschool to see the foals today, and we had to rush the latest foal In as she was not looking too good, called the vet to be told it would be sometime before they could get to us, went to see her a little later and she was back to normal, so called them back and got the vet to call me, he thinks she had Choke, luckily the obstruction cleared quickly and she is now a happy five day old foal. Phew it was all we needed. Take care all gentle hugs to those that need it at the moment xxx

Hi Sue

Need to be brief today, but couldn't help but admire the boldness of the stamped daisies on the softness of the fern die cuts and fabric. Made a beautiful contrast again with the tattered rose inking. I keep thinking about an A4 cutting machine as I love so many of the folders.

That's all from me today, crafty hugs to all,

T x

Sue,

Not as...you're kidding, right? This card is just as stunning as your others. I really don't think you can do something just plain. I love the how you built it up with all the layers and textures...great job.

Hi Sue, you say this card is not as flashy as other your other cards. I beg to disagree. The flowers make a big bold statement and the background sets the focal element off perfectly. I love it.

Hi Sue, so very late tonight, I really don't know what happened to the evening, I'm sure it was only five o'clock ten minutes ago :-) This is certainly a different card today but no less beautiful than any others of yours. I don't have all the required components but I will be having a go at my version with the dies/stamps that I do have.
Hope everyone has a good night.

Hi Sue
I know I'm late today, well it's nearly tomorrow now. this card is absolutely stunning and where has this embossing folder been hiding. Anyone would be honoured to own it. the Aussie rello's as they call themselves took us out today. Had a destination planned but that went by the wayside as we went with the flow. started at Minster Lovell and ended up at the Broadway in Evesham. Hugs to everyone who needs one today, And hope you are having a fabulous time over the pond Sue.

Paper Junkie said...

What do you mean Sue - not flashy - it's gorgeous and I'm sure any one of us would love to own it. Good luck everyone in the draw.
Julie - glad you got my message - so sorry you are having similar heartaches. Hope all is well soon. About to disappear again for a few days to care for my sister who is going home from hospital on Friday so not sure when I will be back. Big hugs to all. X

Well today I feel as though this card has been made for me! It is the Anniversary of our dear little boy who passed away 11 years ago today. The words on this card have struck a chord for me. To keep myself busy I have been crafting away making rosette cards so the video has been played, paused and sitting on my screen for most of the past couple of days! Anyway a beautiful card. xx
