Wednesday Weekly Card Giveaway

Hello all!  Another Wednesday has rolled around and time again for a card giveaway.  Today's card features my Paved Pearl technique, which, it seems, I haven't done in ages so thought it might be a nice choice.  I started with a piece of coconut white card and the Tufted background stamp by Justrite.  I "inked" the stamp with Flake and Glitter glue by dabbing it with some glue added to a piece of cut 'n dry foam.  Once the stamp was completely covered (it will have a bit of a bluish white look to it), I stamped it by bringing the card to the top of the stamp and pressing over it with my hand.  Two reasons for this, first it is far easier to do this method with larger stamps and you are certain that all the areas come in contact with your card.  Secondly, when using Flake and Glitter glue, you do not want to linger too long, after all it is a glue and your card will stick to the stamp if you do.  This method is actually a much quicker way to stamp.  Peel the card off of the stamp and set it to the side so the glue has time to turn clear (this means it is ready to go) and you must clean the glue off of your stamp.  I usually will use a Grime Boss to wipe it down or run it under the tap with a small nail brush to get into the detailed areas.  Either method works fine, just don't forget to remove the glue or it will damage your stamp.  Next I covered the image with Calypso Gilding Flakes and used a piece of Rubit Scrubit Pad by Ranger to refine the flakes and remove the excess.   I trimmed the background and matted it with another piece of white card.  I cut a Vintage Labels Seven out of white card and added two Filigree Flourish dies (by Becca Feeken), one top, one bottom across the centre.  It is lovely that the centre of the background stamp has the same shape to it so it does look like I have a gilded faux nestie already. I stamped my sentiment from the Friendship Vintage Labels set by Justrite and embossed it in gold detail powder.  I cut it out with the smallest Vintage Labels Seven and added Iced Snow to the edge.  I seated this in the centre of the two filigree flourishes.  Using my Classic Rose dies, I gilded some card and cut out enough dies to make two different sized roses and assembled them according to the same tutorial at the top of my blog (it was done when I had to use stamps for the flower).  I added them with some white tulle and gold cording at the side of my focal element.  I added a wide white mat with a thinner white bottom mat.  On the wide part, I added my paved pearls using the Cosmic Shimmer white PVA glue dots.  You can check out the tutorial at the top of the blog to see how it is done in more detail.  If you would like to be entered in the drawing for this card, just leave a comment on the blog post and I will draw a name and announce it on Saturday's post.  The finished dimensions are 6 1/4" x 7 1/2" in size.  All for now, Sue x

Wow, more techniques I must try. These roses are amazing.
Steph, I hope your daughter realises just how much you love her to do all that without showing how you are feeling. You could publish these diaries, would be a best seller.
cheers all,
